  1. Hey guys, have just come back recently from a week and a half vacation up at Anson's Bay Tasmania. There I had to endure the travesties of no power bar some needed for the fridge and oven, and a longdrop which had spiders lurking in it. Still, I managed to have a blast a my shack, as we went craypotting and got some in my pot. Sadly the winds were quite southerly so our catches with fish were not quite to our expectations, and some commercial crayfish lifted our pots a couple of time as we found white paint chips on the edge of them. Also got burnt a heap and nearly died on the most humid day of my life, which was then followed on that night by the biggest lightning storm I have ever seen in the distance lighting up the sky upon turning New Years. So it was a nice break, but I'm glad to be back. Has anything interesting or newsworthy happened in my absence? Things seem slower than the last few times when I would always find a ton of new set discoveries on the front page. And just to make this topic a little less wasted, what are some of your worst and best vacation experiences? Batbrick Away!
  2. Well I thought it was a load of fanwank on behalf of writer Russel T Davies really, read more like a self congratulatory fan fiction that an actual finale. Where did the Master "taking over the world" plot (easily the most fun part of the episode) even go? Freaking nowhere, that's where! Like every single one of Davie's finales, everything is just hit by a big ole reset button. It wasn't even explained how Rassilon even knew that the aster would have that in store for them, because he didn't, so him just undoing everything the Master did doesn't make any sense. The whole thing didn't have a coherent plot (as said, eliminate the "I'm everyone" subplot and the ending doesn't change really). I guess after four finales of seeing the single worst plot devices in history being used with glee (the deus ex machina and reset button) there was no way I could enjoy the finale of another like them. Atleast those ones had the wonderful scale of millions of Daleks, The End of Time has a quick flash of Gallifrey heading toward Earth which isn't nearly as exciting frankly, than if we'd actually seen more Time Lords. I could go on, ragging on the ending that makes Return of the King seem short in comparison, the overindulgence and gaping plotholes, but I'll just leave with this; Why didn't Rassilon just shoot the Doctor? He stands there doing nothing for five minutes then gets foiled when he has a freakin' KILL YOU DEAD hand thing! Batbrick Away!
  3. Brilliant continuity porn right there! Found the original strip All Better, great callback. Of course I realise this has no possibility of ending well. Batbrick Away!
  4. Great scene, I'm really, really, really looking forward to this. Pixar has done a great job aging the human characters, Andy's baby sister grown up caught me quite off guard. The characters still sound so right, there is no way I'm missing out on this in the theatre. Batbrick Away!
  5. Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all have a great day and enjoy the coming of the new year! Batbrick Away!
  6. You're beautiful! Looks to me like the Portal of Atlantis might have some new "king" figure at the top perhaps? Batbrick Away!
  7. Too much. But going off memory: I think - and hope - that's it. Batbrick Away!
  8. The Shawshank Redemption, a true masterpiece that I'll always love. Batbrick Away!
  9. Sounds interesting, I hope its real, I'm all over superheroes myself Batbrick Away!
  10. Fantastic new castle wave! I really love the look of this, a big step up from the more recent disappointments. I'll definitely be getting both those fantastic impulses, the jester one especially. The smaller one look great as well, I love that "unicorn" armour horn on the horse there. The larger sets look magnificent however, a fantastic new style that leaps truly ahead of my expectations! Unfortunately I doubt I'll be getting the larger ones as I'm trying to save money and stick closer to my goals of making a Batman world. However if that brown and dark green tower is not too expensive and contains smaller and very useful parts like it looks I may have to shell-out. Batbrick Away!
  11. I didn't even know it was possible to have a lazy revelation, but somehow Ronald has done it. Something isn't going to go over well here. For osme reason I always laugh when Mr Wobbly Droid's name is mentioned, and the lopsided hats make me chuckle oddly too. Batbrick Away!
  12. Very nice, very appropriate namesake given its looks, I love it. Batbrick Away!
  13. Space Police Station is finally made and looks awesome. Can't make nay great details though, don't know how Magma can see anything. Love the look of the other two sets but I'll still reserve my judgement. Batbrick Away!
  14. Loving the look of these, if that Atlantis temple turns out half as good as it looks in that pictures than screw that other gateway sey, I'll be getting this one since it appears to have Cthulhu in it! The Atlantis base looks very good and well constructed, but doesn't catch my eye because I don't need red. Underwater scorpion is made of win in my book but I'll need a closeup to be sure. Batbrick Away!
  15. Looks much better than I thought it would be, I love the variety of vehicles. I won't likely get many since I'm not into making vehicles at the moment, but I'll atleast pick up that motorbike one that looks to be very nice. Batbrick Away!
  16. Fantastic, I love the smooth design, epseiclaly the rounded bottom and overlapping walls. The surrounding scenery is great too, I think it looks great studded, and the sheep are magnificent. Batbrick Away!
  17. Fantastic sets for a partsmonkey like me! I can't wait to tear those apart to integrate them into some other creation! Having seen the smallest set I'm definitely getting that one, the tan bush looks great. The ostrich races is a must-get as well, especially since I'll get another fleshie shirtless, allowing me to do a Batman vs Ra's swordfight finally! All the figs will be useful for Ra's army as well. The next set is also a must-get for me, four figs and a camel is very good. The girl will be very useful, as will be the camel for Ra's, and there is a good amount of tan thatm akes me very happy. The cave set looks good, but nothing convincing me to purchase it. The fortress also looks amazing and perfect for Ra's, but as I'd like to build my own (Ra's is a Batman villain btw) then unless it doesn't have many large pieces and is also full of really useful ones I'll most likely not shell out the dollars for this one. Batbrick Away!
  18. Thanks for sending them to me. Batbrick Away!
  19. Awesome, I should have actually realised this, since a lot of small details have actually become part of the overall story. Clever. Batbrick Away!
  20. Only in Japan would something this awesome be made! Batbrick Away!
  21. Because the brickbuilt manta looks much better, has greater colour variety, can easily be built by someone who doesn't get the set and even has a wings function. Batbrick Away!
  22. Thanks for that info, much appreciated, I'll try and hunt them down as they will be most useful for a moc I'm working on Batbrick Away!
  23. *breathes in* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! This is terrible! The only saving grace I can possibly imagine is if Lego sets are made and they are as good as the Crystal Skull ones. Also, source please? *faints* Batbrick Away!
  24. As long as there is some sweet fleshie faces to have count me in. Batbrick Away!
  25. Watched Back to the Future recently, a wonderfully classic Sci-fi comedy film with some very classic bits, such as the flux capacitor and time traveling Delorean. My favourite character is Doc. Emmet Brown, simply for the hilariously manic dialog he spouts as he chews on the scenery. Plus, it helps that he's voiced by Christopher Lloyd. Also, finally watched Terminator 2: Judgement Day! Absolutely flipping fantastic to the eleventh degree, a vast improvement over the first one which is great on its own. I'm totally ignoring any more sequels though as they really undermine the message of this one. The effects were brilliant on the liquid Terminator, helped strangely by the first effects shot looking rather unconvincing, with the rest being wonderful. The development of the T-800 was great, as it played against my expectations by not having him become "human" or experience emotions, but simply respect and understand them, which was clever and not cheap like it could've been if it went the other way. Batbrick Away!
