  1. Best. Ending. Ever Seriously, that was awesome, so much better than having him simply tortured by it, he is brainwashed to love it! Brilliant! Great photography and setup on this one too KDog, I now believe you've done the "sooner than later" idea justice. Looking forward to the next one as always, how you keep raising the bar is beyond me. Batbrick Away!
  2. And you thought that because..........? You may not like it but at least respect that a lot of people do, sheesh. Batbrick Away!
  3. I love that film! Excellent job portraying the giant portraying the dread Pirate Roberts. I also love the scared look of the scattered men. The wall is very good to also, love the accurate presence of the gate too. Batbrick Away!
  4. Thanks SCG, glad the Speed Racer head works, as well as the Indy head as a generic: I thought I'd get butchered for that! Thanks meschepers, glad you agree with me about Ra's, he really is a fantastic villain. Thanks for the compliment, I hope to keep my displa growing. Thanks BB1! As for the family comment, I take it you have not read Son of the Demon? I like the old Robin costume, but agree the new one is great, like a proper superhero costume. As for the Inmates, I couldn't include you because well, you're a yellow! Oh yes, I'm sure they have! It it a very good fit isn't it? I just want to get a good suit for him to use now. Huh, what do you know? I had forgotten about those minivigs. I'm not sure which I like better: trans can or black can? Thanks, and no, I hvent done Zsasz yet, which one were you referring to? Thanks ED-209, I'm glad you commented on the Ivy Goon, I'm definitely making a torso decal like that. Thanks for the suggestion of that head, it does look rather appropriate. Not sure about the beard either, but it does look good. I guess I'll just have to wait for TLC's version Thanks, I'm glad you like Talia in the dress. Sorry to say, while I do love that torso, it is nothing like Ra's would wear. Thankyou though! Batbrick Away!
  5. Yes I know I'm a bit late! Sue me! Okay, so I finally got around to uploading my four little Halloween vigs, I hope you enjoy, here they are: An Encounter with Death: A man looks upon his own fallen body, confused... That is until he sees Death coming to claim his soul, and then he screams and unheard scream... Yes it is a bit dark, but I love this pic. Normal day shots, notice the dead ground beneath Death's feet: The Skeleton Booth: A woman is trapped in a phone booth, surrounding by the living dead: Just a thin pane of glass separating her from them: Dayshot. I must admit I'm very happy with the phone booth, I might even keep it. Too bad you can't see it very well with all the skeletons: A Deadly Waiter: A man shouts in protest at a skeleton head being placed upon his table. Amidst the man's demanding as to what prank this is, the waiter replies: "Happy Halloween" I'm very unhappy with the photographs with this one, so this should clear tings up: Witchcraft: On demonic grounds a Witch conjures black magic from the deep: Fire erupts, a sure sign of success: Two Dayshots, because it looks better for some reason here: Well I hope you enjoyed, please do comment. And sorry about the shoddy photography in places. Oh, and..... Boo! Batbrick Away!
  6. I personally see no problem in discussing this topic so long as no flaming or political chat begins. Even as an Australian I wish Obama luck in his campaign as presidents to bring the country, and by extension help the world, to be a better place. Batbrick Away!
  7. Sorry I'm late KDog. Love the conclusion to the Halloween part, this is indeed getting mighty interesting! Love the way you left it open too, satisfying yet still intriguing. I like that he's a shade of grey, I wonder what the supposedly evil force controlling him is.... , this was great. Love the horror on Shwartz's face at the end, the poor guy... As funny as it was, I'm a little sad you didn't wait for like a year before doing this though. love the image editing with the stage panel though. Batbrick Away!
  8. .....What!? I'll get started on it soon, both a Halloween Collection and a Batman Halloween Special. Even if they are late Yeah, that truly is annoying. Still, if you ever want links, I can give them. The by was also confirmed from Ebay yesterday, so that's another gem to look forward to, especially with Mad Love in it. That's the way it goes. I'm doing it mainly for the purple and minifig pieces, but the tan is essential for when I make my Wayne Manor. Bley is a good thing to look out for too, considering I'm planning on making a few Gotham buildings. I just watched it on youtube! It's true! Here, look at precisely six minutes in: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=GQpGeu8fcow His stern face is absolutely legend, as is to a smaller extent Virgil's. I just watched Terror in New York City and I must say this is another wonderful episode. Seriously, it has it all: Firefly action at the beginning (more on that in a sec), Scott being a jerk to the reporters for taking a photo, military versus TB 2 was awesome, crash landing (the first time we get to see how TB2 lands btw), the outlandish aspect of moving the empire State Building, heavy use of Gordon and TB4 my favourites and best of all the full showing of the team at the end in the audience. As for the Firefly bit though, Virgil how exactly do you figure a blazing massive fire at an oil well can be put out via an EXPLOSION!? Yeah, the design is so ingenius I'd almost build it myself. THe bonuse levels are pretty poor quality graphics, espeically the Arkham one, and the Wayne Manor level you don't even go into the Manor. That's the only really disappointing part of it for me. The best part of the game though? Getting Spoiler as a create character! Seriously man, I squealed when I saw that, Steph is to me what Babs is to you Maybe your plan didn't work, Mum is coming round to the idea of ordering one off Amazon or Ebay. Too bad it turns out she can't remember which one she ordered, so now I have to wait till tomorrow till she can call them and ask, then I can determine which one to get. In the mean time I bought Arkham Asylum by Grant Morrison at Birchalls. Desite my hatred of him it's still quite good, and the art is fascinating, definitely more enjoyable if you notice more things the second time. Only take symbolism from the actual story though (Madness is sometimes what makes us who we are, Our inner demons drive us but do not control us etc) and NOT the Grant Morrison script though. Seriously, it is the biggest load of trite you'll ever read and it just reinforces my hatred and bloodlust for him. I'll give you a quote later, it's actually quite amusing seeing him think that referencing something which also means something else which also means something else is a metaphor. No Morrison, referencing a goldfish, which can be seen as Pisces, which represents the Christian fish sign, which represents Christ's journey, which can be seen as a parallel to Osiris, who made a trip into the underworld like Batman makes a trip into Arkham, is not a metahpor. It is convoluted rubbish. What do you think of the story? Yes. I have a crush on you. Kidding, what a shocker huh? No, I just thought it was so anticlimactic. It's like when you said my name was totally unBatbricky, your look is just not Brainboxy! Speaking of looks though, my mother and I went out and picked a nice Leavers suit for me on Saturday. I have a lot of love for the 1920-1940s stylish period, so I bought a black suit with prominent white pinstripes, with a red striped tie and red handkerchief It actually is. Get a haircut you Hippie! No! It is NOT a moustache! You are wrong! I am right! Stephanie Brown is awesome! you are wrong! Okay, I'll get over it, but I still think it is not a moustache. You do like the fig though right? Cool, I'll post some other stories for you if you ever want them Please, that is peanuts to screwing up Leslie and Cass. After all, Cass used to be one of my favourite characters! Plus trying to make Tim Drake an angsty character is a joke, he was a brilliant character because he didn't have a tragic backstory! Plus Jonn Johnnz getting killed off too. Though I laughed at Superman's "We can only hope ofr a speed resurrection", it was awesome to see a DC character aware of how weirdly the universe works. Definitely. Marvel's "Hero you can relate to" policy was good at first, but now it gets ridiculous. That's why DC is great, in Superman you have the kind of hero everyone aspires to be. Plus Marvel made Peter forget his marriage and made Iron Man a fascist. Bah! The only fascist is Mark Millar! Speaking of Superman being a true hero, you should really watch those Marvel/Dc vids on Youtube, I swear the After hours arc was better than any Superhero movie ever. Oh, that's not good mate. Cute is not what you want. Batbrick Away!
  9. Nice idea, but I'm using mine for a young Gordon. My old Gordon has the same version but grey, which is cool. Yeah, but that chest torso is a must have for the Batfan! Think of how many shirtless Bat/Ra's swordfight scenes you could make with it Well, did you think of using the car as Bruce Wayne's? Batbrick Away!
  10. Hey what do you guys think about starting a "What should be in a supposed Lego Batman 2 game" thread? I tihnk it'd be neat. Also, I add Spoiler to my list. In fact, screw every character, I want Spoiler first. Batbrick Away!
  11. Gotta say I love those disco styled bits. The Danny Elfman theme in disco form is simply sweet, so cool it is in the game. Plus we get Spoiler as a create character! Nerdgasm! Batbrick Away!
  12. Thanks for the pic. Man I love that double sided face, so badass. She's so much like: "Screw this! I ain't waiting on nobody, I'll rescue myself!" Batbrick Away!
  13. Hello all, here I am back with so new Batfigs. I haven't been posting here much recently nor starting topics, but now that I've finished the Lego Batman game and got my affairs in order I'll be cooking some stuff up, as well as posting the next Interactive Apocalypse part soon! First though i want to share my new Batfigs. Some characters you may know, others you may not, but please comment anyway! Here we go then. Tim Drake's new Robin costume: This one is really simple but really effective I find, it also applies to any Robin who wore the red/black colours, basically an alternate costume like what batman has. Dr Arkham: I will admit I did take a portion of this idea form The Penguin. I haven't seen him for a while so I'll just say thanks for being an inspiration friend! Arkham inmates: Ah, nothing beats the orange jumpsuits: Gotta say I'm pretty pleased with this, I'm starting to treat the indy head as a generic face in my Bat world. Crispus Allen: Crispus Allen is a black cop in the GCPD Major Crimes Unit. He works alongside Renee montoya, and both a pretty major characters in the batverse that work with batman on occasions, saving his life and even solving the case before him. I cannot believe how long I've not realised this head was perfect for him. I always lamented it could've been Lucius with some differences, then after reading Gotham Central it hit me. The fact that he almost always wears orange glasses certainly clinched it Gotham Citizen V2: I made her look a little less evil and cranky basically, as noted by Brainbox and several others last time. Mr.Freeze's henchmen: Ridiculously simple, but I love expanding a villains workforce. we also see more of my use of the Indy head. Poison Ivy plant mutant: Her willing plant slave. I must say I'm pretty happy with him. I'm planning on making my own decal on the front as there is Dock Ock printing hidden behind him, as well as putting him in tan pant with sand green legs exposed to complete the effect. Scarecrow's Fear Gas Can: Simple but effective. So simple in fact that I think I only posted it to compete with the size of my other Minifig threads Ra's Al Ghul: I cut the decal out bad and will be rectifying this, but apart from that this guy is my personal favourite custom so far. As thought, the Speed Racer head works brilliantly, with the front wrinkles also working as those short hair goatee things he has, if a little short. So yeah, apart form the poorly placed on decal (which by the way, is a LOT more noticeable in photos than in real life) I'm very happy with him. And don't listen to Brainbox, Ra's doesn't have a moustache. Group shot with Ra's, Talia and Bruce: Oh and by the way, I don't care what anyone says, Ra's of the comics will always be ridiculously better as a character, villain and foil to Batman than in Batman Begins. Out of all the characters, Ra's is the one who I felt Nolan missed the mark with the most. Eh, sorry for that mini rant. Comments appreciated and thanks for looking! Batbrick Away!
  14. We haven't heard ANY news of the second half of the year sets, and Batman is ALWAYS in the second half of the year. We haven't got a list of Castle sets and we know they're coming too, so don't rule out Batman yet.
  15. It was very cool, I might post a few little Halloween things too. I already have a Batman Halloween vig as well. Too bad you can't even get Season 3, I really hope that becomes available eventually. Also, in the meantime one of my friends doesn't want his Lego anymore, so I'm buying bits of it, and he has a lot! He has two of the Harry Potter buses so I'm getting every purple piece he has for Joker and Riddler to enjoy, as well as all his tan for Wayne Manor. Naturally i'll also get hairpieces, minifig part and other bits that'll be useful. Oh that was horrible. No editing #5 gotcha, you just tell me when you send the next ones then The Hood is hilarious, one really must wonder how useful those photos could honestly be anyway One thing I do love about Thunderbirds is its focus on less flamboyant villains. I just watched Brink of disaster which was a great episode, I love that it had two problems going on at once: Lady Penelope being robbed and the monorail. Also great to see Jeff Tracy out in the field and bagging the crap out of the badguy. The bit with Parker and Penelope with the tommy guns and roundabout car were hilarious too. This ep also had great explosions. Also watched Vault of death a week ago, this is one of my favourite childhood memories and it is just as good now. Sheer comedy, especially with light fingered Freddie at the end, the ep was a brilliant show form start to finish. Did I imply that Trapped in the Sky wasn't good? Unfortunately, The Duchess Assignment is a while away, so don't spoil things! What kind of a retort is that? You're not even trying! Mad Hatter's speedboat is hilarious, I cracked up laughing when I saw it in action, it does NOTHING! I unlocked both the bonus levels too and must say I'm a bit disappointed. Are the bonus levels usually that basic? Yeah, rubbing it in is my style really. I'll share with you though Turns out for some reason I can't order Death and the City and The Man Who Laughs form the store, so hopefully I can convince mum to order the online, otherwise I'll have shot myself in the foot, and then put my foot in my mouth Bigger geek? Yes. Bigger Batgeek? Not for long! Muhahahahahaha! It gets that way doesn't it? was it a nostalgic item for you? I always get that way? Oh and btw, that pic of you in the Halloween thread is hilarious. Grrr. For the LAST time: Ra's does NOT have a moustache!!!!! (No seriously, I had to remind you of this last time as well) Speaking of Ra's though, here's one of his best stories ever: http://community.livejournal.com/scans_daily/4519136.html -part 1 http://community.livejournal.com/scans_daily/4523837.html -part 2 Oh very funny. But really, even you have to admit they're going a bit far as of recent? Batbrick Away!
  16. Okay, I've calmed down a bit and decided I actually like these. Are they perfect? No. Are they still good? Yes, I'm even considering that Driller set. The smallest one is a definite purchase especially given that it includes a fig and monster, and I'll probably get a larger one too. Still sad there's no red, but I'll get over it. Batbrick Away!
  17. Zis work is extraordinary master! I very much zink these creations are the epitome of what Halloween zould be about! Seriously though mate great stuff here. Love the Creayture from the depths, a spooky name for a spooky vig. Great job on the lighting and seaweed on this one. The Ghost Captain is also very cool, funny how simple the vig looks without the proper lighting and yet with it it takes on its own atmosphere. That wizard is really cool too, love how you've made that spiral of blood there, very simple yet totally effective technique. The Wolf one is also great (Why have you not made Manbat with that!?), I especially love the middle pic, the blur worked great for that one. Very cool Red Riding Hood vibes there, but you know, darker And last and best of all is the Batbrick/Brainbox collaboration. I laughed when I saw this, I expected something really complex and turns out you're scary enough already! Thanks for including me mate, but the best thing out of all this is that picture of you. Now I know what you look like! (And seriously, the only tell tale sign that you're actually a guy is that arm hair ) Oh, and a genius skeleton necklace too, works perfectly. Batbrick Away! :skull:
  18. Yeah, I'm really looking forward to that. If TLC drops the license I don't reckon it'll be a smart move, especially with the enormous popularity right now. We'll you can't have him! He doesn't really use weapons anyway, a sonic cannon against him would be cool though, like in the game but not a record player. Wayne Manor is certainly a definite, the best villains would be Ra's and Talia Al Ghul, as well as bodyguard Ubu, since they know Bruce Wayne's identity. Good idea, but I'd rather the same Clayface from the game myself. Batbrick Away!
  19. Wow! Wonderful stuff there BaronSat, definitely up to the same great quality as your other Batmobiles. Love the front and wings, as well as the pipe on the side. My only criticism is that I find the wheels a bit big, but overall that is one splendid car! Batbrick Away!
  20. , I guess I'm a tad predictable that way huh? Seriously though, the Indy sets are some of the best sets ever for parts packs and integration into other themes, no way hossay am I going to keep tohse gangsters out of my Batworld! Can't wait to see the reviews for these when they come out, especially the Flying Wing, I'm hoping for some nice little details there. Batbrick Away!
  21. That's made of all kinds of awesome. I want one! Seriously, some of the funnier and better news I've heard recently, cheers for posting! Batbrick Away!
  22. This is really good, your layout is brilliant and I can't place a fault on them. Brilliant idea for an entry, and I can see you've put a lot of thought into it. My favourite is the frist one though, the pattern of the walls and that innocent atmosphere is so rare in mocs, brilliant work! Batbrick Away!
  23. Sadly nothing for me, we don't really celebrate Halloween in Australia much. I do like to celebrate it on-board though, I'm planning on posting a late Halloween creation sometime. Batbrick Away!
  24. Yes it is, you said this: Which implies that you thought it sounded similar. TrooperDavinFelth answered that they don't sound similar to him. Sounds right to me. Anyway I love the game, currently at 74%, and all the characters are really fun to play. I certainly hope a second one is made! Batbrick Away!
  25. Plus how easy will it be to convert the Tan car to Bruce Wayne's and the gangster one to a, well, gangster one? I don't see anything wrong with the plane set, but if you have any sense you'll buy one for that torso, for a training Bruce or anyone else. Batbrick Away!
