Dear goodness! You're alive? You are forgiven though....just. Hope you get better soon then, I know stress really does make you sick. Do you know anything you're getting for Christmas? Nice, I admit the previews of it looked pretty standard, have you opened that crummy knight arch yet? Nice, I hope they keep releasing them. I still maintain that Joker's first two stories are some of the finest written, definitely one of the more creepy renditions. Now THAT is hilarious! Mind you I say things similar when punning, though I try to refrain. But to answer "This is Bruce Wayne"? Not very intelligent for the supposed World's Greatest Detective Yeah, I was the same when talking to the comics guy, I said "They're not gonna kill him and whatever they're doing ain't gonna stick", and he just replied "exactly, it's just another sales gimmick". I'm just really annoyed the way it's been handled, it turns out RIP has actually nothing to do with Batman's death and that there is going to be a "Battle for the Cowl" which is totally illogical. Why the heck are the city's do-gooders going to be battling each other for a title? If anything they would actually band together in order to enforce the good that Batman did, not fight it out like Morons. And of course Huntress is now back to her stupid "for guys who can't get any" costume, I wish DC will just drop it. And bad news for you, Babs is seemingly disbanding the birds of Prey (stupid) and losing herself to the oracle identity (stupid). Atleast Azrael is coming back but no doubt he'll be a different person. Meanwhile Beechen is screwing up both Cass' and Cain's characters simultaneously. Furthermore Tony Daniel is writing and drawing battle for the Cowl and if his writing is as lacklustre as his art we're in for a doozy. Plus Morrison's stupid Damian "My name does not indicate I'm evil!" Al Ghul is STILL alive and being pushed forward as the next possible Robin. And Morrison is throwing every obscure Silver Age tale at me while continuing to ignore current continuity. Honestly man when I found out about all this I actually when to my room, cried a bit, and died a little more on the inside Yeah, it was fun, even if my friends and I went a little crazy. Thing is everyone was going out to parties afterwards but the majority of my friends and I just went to our respective homes and slept Oh, and we're six months out because you're British and crazy. Our school starts in late Febuary and ends early December, while you as mentioned before, are British and crazy Nice job! Glad to see you finally buying things again, I recall at the beginning of the year I was a quiet shopper and you had a new purchase each week, our roles were reversed for a little bit there! Good job on getting Dark Victory, you'll have fun with that one. As a big fan of Robin and Two-Face I actually prefer it to TLH. I bought Tales of the Batman by Tim Sale and The Man Who Laughs recently. TotB by Tim Sale is wonderful. Did you ever read Legends of the Dark Knight? It contains an arc called Blades in here by James Robinson with art by Tim Sale(duh), and is one of my favourite stories ever. It concerns The Cavalier a young stuntman who becomes Gotham's next champion vigilante against crime while Batman stalks a serial killer. The Cavalier is actually approved of by Bats because he reminds him of Zorro, or as he says to him "You remind me of old movies, of good times" It also includes a tale where Killer Moth teams up with Catman, Calenderman (complete with calendercape) and a villain called Chancer (he has goodluck) to rise above the staus of Losers they have and become A-Listers. They fail Another great one takes place during Knightfall where Dr Arkham tries to get the inmates to work together on their new home (blackgate) and beat the cons in a game of Softball. Sounds odd, but it is a hilariously good tale with some excellent cheating from the inmates. Man Who Laughs is a good tale as you know, but it also includes in GN form another tale called Made of wood that features Batman working with Alan Scott the green Lantern on a murder case. It's really quite good. You are FORGIVEN! I didn't need to read that though. Speaking of which, how's you comic going? Also, you watched any of the Brave and the Bold eps yet? They truly are great! I'm a bit upset that there is only six sets but considering all the other awesome stuff I'll have to buy I can dig it. I haven't been keeping up with this thread enough so I hope to do that more often now, but I'll say I'm still determined to get that awesome Troll witch! Batbrick Away!

Wow! You actually just convinced me to get this set and like the whole theme a little more! I love the counter rotating mechanism, can't wait to see it in real life. Of course the minifigs are a real gem, I love those dual sided faces and that rock monster is so cute! Since I don't have a dynamite stick this is a great way to acquire one too. Those huge wheels will go greatly towards my Interactive Apocalypse mocs and I the lime green will go greatly towards Joker mocs. Thanks for the review! Batbrick Away!

I think I may have got it now, but won't say out of possible embarrassment and possible spoilers. Anyway, great new comics! I think Vanilla Snowball (still the best cat name ever btw) one is my favourite so far. The cameo of the moon crawler Kitty was genius, even if it only looks like a cat because you mentioned it (yes, you're crazy). But the real gem was Verwaand's little "What!? Even the cat gets higher billing than me?" Poor Verwaand, nobody likes him... This is another favourite. As much as Friendlich is a good guy I just can't not see him as a badguy now that he is teamed up with Verwaand against Valkyrie. Of course DACTA is as ignorant as ever: "Let's roll some clips!" I think it should be a continued staple of the series that Friendlich has all the bad luck. Oh, an since you may not notice since I double posted, I read through all the comics and posted a reply in your other Lego Space topic. Batbrick Away!

What were your favorite Lego: Space - The Comic stories of 2008?
Batbrick replied to KDog's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Sorry for the double post, but last night I read through every last Lego space comic in order in one sitting. It took e a little over three hours Anyway, I made a heap of observations I'll bring up in the normal thread, but for now I'll say my favourites: Okay, for the long stories, I chose the DACTA storyline. DACTA was hilariously great but I also love those stories that tie everything together and give you a sense of where it's going.I'd definitely love to see more stories like that which tie things together through a single plot device (in this case a news report) and give you a sense of where it is going. Another largey was Meteor Madness. Since I'm such a big Shwartz/Valkyrie shipper (my favourite two characters....together!?) this one was also hilariously good. It also took me by great surprise with that final twist, very well planned out. I'd like ot see more overreaching twists like that. Old Friends was yet another large story I loved. Again like the DACTA story it really tied things together and only got better when the Gemini Twins arrived and Coldwell told his Xenu story. It was also the first interaction of many characters who hadn't met officially in the comic so far (meaning Shwartz and Galanos already knew and met him, but this was the first time we say them meet.) Yet another largey because I'm getting ridiculous is Thursday Night, At Last. Do you have any idea how long I was waiting for that one? Don't ever do that again to me! Seriously this was great, anything involving both Shwartz and Valkyrie is. The random UFO and Yeti bits were nice too. In Search of...the 918 was very cool. It gave us finally a new advancement on the 918 storyline, and the Gemini wins are always a riot. Again, like with most of the other stories here I've mentioned, it's the ones that advance the plot that I really love. Plus a little horror goes a long way, him "saving" that dead guy who was "still alive" was freaky. Lastly I voted the Advent Calender as my last favourite big story. I love specials, and this is no exception. It's always nice to take a break from the plot and have a cool thing such as this. Plus it gives us a rejog on who's who (I had forgotten about Coldwell and McGann). Anyway, that's all my favourite large stories, I'll give you a break KDog and let you reply to those first if you wish before I post my favourite medium storylines. Batbrick Away! -

Thanks, I wish there were Batimpulses....What do you mean by partner? Thanks Whitefang, those afterburners will be draggy's undoing for it will be destroyed! Thanks Dragonator mate, I'm planning to blow up the sun on the competition day so it can take place in darkness I also like how the vehicles reflect the sigfigs, and you will be defeated my medieval foe! Er yes, I also agree, it is veeery devastating and flipping huge! I love it! Buuuuut, I don't think that is really as snowbox *runs*, maybe a smaller, more boxy revision would be a better idea? *runs further* Because that looks more like a tanksled than a boxsled *runs to the farthest point on known Earth* Batbrick Away! -
Oh noes! It appears my Batbox has been infected with a curse! It has now become a wicked machine of pure steam powered malice! Vera, the Snow Box's name is, and she will crush you and your soul in this competition: TheBrickster, partner in the Men in Black/Nightmare Before Christmas team approves! Batbrick!

Well.......that would be appreciated. Actually my Batcomputer is running very slow today Muhaha! I will sever your spears Whitefang with my customized spear-cutting Batarangs! Also, wonderful entries Edbeereis1 and SirNadroj, I laughed at the "Economy goes downhill at breakneck speeds" and the "Leftover Mobile!" But I shall win, because I swore a vow on the night my parents died that I would rid this community of the evil that took their lives. I would use the night. BECOME the night, for I am the night! I am vengeance! I AM BATBRICK! Batbrick Away! -

I loved most all of them, but today to make sure I'm going to have to read through every last one to decide. I'll post later after I've done that. Batbrick Away! -
I'll go figure wise: Harley Quinn, Bane and Scarecrow. Each of these are practically perfect. Character wise I say Two-Face, Mr Freeze, Riddler and Catwoman. They are all very three dimensional people with real problems, most wanting to help themselves be better people but their demons get in their way. Two-Face and Mr Freeze especially pursue the greater good, not evil, they just do it in a warped way. I honestly think Joker is overrated. He's a wonderful and complex villain true, but he is very easy to write and not nearly as deep or intriguing as many others. Of course for characters not made by TLC my favourites are Ra's Al Ghul, Mad Hatter and Hugo Strange. Batbrick Away!

I must confess I also thought that Anyway, sorry for being away recently. Love the new strips. Awesome to see G-Bot here, though my brain mustn't be working early this morning because I'm clueless to the joke, yet it feels vaguely familiar... Awesome to see Coldwell too, was he introduced in Blank Attack? I recall his hilarious Xenu dream but can't remember if that was before or after the whole dragon affair. Loved the "down at the store buyin' a pepsi" comment though. Of course Ronald is a great character. I admit to not liking at first but now he has grown on me immensely. Of course his odd dialog always makes for funny situations like pretending to be his brother here. took a while for me to realise that Mikey was replying from in the calender though! Great stuff all round, always looking forward to the next ones! Batbrick Away!

Sounds exciting, if it's what we all hope it will be I can't wait to try random cool Lego themes out for a spin! I'll be disappointed if it just a flash game as said but atleast there is probably another Lego game out next year also. Batbrick Away!

Awesome job on the winter skin Hinckley! The whole thing is so good, but my favourite touch is Dr Inferno shooting snowballs at everyone Batbrick Away!

Hilarious work with those cute little rock monsters Sir Nadroj. I must say that my favourite is the "got a light", the look on the miner's face is a classic. Great stuff as always, even if you have some bad puns Batbrick Away!

Awesome set review daoudbazaar! I really have to get two of this set. The figs are fantastic and perfectly suited for use in my Batman world. Love the gangsters, the black fedoras and awesome new suit prints are definitely worth another purchase alone. Their faces are also very cool, so evil! Willie is another fantastic fig, her dress will be of great use as a Gotham beauty or one for Talia. The double sided face is fantastic, and I love that hair, we definitely need more blonde hair. Short Round I'm indifferent on, but I'm sure his face will come in use. Awesome to see Indy with a new suit, I was hoping for a new face but we can't have it all can we? I'll definitely need two of that suit as well! The cars are simply superb. The 30-40's style will really lend itself to my Gotham and the tan vehicle will go greatly as Bruce Wayne's car. I really can't profees my love enough for the Indy vehicle designs but these are the best ones to me, so useful outside of the Indy theme despite how much I love the movies. Anyway, thanks again for the review, your photography and layouts are excellent! Batbrick Away!

I had forgotten about these two! Bruce as always (I went back and read their bit) is hilariously over possessive. The real shocker I only just got when rereading it. I thought that you had mixed up the figures but then I realised that Cheryl was just as crazy and paranoid as Bruce is! Batbrick Away!

Great work Mariann Asanuma! You should definitely be very proud of this mosaic, I don't think I can really say much about it apart from the obvious: Its very, very good. Nice job in the stickers too, I didn't notice them the first time round. My only criticism is the grey glove on Batman's left hand, I'm pretty certain its meant to be black. No major problem though, I didn't spot it until after quite a bit of time looking at the details. So awesome job overall, the little videogame sign is also great. Batbrick Away!

Thanks for that reply KDog, hope you enjoy your small vacation when it comes round! The shipping to Tas is awful yes, but I'll just wait for them to arrive, I'm in no hurry. I love the rock monsters too, they remind me of that Sesame Street trash can puppet, Groucho I think. I knew it! I'll have to look out for her next time i re-read these things. Interesting that yuo have a large role for her too. anyway great new comics. I always like McGann, nice obscure Who reference. Of course the real meat here is the UFO guy, I really hope to see his plot come to fruition soon. Is he your main plot point still? Anyway I laughed at the "Meet any fine ladys doing that?" because let's admit it, we always wondered if that was the reason. Batbrick Away!

What does everyone think of the new Batman show? Personally I love it, a perfect translation of the fun Dick Sprang and Silver Age times of Batman. Plus I love that through a popular character (Batman) the creators are giving those who don't know a lot about the DC universe a tour through its lesser known characters (Blue Beetle, Red Tornado, Etrigan etc). I love the witty atmosphere too, I laughed at loud at several points in each episode. Thoughts?

Neat, I'll have to go back and look now. *Looks up scapula* Very nice, that's actually a clever little idea. I'm guessing you might also do one for New Years or something? I'm still waiting for them to come out here, but being Tasmania this might take a long while. I also will restrain from the larger sets though and get the smaller ones. Oh, and either way your comic came out fine, I got both vibes from it but the cynic in me saw it getting worse Anyway, Red who? Nice to see such a nonappearing character to appear, I hope to see her in future stories. Was this made as your little wake up call to actually put her in something? Though mind you, I could've sworn she was in the background of training flashback of Shootin in the Solar Breeze part 3. Batbrick Away!

Hehe, "I'll resist all obvious jokes" As always I'll note that it is good to see Ice Babe. Carter and robot has been my favourite so far now, I hope to see him again, has he made any appearances since that early strip? "Left Clavicle" And also, not wanting to sound teste testy here (wow that strip affected more than I thought!) but is there going to be a special Christmas comic? Batbrick Away! EDIT: Research now suggests that "clavicle" is part of the collar bone
