Just watched a premier screening of Wolfman, and apparently I'm one of the first in the world to see it! I really enjoyed the highly old school feel with the dialogue and shadows and fog, but the finale was considerably weaker than the rest. Still, very enjoyable, a much better popcorn movie than more expensive efforts. Batbrick Away!

I don't like him that much either but I feel you're not really giving him due credit. Talk all oyu want about the Batvoice (it's pretty terrible) but he does a great Bruce Wayne both facade and without facade. Have you watched American Psycho of The Machinist? He's quite good in those. I thought Johansson was worse in The Prestige. The entire nurse scene was a great moment for me, and becomes doubly funny when one finds out the whole thing was an improvisation. The "Slaughter is the best medicine!" slogan was classic Hamill as well. The "you never start with the head the victim gets all fuzzy and can't feel any - see?" part got me too. I did enjoy him stuffing his face with the fancy food and wine while making threats too, just for the sheer Joker melodrama. I do admit the Joker should have been funnier, but they really nailed both his nihlistic view of the world and his relationship with Batman as shown in the interrogation scene and finale with him hanging upside down (nice metaphor for their opposing views), some lines of which are similar to classic comics and BTAS quotes. Are you for real or is this just some joke? I'm genuinely confused by what you are saying, do you seriously, really, honestly in all truth think that in Western made films no one should speak their own language? That a war movie set in France involving Germans, Americans and Frenchmen should have only english as the language spoken? Also, I will defend TDK, I know Siegfried already is against it because he hates Bale. I understand that because I can't stand Brad Pitt and even I don't know why. That said, just as there are many incarnationso f the Dark Knight so is there many of the Joker. While I personally prefer Mark Hamill's take and the recent Brave and the Bold classic trickster versions, aside from a lack of bleach the TDK Joker was almost a direct translation of the more modern Joker, who while funny is also genuinely repulsive and sick and while very theatrical is still a bit more "urban". My main criticisms with the film were the phone cell thing and the lack of any female characters after Rachel dies. I did love how its ultimate message was one for the audience to decided though, too many films end on a "And that's why the bad guys never win" note. It gets too much praise (Top 10 films on imdb? Seriously?) but also I think the negative reactions are quite strong. I think it sits somewhere in the middle as a very good film that is certainly not without flaws. Just to keep this relevant I'll add whatever that recent rom-com film with Vince Vaugh and Reese Witherspoon was called, I hate embarrassment based comedy. Batbrick Away!

I'll third, Inglorious was great because it didn't fall to that stupid, stupid Hollywood cliche of non-English speakers speaking English. I watch all 74 episodes of Monster in Japanese and by the third episode in you don't even notice you're watching people speak Japanese because all you really need is the emotion in the voice to get the meaning behind the subtitles. Anyway, I'll add X-men Origins: Wolverine, a big mess of a film that completely screwed over one of the greatest comic book characters; Deadpool. Batbrick Away!

Later? AAARRRGGHH! Nah, I'm good, you're easily one of the most listening and humble webcomic creators I've ever talked to KDog and my kudos to you for it. Thanks for the replies. I laughed at the Lost references, I got through the first 3 seasons before giving up but make sure you give us an idea whether or not it was all worth it by the end. The most recent parts had me cracking up way more than can be healthy though, I was really surprised at how horrified I truly was at the mere prospect of Robert Downey Jr NOT playing Iron Man! Even more scary is the prospect of Keanu "Wooden" Reeves playing him instead! Gargh! The fact that he's playing the lead character Spike Spiegel in the upcoming adaptation of one of the best animes ever - Cowboy Bebop - still brings on the tears some nights... Batbrick Away!

Transformers 2, goo grief do I regret seeing that film in the cinema. It was utterly vacant, no good comedy, no good action, no good story (or any at all for that matter), tiring jitter cam and the most unlikeable characters. It also had quite a few racist and sexist tones that whether intentional or not irked me to no end. Batbrick Away!

Yeah, every damn film nominated is American, I wish there wasn't a "Foreign Film" category and instead the judges just considered all films regardless of production location. Same for Animated feature, the only time a foreign film won was with Spirited Away, and while I'm a week or so off from seeing it I hear its only because it was so good it blows the mind! Indeed, the Al Gore Futurama reference was a hoot too! The vehicle is great as well, bulky but in a good way and the engines look horrifically powerful! Batbrick Away!

No problem, it gets me up in the morning I more meant that I've noticed that your stories are taking more and more parts to tell recently. While I can't comment on this one at the moment since I have no idea where it's headed in terms of story, I must sadly gripe that some of the recent stories, while filled with the best characterisation and interactions up to this point, do seem to be rather padded out and lengthier than necessary. It's not so much the amount of time for each strip that irks me, I have no delusions of you "owing" us anything (if anything we owe you!) but upon re-reading ones such as the smurfs story I felt a more compressed form would've made for much better rapid-fire gags rather than stretching it out. Again though, I must stress these are only my opinions and I don't want to offend your work or anything. In fact you've inspired me to very slowly work towards creating my own comics! Hooray! I very much look forward to it thankyou! Also, "continuity porn", you haven't been trapped on Tv Tropes have you? Anyhoo, my reviews (late again sorry). 14: Naturally I can sense something bad happening, only Ronald could make an impossibility. A long one, but not a lot happening, though I did laugh at how "subtle" the parellels were to a certain current film franchise. Ps: I agree somewhat less aggressively 15: Gargh! Time Cruisers! It's like a whacked out Delorean! I'm amazed out how many themes you manage to fit into this comic actually, hat's off to you! 17: I trust you meant 16 right? That sliding fish slap was very sweet, positioning was good. I must be tired though as it took me a while to get the last joke. Batbrick Away!

Very cool Oky, I love the sheer amount of purple in this moc, though the different coloured purple technic piece stands out a bit. The engine looks great, but my favourite touch is the license plate. The use of the top of the big Zurg's head for the mobile is wonderfully inspired as well, fantastic stuff! Batbrick Away!

Yay my good friend iamded is still alive! And what a fantastic post-post-apocalyptic creation you've made here, definitely my favourite yet. I must really stress how much I love your new genre (I swear you've invented it), in fact I'm so jealous of it I wish I hadn't gone with such a cliche route with my IA. The idea just works, like that "darkest before the dawn" feel with the last threat of the Necrobots looming. You've definitely improved as a builder bud, while you were always my better when making solid wall construction this is superb, and the holes look great. The grey tiles across the sides is really inspired, and the arch inside is surprisingly sinister, you've managed to inject a lot of the Necrobot's cold, harsh threat into their architecture. The outside with the adventurers, details like the dead and mutant plants alongside a mud patch keep things interesting. The addition of the debris and flames also looks great, especially the sneaky way you've attached them there. However it is the inside of the Factory that is most amazing to me. The acid bath is one of my most favourite details I've ever seen in a moc, the green flames work wonders for it and I even sincerely winced for that Lego man. How much do those green flames go for? Can I have a link please if you ordered them? (though since you made this at dragonator's place I should probably talk to him). The checkerboard patterning on the floor is a very simple but very appropriate scheme as well, and I love the skeleton foot and hands of the victim (useless organs indeed! :skull:) The cranes look very cool, their design is interesting and unique. Not something I would have thought of, but most definitely better off for it, along with the pipe. The conveyor belt is something I've always wanted to do and sadly never got to. I now regret this more than ever because clearly the result is astounding. The next room is not quite as fun as the first, but is suitably even more cold and inhuman than the first which I relish. The simple wooden tables was certainly an unexpected move but works much better and efficiently (how I'd imagine the Necrobots would function) than any of that overdone twiddle I do. The pens of human skeletons comes off as even chilling despite being Lego, is this thing powered by nightmare fuel of something? A wonderful detail with the Necrobot noticing the hole in the wall, and the minimum lighting (in the moc, not yours) is great too. Wonderful group figs you've got there too, I remember your human minifigs would often be the most bland part of your mocs (though still quite good) but these are a great improvement. The greenshirt and hooded tusken raider torsoed man are my favourites, though I got a kick out of the crazy chaingun woman Interesting to hear of the Necrobots back story too, I don't believe you've ever revealed their origins before have you? Maybe you did but I was just distracted by the pretty of your creations Not much negative things I can think of saying honestly mate, outside of there not being more of it or oyu not cranking these out fast enough. Great ot see you again and I always love seeing more of your wonderful new genre! Batbrick Away!

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
Batbrick replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I give it 3 episodes before it bombs due to "translation". What is it with American programmes? Do they think their nation is stupid and can't handle an accent or something? Grief! Bombed with Red Dwarf, bombed with Kath and Kim, bombed with Fawlty Towers, bombed with Spaced, sucked with Life on Mars and it'll do the same with tihs. Calling it. Grrr. Batbrick Away! -
Love the look of the later set and the creatures look suitably menacing. The new fig is very mysterious and I love all the different trolls that Lego is making. "Trolls" that is However I'm awaiting pics on the big set, as that will be the only one for me to consider buying, and its delay in having a good picture further fuels my fervent fandom for its fleeting findings. Wow, that last part was on drugs, ignore that Batbrick Away!

Just gotta say Mr Spielbrick, despite hating The End of Time with an unholy passion of loathing that could fuel a thousand great suns, your Rassilon figure is mindblowingly awesome. He just needs a clear end on the staff I think. Batbrick Away!

Wolverine claws make me smile, I'll be using them for other purposes though. Agreed with others, floppy arm skeletons is one of the best sights to see, I have about 25 warrior types anyway so I gladly welcome back the more poseable dead. Batbrick Away!

I must apologise again KDog, I've been ridiculously lazy recently. As promised, my shot reviews of the comics I've missed: Part 4: Great exposition on Mikey and Ronald's parents and the new mystery of their fathewr. The cement mixer joke was great because while it was predictably going to be something mundane, a cement mixer was certainly the last thing I'd thought of. Part 5: Shorter than before but still sweet, I must say I love the chemistry you manage to set up with all your characters, here My Wobbly Droid providing the more logical side to Ronald's tangents. Masoch: Good grief was this terrifying and hilarious at the same time. I think my favourite part was "A hook? This sounds promising!" Part 6: Good to see the time travel plot getting straight in now, I loved Wobbly's line "I'm not sure that's the most logical conclusion sir" Part 7: Another short one but sweet, I liked this part better than the short part 5, and the return of the triple-decker chicken-cheese porkburger gag was neat, I love the returning jokes. Part 8: My favourite strip at this point easily, the fish slap comes out of nowhere and is just comedy gold. By the by, the setup while simply works really well and I find you've lit this part very well. Part 9: Nice reference to the Matt Smith Doctor Who here (I'm presuming that's what it is?). The last line of a song about irony lacking irony being brilliant in its own irony, in fact just being retarded was another favourite line of this story, Part 10: Great jokes in this one, I was somewhat skeptical of The Doctor appearing in this comic but you've really pulled him off as a fun character, especially with his mentions of the Achievement Wh0rz conundrum and his 80's CD collection. Part 11: The last line of this was juicily foreshadowing. i must say my favourite line is Mr Wobbly's "sensitive subject" one, reminding the readers that though this is a very funny work, it still has a lot of other emotions and serious subject matter, which I love. Part 12: Bill Clinton's appearance was great (Canadian bit especially), but the real meat was Shwartz' idea of becoming president. I know it was an afterthought, but I'm firmly convinced that the inclusion of the nuclear explosion turned that joke from a mere smirk on my face to a full blown laugh at my seat. Part 13: Nice short little one, the gag isn't as funny, but that is because some of the comic's best have come just in previous parts. A couple of quibbles, such as the need to return to Date Night (the time line of where Shwartz is at is getting a little warped at this point), the story also appears to be moving a bit slow, but not much else to say, I feel you're really riding well on your own experience right now, you've got character interactions down to a comedic and emotional and believable tee. Kudos. Batbrick Away!

I'm sort of looking forward to this despite my personal investment in the original. The effects look good, but two things are bugging me; 1. Kraken. Dear grief the Kraken isn't even in Greek mythology! 2. The real bug though is that I hear Hades is being the villain. How very original. I mean c'mon, I know it's easy to write a villain who already has a dark look and motif (the dead) but I much preferred the idea of that being someone else not as obvious. Batbrick Away!

Fantastic, looks so much like the film version! The stickers are perfect, and the transparent top is very faithful. Now put a Tyrannosaurus next to it! Batbrick Away!

Infinite Space. Infinite Terror. Event Horizon.
Batbrick replied to Legostein's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Very neat and accurate model to the ship. I saw the film recently and while the first half was really good I felt it never took the step to go further, the scene where the ship starts leaking blood should have been the start of all sorts of psychologically assassinating imagery on the ship. Nevertheless, this is a great little mini. Batbrick Away! -
Ah yes, I had forgotten about this topic.....embarrassed Thanks guys. Still, glad to be back and hope my friends are still floating around here somewhere. Batbrick Away!

Bwahahahaha! I got a massive laugh from that hilarious brick joke with the irony there. Sorry to have taken so long to get back KDog, I was on vacation fishing at my shack and got back a couple of days ago. rest assured your comic was one of the first things I read and I got a heap of laughs from the Masoch one. Will be sure to post my thoughts on each one I missed shortly! Batbrick Away!

That little set is perfection! The claws are fantastic and I'll be sure to find some character to use them on in my Batman world. If we do get a floppy arm skeleton I will be very pleased as well. Batbrick Away!

It's more beautiful than I ever imagined! So glad you accepted my challenge (I think it was mine anyway) Oky, and my what a fabulous vehicle you've constructed! The use of the bubble cockpit really works, and the massive flames at the back are wonderful! Excellent use of colour too, I wouldn't change anything myself. I voted for Zurg mech, I can see something really cool coming from that. Batbrick Away!

Hmm, good points, though Harry Potter will give me my fleshie figs for at least another year I love the thought of Indy returning, I need a Sallah fig with his camels! Batbrick Away!
