  1. This might have been the best time to be alive as a LEGO kid. The last year of the Legoland banner, great set designs, new headgear, tons of variety. Multiple Space factions (Space Police, Blacktron, M-Tron), multiple Castle factions (Forestmen, Black Falcons, Lion Knights), and PIRATES which was a newish theme at the time.

  3. Wow! Your designs are getting better and better! Loving the last few iterations especially.
  4. That last one, with Kings Castle and the Robot Command Center really tug at the old heart strings. Will LEGO never give us something like those again? Innocent, whimsical, and archetypal themes? Also, LEGO could make an AWESOME modern Fabuland theme with the all new Friends/Elves elements.
  5. I think we can all agree to that!
  6. You picked well; those are two of the best sets from the Theme. Bug Obliterator is a spaceship/ground vehicle combiner so you can't really beat that. The Titan is sort of the same idea but it can't take off into space when combined. The Hive Crawler is probably the most impressive of the theme from a design/engineering standpoint due to the walking mechanism. Plus the human speeder is way cool.
  7. 40th Anniversary Minifigure Tribute/Thank You to Life Long Customers SPACE MINIFIG Gender: Neutral. Occupation/print on torso: Classic Space logo Type of headgear: New reinforced mold of original Lego helmet (i.e. Benny's with no molded break) Type of facial expression: Classic Smiley Color on torso/legs: Red Accessory: Classic space gun/camera
  8. I like it! Very original design. Looks like the wings adjust for flight too.
  9. Your set (no sold prices like you already noticed): https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=375-2#T=P Some other similar sets: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=6074-1#T=P https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=6073-1#T=P https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=6080-1#T=P https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=6085-1#T=P https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=6081-1#T=P I'd guess it'd be in the ballpark of those. Possibly more since it's the OG Lego castle, but maybe not if people have more nostalgia for the later 80's castles. Hard to say.
  10. And only 4 minifigs. The new Cloud City has 18. Minifigs always make sets more expensive.
  11. I don't have a dog in this fight but people complaining about the price need to understand that the "10 pieces per dollar" standard goes out the window when you have lots of large bricks. And this set is full of them. Multiple large plates and wedge plates, large round quarter panels, large curved slopes, etc. The size of the brick matters.
  12. Whoa. That wall and floor.
  13. Oh man if they did this for Space and Castle I'd be over the moon! Just need one great Black Falcons set, then Forest Men, then Lion Knights. The best part about Themed Creator sets is that they'd be great to buy in multiples. You'd want to have one set for each of the three builds, plus all the minifigs and parts would be super useful for MOCing within the theme.
  14. I think Mars Mission has aged somewhat well, besides the crappy alien figures. Pros: Good designs for the human vehicles -- the drill walker is legitimately awesome Classic Space logo Space! Cons: Story based on a single real planet; limiting Alien vehicles were kinda lame and were forced into each set for "conflict" Smaller alien figs were super lame No air tanks?! Not a huge fan of orange Bronzed visors look kinda cheap IMO; should have been trans orange or blue
  15. I'll say it before and I'll say it again. Space. Themed. Creator. Sets. They'd only need one set a year to make old fans happy and they could change the theme for each set (Blacktron, Ice Planet, etc). The sets would ideally have no stickers, classic style minifigs, and a couple of printed bricks -- like existing Creator sets. And they'd have the usual alternate builds, reusable parts, and interesting build techniques. I'd hope each set would have a ship, rover/mech, and base build, with a few different wind screens. Total win for everybody.
  16. The catalog image above says M:Tron uses "the power of magnets to locate and transport vital resources." Not specifically mining but could encompass or complement mining. However, no drills. A mining faction with no drills is pretty much nonsensical.
  17. It's funny how as an 80s kid I used to think Blacktron were just misunderstood dudes with black spaceships. They have certainly become more terrifying with the passage of time! Also never would have though of bananas as demon horns but it totally works.
  18. You're probably right. I'm just enjoying the small hope before it's crushed.
  19. Robot Pilot! Wow. I really like those vehicles! Supported. It's within the realm of possibility. They already remade the "cracked" version for Benny. A new non-cracked version would be a god-send. I'm hoping it happens for the new movie!
  20. As a Space nut, all I care about is what Classic Space throwback, if any, we're gonna get. A Classic-style moon base would be cool, or a rover, or maybe a spaceship in 1981 colors.
  21. Exactly what I was going to say. Nice job Magma!
  22. I really liked the trailer. If we get some Mad Max style sets, another Benny set, and some "Sistar" space sets, I'll be a happy camper!
  23. Ah, there it is. Thanks.
