  1. It probably came down to the reception of those shows vs. the reception of Mando. 🫤
  2. Both of these sound excellent! Grogu’s Escape is definitely going to include at least one Clone to provide conflict; my guess is 501st over Coruscant Guard, just because I cannot see LEGO putting Shock Troopers into a pseudo-battle pack when the gunship will have only just been released a few months prior. The ā€œsuper battle packā€ is described as being similar to the original 501st one, so I am not expecting more than four true Minifigures - Maybe four Clones, two B2s, and four B1s to make the ā€œup to ten Minifigsā€? Promobricks is speculating that it will be a sidecar BARC, which fits the price ($30). I actually could see this. Deal! It seems that the cuteness and marketability of Grogu surpasses the dark nature of Order 66! We are not going to get Clones in a different style from what we have been getting since 2020. The most ā€œmovie accurateā€ that they could be is to have scuff marks on their armour (like the 212th in the AT-TE), but even that seems far less likely than just repeats of the battle pack figures.
  3. Pics of the Hawkeyes are out, and the bow piece is new (same part for both)! It looks good, but too modern for a Medieval setting, IMO.
  4. We got follow up sets for Mando Seasons 1 and 2, and we need Thrawn and Ezra!
  5. The limbs on the new part look too thick to be this one, and it would be inaccurate since Kate uses a recurve in the show (so there is no reason for LEGO to revive a mould that has not been used since 2016). Agreed.
  6. I am quite confused, but what I seem to be getting from this interaction is that maybe the battle pack has a sidecar BARC as the build? I could see that, especially given the rumoured $30 price.
  7. Really? It looks too thick to be the existing recurve bow piece.
  8. Unlikely; both Blade Runner movies are rated R (Dune is PG-13). 🫤
  9. As much as I would love to get two new bow moulds in one CMF series, I feel it is more likely that both Hawkeyes use the same part, albeit in different colours.
  10. I absolutely agree about the Imperial Commandos, etc, though I feel like they could appear in a larger set (as with the Dark Troopers) - Maybe Mythosaur Bo and Mando vs. Moff and two Imperial Commandos? A piece of Gideon's base and Grogu's IG-mech could be the build. A New Republic pack would tie into Ahsoka (giving Baylan and Shin people to fight), as well as be our only/main source for NR troops (as nothing else that would be a set has appeared yet, aside from the blue A-wing). Can you give us a hint as to which Clone unit will be represented in the set?
  11. Those are BrickLink names, not official names, though; LEGO would just call the Minifigs by their regular names. Alternatively, if LEGO did give them version names, the descriptor would likely be at the beginning rather than the end (e.g. ā€œLife Day Reyā€, not ā€œRey Life Dayā€). I feel like this is unlikely in a pack rumoured to have B2s, since the most prominent appearances of P2 Shinies and plain Commandos has been in TBB. If (that is a very big ā€˜if’ given Lifebricks’ track record!) the Clone/Droid pack is a $30 ā€œsuper battle packā€, then we could still get 1-2 $20 packs for other factions (New Republic seems like an obvious candidate).
  12. That would work if the mask is printed, but the only way to do the mask as a print and avoid the weird exposed neck is to use a black/dark bley head. It would be great if we got both masked and unmasked heads for the characters, but I doubt that LEGO is going to make eight new heads for this set! 🫤 I am imagining a rectangular diorama based on the harvester scene with just the corner of a sandworm at one edge, then dunes and clear parts to mount the ornithopter on the rest of the plate; the quote could be Kynes’ ā€œBless the Maker and His water. . .ā€. If they are going to cut the size down that much, then they could just make the small two-seat ā€˜thopter instead of scaling down the Atreides one. Also, what would the side-builds be that are both substantial enough to take up a large portion of the set, but also small enough to to be included alongside a decently-sized vehicle?
  13. It does appear to be! It remains to be seen if it will be useful for historical MOCs, however, as it might be intended to represent modern bows (since the existing part looks outdated when used for Hawkeye).
  14. Agreed - Lifebricks is decidedly not reliable! That said, I would love to see a 212th pack (2x Regular, 1x Specialist, 1x Airborne) with a crab droid. In addition to Finn having a blue lightsaber (possibly the Skywalker saber?), he also has a last name! It seems rather long and similar in appearance to the last name Rey has, so could Finn be a Skywalker as well?
  15. There are actually three ornithopter models in the movie - Atreides (angular and light with eight wings), Harkonnen (bulky and more rounded with six wings), and the two-seater that Kynes gives Paul and Jessica (CS yellow bubble cockpit, four wings). The one most likely to be in the set is the Atreides model, IMO. Speaking of Classic Space, does anyone else think that the Galaxy Explorer canopies could be used for the ā€˜thopter’s cockpit (one on each side, mounted via SNOT)? šŸ¤”
  16. That, and the fact that basically everything in Dune is so massive that LEGO renditions would have to be severely underscaled. This can work for Star Wars, as the vehicles have iconic shapes, but Dune’s vehicles and structures have a very brutalist, geometric, design that would be difficult to translate into playscale (or even UCS scale) sets. My guess is dark grey and black for Paul/Leto/Gurney, and light grey printed over tan for Kynes. Paul can get by with a reused head, but the other three need new prints. That would honestly be worse than a poorly-reused hairpiece, since stillsuit hoods are so form-fitting that the only way to make them would be either via a printed head (ew!) or a pair of new moulds for the mask and hood (though the Dragons Rising hood could be used). I suspect that the masks will either be printed on the reverse of the heads, or just on the torsos to represent them hanging down (which is scene-accurate, if the set is based on the harvester scene). Maybe, but I really think that a chunk of desert needs to be included; as with Avatar, the environment and landscape of Dune plays such a significant role in the story and visuals that excluding it would make the set feel oddly incomplete.
  17. Wow!! Are we sure that this is real, and not just a misidentified UCS Wakandan Dragon Flyer? If this is legit, I am curious about the size; the Ornithopter is a fairly small craft, so $150 seems a bit high (even taking licensing fees into account - The Avengers Quinjet was only $100). Perhaps we are getting a black base, part of a Sandworm, and some trans-clear Technic parts to display the Ornithopter? šŸ¤” This makes sense, and would reduce the number of new prints needed (as all characters are wearing stillsuits during that scene). I wonder what hair will be used for Kynes (if she appears), since no existing part really fits. The other three would likely have reused pieces (this for Gurney, this or this for Leto, and this for Paul).
  18. Agreed - I expect a chieftain, two warriors, and a blacksmith. I wonder if the chieftain will be female, since we have oddly never gotten a female blacksmith, and LEGO would probably want an even gender breakdown for the warriors. This would also potentially allow the hair/crown piece from the longship to be reused. Maybe we get one new torso? Also, before anyone complains, stories of female Viking rulers have existed since the 12th Century. I doubt that; it would lose them a lot of potential buyers who want to combine this set with 31132.
  19. Update: 21343 Ideas Viking Village $129.99 2103 Pieces Release October 1st The part count is roughly the same as that of the original submission, so I expect it to be around the same size. Even without seeing the final design, the PPP seems good; hopefully there will be a lot of small rockwork details like in the original. I am curious as to how they make the rope bridge, however, as the part used in the submission has not been in production for well over a decade. I also hope that they throw in at least one more Minifig (perhaps with an exclusive torso?), as the original design only had three.
  20. The set for The Marvels has been revealed, and it actually looks good despite the insane price ($90!!). We also get the 18729 canopy recoloured in Trans-Orange, which should be useful. I am also curious to see if anyone does a Classic Space reskin of the ship, since it should be fairly easy to swap out some of the grey for blue (and we already have the canopy in Trans-Yellow).
  21. That is not what I said - I said that PoBB was $200 when it released three years ago (and, therefore, would have been accessible to the same people who are buying this set now). All of the heads are reuses (the female soldier on the ramp has a new head, but it is already being used in two of the City exploration sets). I actually was irritated by the lack of female heads available when I was growing up, so I personally welcome the variety that we are now getting. BTW, all of this arguing over female Minifigs has caused us to overlook the biggest flaw with this set - There is no frog!! Seriously, where is the frog?
  22. Since I already have PoBB, I do not need another Redbeard, so I like that we are getting a new pirate instead. As for the gender ratio, it would still have been 50/50 even if he were included, since the second pirate could have been made female (meaning that Redbeard was not "replaced" by a female pirate). Yep. šŸ‘ Because the target market for this set (nostalgic AFOL Pirates fans) were probably buying LEGO only three years ago when PoBB came out (which was not "ungodly expensive" at the time - $200, which is less than EF!), so TLG safely assumed that we already picked that up and had an updated Redbeard. I agree completely.
  23. Obviously! I was just wondering how people plan to integrate the two designs (army/navy, soldiers/officers, French/Dutch, etc). I did not notice that before - I really like the trend of opposing factions having little hideouts in larger structures; it is cute and makes the build feel more alive! Because no cis woman has ever had short hair or been bald? After Pirates III ended, we have gotten three proper Pirates sets (this, PoBB, and the Creator pirate ship), two Pirate CMFs, and three pirate-themed modern-day settings (Pirate Roller Coaster, Ray the Castaway GWP, and Pirate Ship Playground GWP). Of the Minifigs included, we get one male pirate in 31084, six male pirates and two female ones in 21322, three male pirates in 31109, one boy and one girl in 40589, one male in 40566, and one male pirate and one female pirate in CMFs (Scallywag Pirate and Pirate Girl respectively). Adding the one male and one female pirates from Eldorado Fortress, this brings us to a total of 14 male pirates and 5 female pirates since 2018 (hardly close to an equal number, much less to female pirates outnumbering the males!). Additionally, only the CMF Pirate Girl and Lady Anchor (from PoBB) have torsos that cannot also be used for males.
  24. I was thinking this as well! In fact, I can see the other two Bluecoat fort sets (Lagoon Lock-Up and Broadside’s Brig) also being GWPs. Perhaps we could even get an Imperial Creator 3-in-1 that is compatible with this set. šŸ¤”
  25. This is gorgeous! I love how the raised baseplate was recreated, the modular design (allowing the set to be reconfigured or expanded), and the unexpected addition of the Trading Post merchant vessel. The return of Broadside’s hat and the inclusion of both current hat-hair combo pieces are also great, welcome, surprises. For me, there are only a few negatives: While the traditional palm trees are defiantly hitting the nostalgia, they look look primitive next to the design used in PoBB and Ray the Castaway; the same goes for the black dock, which should have been brown (I am fine with the crane remaining black, though, since it can represent iron). That said, both of these issues are quite easy to fix. My more serious complaints are that the Imperials’ flag does not appear in 2x2 form, that the new pirate torso has a skull necklace (preventing it from being used for a civilian), and the lack of at least one more Minifig (we should have gotten Gov, one officer, four soldiers, two pirates, and one merchant). Overall, the set is excellent, and I cannot wait to get it! BTW, what are we doing with our 2015 Bluecoats? Since I only have two, I plan to use mine as officers.
