Lego 90 year set voting split and throughts
danth replied to durazno33's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I totally agree! But I'm super biased. Space is my favorite. And boy am I thirsty for more Space. -
So if Lego could use the (recently in use) constraction/ccbs molds, and produce pieces in the appropriate colors for Bionicle, do you think Bionicle fans would prefer a set using those over something more System-based?
-
Sorry, I meant as a possible parts selection for a new Bionicle set. Along with some new molds for masks or what not. Not "Bionicle fans should be happy to make MOCs with those parts instead of getting new sets." It pisses me off when people do me like that when it comes to Space. :) Or maybe you got that and think the SW constraction parts aren't suitable for Bionicle at all.
-
So aren't there enough constraction/buildable fig pieces floating around to make a pretty good Bionicle figure? Like from the Star Wars figs from two years ago? Maybe you'd just need a few new pieces for masks or weapons. Then add in some Technic parts? I'm not a Bionicle fan so I don't know if that would work. But it seems like it would. I guess my question is, why would it have to be System at all?

Unofficial 90th Anniversary Fan Vote Poll Suggestion
danth replied to astral brick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Depends on which other entries. Pirates got two sets last year and Castle is getting two this year. Pirates also got an entire theme in 2015. Space and Castle both got themes in 2013. So that puts Space as definitely most due of the three for a new set. Bionicle got a new theme in 2016! So of all those, Space by far is the most due. -
Printing 2x2 tiles is dirt cheap guys.

Unofficial 90th Anniversary Fan Vote Poll Suggestion
danth replied to astral brick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Benny's Spaceship was seven years ago. And included a magical unicorn cat. As for Benny's Space Squad, does that even count as a "set"? It's a battle pack, sure, but the builds are like 12 pieces each. I mean, it's not anything that can take the place of an Ideas set. -
Unofficial 90th Anniversary Fan Vote Poll Suggestion

What you talking 'bout Willis? -
Yeah I kinda feel bad for Castle fans. They basically won, or should have, but aren't in the top 3. But then again they're getting two sets this year, the Ideas blacksmith shop and the Creator castle. Well, at least I'm hoping the Creator castle is very Classic Castle-like (and no I don't mean yellow). Now if Pirates takes the lead in the final vote, I'm going to be super jealous because they got two sets last year. Again, Ideas and Creator. Next year really should be Space's turn.
-
Yeah, there is no way Bionicle fans are going to want something like tha-- Well I'll be damned. Was not expecting that. I mean, I wouldn't want a Classic Space set made out of Technic or whatever. How many Bionicle fans would go for something like that you think?

There were a couple books, one came out a few years back with a small classic spaceship build, and one came out last fall I think with an orange spaceman. There's also the Exo Suit. I guess another one is the employee set (?) with the tiny monorail throwback among other things.

Don't worry, I wasn't really being serious with that comment. I know there are a ton of serious Bionicle fans. I still think it appears suspicious when multiple new accounts with names like "SexyBionicle420" appear just to vote for Bionicle. Sure, it's explainable by the nature of the Bionicle fanbase. But it's also explainable by cheating. I'm sure LEGO's tech people can figure out if the vote is being gamed. YES! Why was Fabuland not included anyway?

Very awesome! I love the car aesthetic from that game. Basically slightly futuristic 80's cars. This one strikes me as an F-40/Testarossa mashup.

Didn't catch the dripping sarcasm?

My prediction: Bionicle will win, mostly due to sockpuppet accounts created by a few people, LEGO will make a mostly System-based Bionicle set, Bionicle fans will hate it, non-Bionicle fans will hate, it will be a massive failure, and LEGO will never try this sort of AFOL outreach again.

I said it's not a Space theme. Sure, it might be a space theme, but those are two totally different things! But anyway, you know what I mean. And more seriously, anyone who thinks Star War is Space, feel free to go to https://brickset.com/sets/theme-Space and tell me how many Star Wars sets you find listed. I'll give you a hint. It's zero! Or go to https://www.bricklink.com/catalogTree.asp?itemType=S and click on Space and tell me how many Star Wars sets you get. Again -- zero! Star Wars is not Space.
-
That would have made this set 100% more exciting for me. And I don't want to hear any excuses about how a freakin' torso print would be "too expensive". Dear Lego: This is how you make up for a missing goat!

The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)

It's not a real minifig, it's just a render for a Ninjago card. There's no proof it will be an actual minifig.- 991 replies

The minifigs look awesome. Almost like civilians from an unlicensed Space theme. Well, not sure about Ice Cream guy. Also is Vidiyo really "licensed"? Also can we rename this thread so I can actually find it? The theme is Vidiyo right?
-
There hasn't been a Space theme since 2013. That was Galaxy Squad. And no, neither Star Wars nor City space shuttles are Space themes. Anyway, I want to see the rest of the results! I want to know the total votes for Space and Castle themes.

LEGO Creator 2021 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
danth replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
So bigger pics of the Space Mining Mech and I think I actually "get it" now; the blue thing under the windscreen is, I think, a brick-built helmeted head of a human astronaut. Which isn't something I'd ever expect. I mean, have they done a brick-built person in Creator? It's usually minifigs. -
As in every thread on any forum about toys ever, the critical comments are reasonable and justified, and the comments complaining about the critiques are antagonistic and irritating. Look, if anyone wants to worship an infallible god, there's always church. But Eurobricks ain't one, I hope. People might want to just accept the fact that others may be more critical than they are, and get over it.

Yes but that was over 6 years ago and included a talking unicorn/cat.
