Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Bugbot20082 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I like the new system, although it looks like it won’t include the clock or astronomy towers unless they keep it going for 5 years+, where other waves have only had a 3 year plan I think before a reboot. I don’t see the problem with the way the potions classroom was done, it means those scenes and characters are accessible for young families with smaller budgets and get lots of extra detail and parts. I love the way the classroom folds up so tidy and gets stored away underground, it’s like the Great Hall becomes a toy box when not in use. I had a thought today about the Great Hall architecture, and wanted to see what everyone else thought: In the movies we see that the hall space is very wide and has the big tall windows etc, see here from one of the studio theme parks: Compare that to this external of the building: It looks like the ‘floor’ of the great hall itself is above the lower row of windows, inline with the detail in the stone where snow is settling. So question is are all those lower windows looking into the kitchen? And would the Hufflepuff common room be below that inside the rock foundation/basement of the Hall? -

One more thought, with the Troll included some of us speculated that the great hall might be decorated for Halloween, sadly this is not the case. But could Halloween pumpkins for example be included in the advent calendar? -

That Aragog is amazing, so anatomically correct and makes the 2018 one look like a cute chibi/funko version by comparison, you could actually frighten people with it. Shame there is no fang. I hope the Dumbledore from the Great hall is the same one in the Advent Calendar, with that hat and printed skirt. I don’t plan to get this hall but might make my own from the online instructions using my existing peices -

I’m very pleased with the new house ghost and Professor Vector, this was a good choice of figs to include in this set. Nice also to see new Hufflepuff students too and I’m so glad to see the CMF Dumbledore hair/hat being used again. I’m a little disappointed with hey used for he scarecrow hat for Vector, she needed something more elegant Troll looks very good and well made with painted/printed clothes etc, an excellent big-fig and one of the main attractions of the set, I hope the bathroom module includes some troll smashing play features Is the gold scissors in Malkins a new colour for those? Fair play to re-use the librarian hat for Madame Malkin, but the re-use of many other existing parts and prints makes the building look like a MOC in my eyes, apart from the stickers which are great Mandrake is excellent, very stand out and uses many original building techniques which gives it its own aesthetic compared to Groot or the LotR Ent but also stays true to the real prop, I love all the entangled vines and roots, and the huge leaves with printing are impressive. I only wish it had come with a Herbology Hermione using a recolour of that Hidden-side hair with moulded headphones, maybe that will appear in a future greenhouse set -
I was going to say this too and i like the idea. If I was the designer I would do this. It could have an architecture style base and consumer feedback could be used to judge weather there is appetite for a mini series for the rest of the iconic locations for adult collectors alongside the brick heads. The scale model would illustrate the size of the ‘real’ tower compared to the one we see more often in the context of people, it would definitely enhance the build without being painful to miss out on for those that can’t get it. Given the know measurements would the towers be in scale With microfigures? Like the UCS Hogwarts or Helicarrier ?
-
Maybe we can refer the UCS battle of Hoth or the Starwars Canteena as a example of miniature heavy UCS sets: Hoth: 15 figs + two large moulded animals Canteena: 21 figures plus a large moulded animal. Three new moulds for parts of alien figures. Original Helms Deep set: 8 figures + a horse

There is a Flitwick in the advent calendar, I hope he is the PS version, that would be only the 2nd time in the themes history we got that variant -

From the picture from the boxart Iv seen it looks different than the original short chain, where the connection to the ball is behind the stud rather that to the side, but it might just be an optimised pose of the existing chain for the boxart to make it look that way.- 685 replies

I’m not sure but is the short gold chain the dwarf has a new mould? The end which connects to the silver ball is upright like a sink plug with an anti-stud on the bottom to connect the ball.- 685 replies

Iv had a look at more big gigs and the zombie mammoth big fig from Chima called Mungus is more ‘upright’ than many others, the troll might look similar -

I expect the detail will be moulded/painted on like Cull Obsidian and Gladiator Hulk, if they reuse the hulk arms I hope they don’t look too muscular, the troll has lanky arms and narrow shoulders and instead most of its mass is in its belly and huge knobbly feet -

Is the site not working for anyone else? Every time I try to add a part to my basket it says ‘an unexpected error occurred’ and it doesn’t work (phone browser) , when I go to the shop homepage i get a ‘OH Bricks!, we can’t find this page’, seems to be ok on a PC but not on my phone -

The only series I have tried to complete before were Harry Potter and the Simpsons, but I’m very interested in getting this series even though I know only a little of the culture and lore of DND casualty from watching Futurama, Stranger Things, and other references in pop culture etc. I love fantasy and ‘creature’ Minifigures which don’t have any yellow skin on them (the Greek monsters are some of my favourite CMF figures), and the news that lots of these figures are designed to be customisable is very appealing, this might end up being my gateway into getting deeper into it 😅- 685 replies

We got Sirius from the wanted poster which took a long while to work out so nothing is off the table 😅 I’ve have a think about this too and here are some of my ideas: Figures: Kreacher (repeat from the set) Sirius Black, from the final battle Ephelious Douge + broom, based on OotP OotP Death Eater (could have a new mask print) Umbridge, new variant builds: mop, sponge and bucket for kreacher, Prophesies shelf, Kitchenet for GP, Christmas cake and broom Santa as you mentioned (I think they could be approximated), furniture for Umbridge’s office, dragon fireworks, mini ministry fountain, a recolour of a dog for Ron’s patronus, mini thestral carriage, Its a hard film to cover 😅, maybe some HP filler such as a detailed Hall lectern, another Christmas tree, gifts colour coded on members of the order such as Moody, Tonks, Kingsley and Sirius Moody’s broomstick?: www.instagram.com/p/C0T8mEroGbW/?igsh=MWlydXRiM2UzZ2NlbQ== -

I really hope this Years Advent Calendar gives us Karkaroff wearing his grey outfit, I imagine in the ship set he will have his white arrival coat which can be repurposed as his Yule ball outfit. Then we would have 2 varieties to balance the Madame Maxime figures we already have. Extra students from both schools with random faces for background students would be so awesome too. I updated my wishlist: Harry, Ball suit without jacket (new torso print) Ron, Ball suit without jacket (new torso print) Ginny, Ball dress (new torso and dress/brick prints), OR alternatively Fleur in lake task swimsuit (new torso) Karkaroff, Lake task (new print torso) Durmstrang student (repeat parts) Beauxbatons student (repeat parts) Merperson (repeat parts) So that would be only 4-5 new prints but fantastic fan service for adding to existing sets such as the lake task. -

I’m warming up to a revisit of the Yule ball too for the AC, I could imaging a line up of 6 figures being: Draco (ball outfit) Ginny (ball outfit) Mcgnagall in a new dress? Harry and Ron at the end of the night with just shirts Igor Karkaroff (grey outfit) 7th figure if there was budget: Rita Skeeter variant (dragon task for example), or Amos Diggory -
That was my suggestion, I think either combo looks great!
