  1. I still don't understand how this ever hapened. Really, I don't know who voted or why.
  2. Isn't that the whole Cuusoo Problem? I'm not following this way to long discussion. But so far, I have the impresion that Cuusoo idea's get votes based on the hype and promotion surounding them. Only after that comes the quality of a project. It's sad, but inevitable these days.
  3. Don't worry, you can still buy the set at this nice eBay store: http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/Lego-21103-EXCLUSIV-CUUSOO-DeLorean-Zeitmaschine-Back-To-The-Future-NEU-NEW-/300942866902?pt=DE_Allesf%C3%BCrdKind_Spielzeug_Lego&hash=item461197b9d6
  4. looks good, and very recognizable.
  5. When I check it out on the Lego site (belgium)it's € 49,99. Strange and stupid. edit, Netherlands, Luxemburg and Italy are 49,99 aswell; Germany and France are 41,99; Portugal and Spain are 39,99; but Finland is 64,99, poor nerds.
  6. Guess again, it's € 50 in Europe, thanks Lego.
  7. Put it on eBay and you will get a good price for them for sure.
  8. sorry dude. (don't get the new Spiderman figure) @ Aanchir, maybe you're right and it's not photomanipulation, but it's still not very representative for what you get. The only point I'm trying to make is that I don't mind adding ectra lightning effects etc, as an adult collector I'm smart enough to see trough it. But with the white printing I felt a little mislead for the first time, but I'm not mad, I understand that it's matter of production circumstances, so far Lego still has enough credit. btw, I photoshop a lot of my pictures myself, so I can't complain to hard
  9. The emblems on the helmet are just there because it's an other pilot, most of them have differnet helmets, I couldn't find a regular and photooshopped picture of the same pilot. But get back to the first part of you comment, I don't know if you ever had one of these figures actually in your hands? When I got them for the first time I imediatly noticed and quite frankly, it's the only thime I've been really disapointed with Lego quality. Especially the troppers, I bought one package and after opening it it went straight on eBay.
  10. very good, I recognized her imediatly
  11. I understand, I also like to keep the two somehow separated, but since customizing Lego has become a part of my artwork, I can't separate the two anymore. I was just currious if you have a portfolio online somewhere and maybe share it trough a PM?...
  12. Me it's the opposite, I'm good at most things, but really suck some at others (making websites) , non the less, I have a diploma. I just need my diploma to be able to teach art at school. When I aply for a freelance job, I never take my diploma with me, but my portfolio. BrickG, were do you work, I also have some friends working for the gaming industry
  13. Cool, they don't need any 3D experience this time. Thats normal in this kind of work.
  14. I forgot this photoshopping, which really bugs me, can't belive I forgot this one. What the box says what you really get. For those who don't see it, it's the helmet for the clone and the vest for the pilot. Lego seems to be having isseus printing white on orange and they skillfully hide it
  15. Good point. I remember when I was a kid I was always very disapointed when toys weren't that cool as they appeared to be. Especially with Transformers, they look so cool in the cartoons and on the drawing on the box. I soon learned why they are always sold tranformed in the vehicle, never the robot. But still, I think lego has no real choise, this is how toys are sold these days. As a regular Lego customer we more or less know what we can expect. Compared to other toycomapnies I believe Lego is really fair. To be honest, I would like the boxes without photoshop, most of the boxes themself are really cool, nice design etc... I almost never trow away them away.
  16. Very cool and a nice display base.
  17. you're right, they make excellent well funded points. Thanks a lot.
  18. Great revieuw. For me personaly this revieuw shows very good what is wrong with this set. It's a huge pile of black bricks with not that many minifigures and it costs a lot of money. So I'll pas. BTW, it's funny to see the reflections in the pictures you took. It gives a nice artistic toutch to the pictures.
  19. Hello, I'm working on a new Duplo Duo, but I seem to be stuck. I'm making a Boba Fett (the second one is still top-secret) but I have troubles painting the figure. The ainting itself is not the real isseu, the problem is how far can I go with the detail... It's really driving me nuts. The helmet is no problem, in fact I'm really happy with the head. The torse is also not a real problem, but the arms and legs are reallt hard. I want to stay relatively tru to the Duplo spirit, so not to mush detail on the limbs, but I have the feeling it's a little to simple compared to the head and torso. I don't k.now if it's my imagination, since I've been looking at the guy for to long. here's a front vieuw from the side: and the other side, the lighting is not great... I sculpted the head myself, it's my second try, the first one turned out to big. All comments are welcome. Thanks,
  20. ooh, that is right, I forgot about Bionicle and Hero Factory. I must say that there they go to far with the photoshoping. The sets always look very cool on the box or catalog, but in reall life, half of them is really disapointing. Especially when the quallity of the plastic went backawards a few years ago.
  21. Interesting discussion. So far, I don't mind the phothsopping, what botters me more is when they do it bad. I see photoshop errors in almost every catalog, some are really huge. Or this one for example: The picture itself is lazy and the photoshopping even lazier. Admiral Ackbar his torso isn't attached properly and Leia her face and hear are not in a straight line. Could be very easely fixed with photoshop. The only time I found phoshopping misleaing so far is the Extra Luke Skywalker they use in this image of the Battle of Hoth. Otherwise I really don't mind, it may be a little missleading, but certainly not more than other companies.
  22. sweet, I always liked that joke (probably one of the few)
