  1. Never known if this chain before, thanks for the info!
  2. What store it that? I have only seen it for £32 at smythToys, not a bad deal but I have no interest in the 4+ build tractor etc it’s not a bad price to get all the animals though, plus some vegetables and a winch etc but I already got lots of sheep so don’t need the extra
  3. Finaly made an order which had been in the basket before ‘standard’ was put on pause, thankfully it remembered everything I had selected even though I couldn’t see it. I got myself a pair of cows, they are expensive but the price is about the same on Bricklink, I checked to see first if the farm set was more economical to purchase on sale compared to the same animals etc from B&P but it wasn’t and I didn’t want the tractor and barn builds etc
  4. Just had a look at the latest ‘standard’ parts that can be ordered and I’m amazed by some of the parts available (U.K.): piglet, lamb, calf, 2 colours of horse, butterfly, rubber duck, printed gold coin, Moby Brick book cover, Dr Strange’s rubber cape, both Butterbeer colours, the new historic guitar (cheaper to get it in BAM in store though), kittens, printed acorn, squirrels, 2 standing owls, candlestick, hourglass, game controller, and much more Also forks are really cheap I notice Frogs for some reason are in ‘miscellaneous’ rather than animals
  5. I hope Mcgonagall dressed in black, the Carrow twins, Seamus Finnigan, Scabior, Mrs Weasley perhaps, Ron to complete the trio from the RoR set
  6. Thanks for compiling this with the other information we have. I hope one of those two big sets is a ship 👍 might be the last one as if it has big hull parts that will push the part count down
  7. Agreed, I only wish they where 100% right and we got the ship too 🤣
  8. Not going to make a full list but I just wish for a Durmstrang Ship hopefully around the £100 mark to be fully detailed and proportioned Bonus if it comes with missing lake task figures, extra GoF adult cast, another grindylow etc
  9. If I was deign lead my take on it would be to make it 2 separate sets: one set is the surface street building and is targeted to more adult collectors who have the DA set already, it would be compatible and in scale with those buildings and the same age rating for build complexity etc. includes a handful of new goblins with new hair colours and faces but the rest of the figures don’t have to be movie specific actually, you could add almost any even obscure characters from the wizarding world including Dorris Crockford, Mundungus, Narcissa, other shop owners, the scary K-Ally witch etc Then a much cheaper (<$90) set with widespread availability with the dragon, minecarts on a circuit of track, the vaults etc, looking similar at a glance to the old Indiana Jones & Temple of Doom set. This would be more for kids with play features galore etc. Figures are specifically from the DH part 2 scene (disguises etc). Minimum figure overlap between the two sets would be deliberate. You could put the dragon on top of the bank if you wish but otherwise the sets don’t really have to connect together in my opinion, that’s not important for me, just put one model on a shelf above the other if you have to 😅 otherwise the underground portion has to have a build similar to the frame of the Rancor Pit & bigger which would take up a lot of parts and inflate the price, or you compromise the other way and reduce the size & weight of Gringots so it can be held up on stilts That’s the best of both worlds in my opinion; the kids get the action scene and dragon to play with at a reasonable ordinary family budget, and the adults and completionists get the D2C modular building too they want to finish a DA display.
  10. A Narcissa figure could come in any of the following potential sets: Malfoy Manor (obviously) Borgin & Berks/ Knockturn Ally with the rest of her family Gringots, as an extra out on the street, same applies to Mundungus Fletcher who would also be at home in the location. A Battle of Hogwarts large Castle module I have seen some concepts online which used the hair mould of Captain Carter from the Marvel CMF and it looked very good for a re-use
  11. There is a new wig in blonde in the friends theme which looks even more like Xenophelious than the Aquaman hair (The bubble tea street stall), Hope this is not a coincidence 🤞 Agree with all of these 👍 this covers most of my wants only I would swap the inferi cave for a department of mystery’s battle set with OotP Death Eaters
  12. It’s probably been asked before but hypothetically if the theme had only 1 or 2 years left in it what would be your Top 5 things (locations, scenes, figures, accessories or new moulds etc) which you think needs to be made to ‘complete’ the theme for you?
  13. It’s not relay what you asked for but for a bonus ranking I would put down the following as best in each category I can think of: Best Castle Module: Astronomy Tower Best Advent Calendar: 2020 (Yule Ball) Best House/building: As a build and display item I say The Burrow (I had Hagrid’s hut 1st on my #15 list but that’s boosted by my fondness of Buckbeak and the figures and how much I have played/modded it) Best Forbidden Forest Set: Grawp, Umbridge and the Centaurs Best Vehicle: Beauxbatons Flying Carriage Best D2C: Micro Hogwarts Castle Best non-Minifigure system scale set (flapping models, giant figs etc): Hogwarts Icons D2C (already gave a medal to micro Hogwarts) Best Moments Book: Potions Lesson Best Miscalanious set (includes Chess board, magical Trunk, sorting spinner, Dragen & Lake tasks): Rise of Voldemort Least favoured set: Sirius Rescue Courtyard
  14. I haven’t built mine yet but from what I can see and the reviews I have read its up there because of the detailed, complex but sturdy build which makes a faithful exterior and playable interior. It follows the ‘dollhouse’ style with an open side but then also has the hinged living room area for more access. Loads of prints, appropriate stickers and lots of colourful parts to make the inside busy with all the details you could expect. It’s a model I can’t relay see myself adding much too if at all to improve it. Lots of Figures too with some rare characters which we have only 1 or 2 of even now.
  15. Here is mine, just a rough feeling based on how much fun I have had with each and value for money etc: 1 Hagrid’s Hut 2 Astronomy Tower 3 Hogsmeade Village 4 Chamber of Secrets 5 Clock Tower 6 12 Grimmauld Place (haven’t built this yet) 7 Attack on the Burrow (haven’t built this also) 8 2018 Great Hall (still the best version) 9 Privit Drive 10 Hospital Wing 11 2020 Advent Calendar (Yule Ball) 12 Shrieking Shack 13 First Flying Lesson 14 Dumbledore’s office 15 Ministry of Magic (great figures but the build is not fun for me, rooms are too small to use and the towers fall apart easily)
  16. This theme is still going strong and I can’t wait to see what the future holds, it’s been a great year with some outstanding sets such as Grimmauld Place, Shreaking Shack and our first deathly hallows sets too and fantastic figures I never expected to get such as Madame Pince and Madame Pomfrey! What I wish more of from the the theme in general: More Instances of Y3-7 Dumbledore instead of the repeated Y1-2 version More appearances of minor students such a as Seamus Finnigan, Pansy Parkinson, Crabbe, Goyle, Lee Jordan at various ages and less of Neville Longbottom unless he is actually important for the scene The continued use of the pixie and hopefully grindylow and Nifler too as magical animals in the background across various sets (a new Hagrid’s hut could have a Nifler nest hidden somewhere for example) A new coat colour/print for Hagrid Generic masked (OotP) Death Eaters! More on screen Variants of Lockheart, Slughorn, Sirius and Lucius even if they are book exclusives or in the Advent Calendars as we did have this year Happy New Year everyone!
  17. I like the old broom, I have loads and don’t plan on replacing it, as a 1 part accessory it works well for the prop, my lifelong complaint about it is the choice of soft plastic which scratches and scars awfully by Minifigure hands. The hard plastic antenna used for the new brooms solves that problem but I don’t think the brush looks much better, it should have been more pointy
  18. Another expensive wave! There are some good $25/30 or less sets they need to do: Department of mystery battle (for masked death eaters), detention in the forest, the final challenge/winged keys etc . I hope the $90 or $130 set is the Durmstrang Ship 😃
  19. (Warning this is a long post) Love getting Rita finally, not my ideal way but we are lucky to get her at all! I’m sure somebody at Lego group is reading this forum and taking notes on our wants :) I saw people were talking about CMF series 3… I would love it too but I don’t think it’s likely but you never know A year or so ago I shared a list of possible series 3, 4 and 5 based on the pattern of the first two, and Many of the characters in that spreadsheet have been made in the last couple of waves of sets (werewolf, Kreacher, Tonks, Pomfrey, Luna with baby Thestral, Grey Lady etc), here it is again for anyone curious: I definitely think a solid and successful series 3 is still physically possible with what’s not covered yet, but I agree with other comments that with the theme being evergreen now they are likely saving things for sets to keep the theme alive for longer. I'm not making a new spreadsheet as I can’t think of an equal number for each slot any more instead here is my personal complete list of candidates for a given 12 figure CMF series format (down from 16). Some of these could be suitable for an advent calendar or figure pack as it’s mostly new prints and recolours, not a lot of obvious new moulds left to make… Golden Trio: DH1 (will reading or wedding) with broken mirror, snitch, deluminator, pouch bag & Tales of Beedle the Bard book as accessories. Or Young versions wearing new cardigans (Norbert hatching scene) with new moulds of Fang, Norbert and a specific Nimbus 2000 mould Or Y3 Hogsmeade variants with accurate hats etc (snowball scene), could come with new pints of sweets or an exclusive chocolate frog card each such as Merlin, Karkaroff and Grindelwald etc Dark wizard, pick 1: Lucius Malfoy (Y5 Death Eater, mask print on head reverse), with prophesy and new staff snake head top Voldemort with angry grimacing expression and the large black flying/smoke stand Students (combined with the old Neville and Luna slot) pick any 3: Lee Jordon & quidditch scoreboard Y4 Draco Malfoy in robes & ferret Tom Riddle (Slughorn’s memory) & the ring Luna Lovegood (wedding) Ginny Weasley (wedding) with Pygmy puff Percy Weasley a new hat/hair mould and new printed flying Errol the great grey owl Cormac Mclaggen (quidditch, with brown shoulder pads) Y1 Neville in pyjamas with a new giant toad specifically for Trevor/singing toads, (doesn’t replace the classic frog) Y4 Neville in lake task clothes, earmuffs, gillyweed printed tile. Y5 Neville with striped cardigan and mimbulus mimbletonia Ramilda Vane (with love chocolates, card etc) 2nd task Fleur with grindylow variant, bubble face print 2nd task Cedric with grindylow variant, bubble face print Cho Chang (winter clothes or 2nd task robes) perhaps with a new flying owl print/colour Seamus Finnigan (Y5/6) with new fox mould as a patronus. We have only had him with short legs so far. Young Newt Scamander in robes with new bowtruckle Hogwarts resident (includes the old Dumbledore slot), pick any 2: Y6 Dumbledore (grey hand) with new flying Phoenix (pose similar to the Flying eagle) The Bloody Barron (new wig mould) The Fat Friar younger Slughorn from the memory with a new green hourglass, could also be in his striped pyjamas. Lockheart in his gold teaching cloak with a pixie variant Lockheart in his duelling club outfit with a black cobra Lockheart in green cloak from the quidditch scene, perhaps with one of his books Professor Vector Magical creature, pick 1: Gringots Head Goblin with newspaper reporting the PS break-in. New mould for a bald goblin with long ears sticking out sideways. Firenze the centaur (But I would much rather have an actual Forest set with a new Hagrid with moleskin coat etc) Other characters from the wizarding world (includes old OotP slot) pick any 2: Karkaroff* (white coat) & gold staf Xenopheliois Lovegood (gold wedding suit) Narcissa Malfoy Aberforth Dumbledore with goat patronus Aunt Marge with ripper Fudge (Wizardingmort), gabble, new hat Rufus Scrimgeour, printed tile will, suitcase. (I think this figure would be good in a store exclusive character pack) New Mrs Weasley variant with a new hat/hair combo mould (platform scene) Sirius Black (train station or a different suit variant), OotP photo. *put his less interesting black outfit in a ship set, Barty Crouch Sr too.
  20. How many new parts can people see in these new sets? Parts I have not seen before: Grindylow (obviously) 2x2 square tile with two opposite corners cut out (used on the banner covers) 2x4 plate with smooth bottom (used at the hinges attaching the triangular plates on a few of the banner sets) plant stem module with two leaves, stacks like the candle stick. 4x4 tile?
  21. Over in the Jurassic park thread there is dissuasion over a Brachiosaurus coming in the upcoming line. It’s unclear if it’s brick built or moulded or a mixture of the two. If it’s got moulded body and legs I wonder if it could share some of the parts with a Mumakil
  22. Wouldn’t it require moulds for the elvish ears/hair? Would the originals still be in existence?
  23. This has been debated lots before about exactly what went wrong, i don’t think it’s as simple as that in Lego’s case although it was definitely true for all the other hobbit merchandising. My theory is Lego had planned early on for 5 waves of sets: 3 Lotr and 2 Hobbit, one for each movie roughly. But then after production had already started for the first wave(s) the film studio made the decision to make the Hobbit 3 movies. Lego didn’t add more resources to the middle Earth theme, instead they swapped the budget allotted 3rd lotr wave for a 3rd hobbit wave, perhaps thinking that a present movie tie-in would sell better. Then once that 5 wave plan was finished the theme was not renewed due to poor sales overall. Creative decisions in the 2nd wave of lotr sets also hurt it a lot no doubt (pirate ship).
  24. Nice to see the brickheads, Aragorn park looks the best for the detail of the crown etc. Frodo & Gollum are not very interesting builds. The long sward is a mystery, they have the short hobbit sward in recent production (wizard chess for example). I’m excited for the Rivendell set, should look beautiful with lots of trees and buildings. I’m expecting Old Bilbo for the first time, I don’t think it will be a Hobbit set with Thorin’s company.
  25. I made an full size whomping willow using parts from two trees and a bunch of extra parts, you can check it out on my Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/p/ClJiQJELX5e/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= I tired to design the branches to match the proportions and shapes from the video game and the first movie.
