  1. I think so aswell and hope so aswell.
  2. jup, that is what I do. I also always sculpt on old figures who don't mind to be damaged.
  3. I finaly completed this project, but can't take good pictures, so just a sneek peak: As you can see, I've painted the arms aswell.
  4. They stole my idea, those bastards ;) I'm kinda sad that they will eventualy do Batman Duplo, now my idea isn't that unique anymore. My next plan for Cuusoo would have been Duplo Boba Fett, but now chanses are they will make Duplo Star Wars aswell. Once a figure I customized gets officialy made I feel really sad about that, doesn' mather if it's better or worse. I think I'll better upload my pictures, or there will be no point in it anymore. Thanks for the info non the less.
  5. that is correct, but so far the only bootlegs are based on IP's if I'm not mistaking.
  6. It's indeed a gray zone. I sell customs aswell, but they are all unique, since they are handsculpted and painted. Don't get me wrong, I love what the customizers who reproduce their own designs do, but I think it's risky, that is why I only reproduce my own designer toys. I'm sure Lego is aware of these "commercial" costums, but they are alowing it, since it's still creative in a way. I can understand the customizers are mad, but they really have no legal right to complain. BTW, I think Darth Vader pooping on Lucas would be okay, it falls under the laws of parody, but maybe the other way around would be more accurate, there is a good South Park episode about this with, Lucas, Steven and Indiana.
  7. They should take it as a compliment, I would do so. I can't imagine that those customizers have any right to start complaining,
  8. So it seems: There's an article about it here: http://www.brickheroes.com/2013/12/customs-contrefaits-ou-contrefacon-de-customs/ (in frensh) I don't collect Lego Iron man, so I don't know that mush about them, but if I'm not mistaking some of these versions are not rip ofs from actual Lego designs.
  9. I don't think eBay is the problem, there are other sites were you can buy them. (I don't think I can tell which ones)
  10. I have some of those and they are defenaitly not the same, the printing is not that good, the quality of the plastic is more or less the same as magnet minifigures when they were at their worst. But the legs are different, the two pins Lego minifigure legs usually have are different, you can easely see the difference. So they don't come from the same asembly line, maybe the same factory. But you are correct, this is the risk of producing in China. I have some of these knockoffs because they are funny. But I would never let my kid play with them, you never know which matherials they used, if the paint is toxic etc... You can easely spot them between your real minifigures, which makes your army look stupid. Here you can easely see the pore quality:
  11. Isn't this recent Mars Rover the best example. They did similar sets before, http://www.bricklink...S&catString=482 , but they (me aswell) don't really see the Curiousity rover as an athempt for a revival of the Discovery theme. It's just the way how yu sell your idea. @ Blakstone and Faefrost, thanks for the nice compliments.
  12. Not that it's not a great and accurate model, but iI have the impression I've seen sets like this before.
  13. It seems that the need to make these figures realistic and so accurate as possible isn't doing these minifigures any good. The black hips are indeed mush better than the printed ones. Nice revieuw on the other hand.
  14. 184, not that mush, but I didn't start spamming my friends, family and other people yet. I always wanted to reach 1.000, to have some comments by Lego. I don't think so. I got an e-mail eventualy, So I presume it's really gone, since they say removed, not archived. Check my signature, which is the direct link.
  15. And my project has been deleted... I didn't expect it to happen so soon, I wanted to a take screenshot as a last souvenir. Didn't get any notification at all. Kinda sad now, Anybody knows what happens with my votes if I stop my account? Cuusoo has no real purpose for me anymore, but I don't want my precious votes lost aswell.
  16. Picked up 2 Death Star Battlepacks today, very cool battle pack. The new blasters are weird. I like them, but it's strange that my troopers make sound when I handle them. Only thing that slightly bothers me is the trans red stud, I will replace them with trans neon orange to match the old blasters.
  17. I'll only reply on this because we are both going to offtopic. I didn't ment that all Cuusoo sets should be "low" quality, just the special part could be. Anyway, you've given some understandable arguments, but I can't really say that I changed my mind. But it's the way it is, can't do anything about it. Thanks for the support vote btw, I was making a new Duplo set for Cuusoo, according to the old rules and keeping commercial point of view etc... but two new parts. That is why I'm so mad :)
  18. I understand this 100% an I agree. But I also knew this would happen when they launched Cuusoo. Every Lego fan knew this would happen. When Cuusoo lauched, what do you think all the Star Wars fans came up with; hmm, lets spend hours on creating a nice space ship. or Star Wars Collectible minifgures! I just think Cuusoo was getting to usefull for the competition.
  19. They alowed my project when I sumited it, so I naturaly presumed it was okay. I don't know the old rules, but I do remeber, that you could submit idea's for new parts. The fact that they will be removing the projects is what really bothers me. I've spend a lot of time and dedication in my project, like many others. Like many of these others I'm not into it for the almost impossible to reach 10.000 votes, or the 1%. I didn't even asked my friends or famlity to support (yet). I just wanted to have my project be seen by fans and the Lego people themself. As a comment on the cost of making new parts VS the limited sales of Cuusoo projects. I'm sure they can make those new, special parts (which are head or headgear most of the time) in a less expensive way, same quality, but not with expensive everlasting molds. The clone brands do it, those webshops like Brickarms do it. I just think it's more of an excuse that they are sick of another Cuusoo set with an unreleased Star Wars character.
  20. I'm no real expert, but I have difficulties believing a new part costs that mush. I cast my own designer toys, so I more or less know how this proces goes. And even if new parts would cost more than usual, to live up to the Lego standards. They save money were other toy companies, who make new parts on a regular basis, loose money. For example, Lego doesn't need to be assembled in the factory, like other toys do, they only need to print a minority of the parts, most parst are a single colour.... I'm not buying this excuse to change Cuusoo policy.
  21. I'm really pissed with some of these new rules. Yes, this is exactly how I feel. I've put a lot of effort into my project. I wanted to make something original and share on an official Lego site. But now it will get deleted. I don't know why the rules suddenly changed, but I have the impression that the people at Cuusoo are mad ad some members (or themself). Their short communication gives me that impression anyway. They have a correcting undertone and I don't like it.
  22. I'm missing the option. Wath is Tapatalk? No seriously, never heard of it.
  23. very nice, cool details, I especialy like the trees.
