  1. I think the CMF tops out for me: Less saturated colour for the coat/body neutral face expression vs the angry scowl from the book set unique duel-moulded flask/maraca is nicer than the simple black part
  2. I like the dimensions of the front of the Mannor, they got the outline done well and it’s packed with details like the railings, snake heads etc, loads of windows. Minifigure count is good but I 2nd the disappointment in absence of DH Ron for 2nd time, the posable legs for all figures is likely to have them all sit around a long table. The peackoks, fountain and statue are nice additions One odd thing is the absence of wands, I see only 2 black ones in the image and then the white one. This would have been the ideal set to include a black recolour of the wand pack from Olivandar’s this year
  3. Lego bricks and pieces has had an update with new parts, of note: Fat Fryer grey hair, troll blue arms and hands and Professor Vector hat/hair from The Great Hall set Mini owl number 22 From friends Gold and trans orange unprinted mini dragons from Ninjago Brown Hair, Igor’s torso print and Krum’s torso print also surprisingly from the Durmstrang Ship The new potion bottles and bubbles from the Potions class (very expensive though)
  4. U.K. collector here, I was pleased to find the series in my local WH Smith/Toys R Us. I grabbed 5 randoms for the first dive and got a Dragonborn, Tiefling, Aarakocra and a duplicate two witches! Looking at the prices on eBay and discussion here looks I was lucky getting the knight figure without scanning. Mu goal is to get a complete series and 2 mindflayers i hope I he series sells well and they renew for a 2nd, what’s your wish lists for a CMF series 2? I hope for another Dragonbone in a different colour and class, a centaur (they need to reuse that mould in more colours). I’m not that familiar with DnD characters and lore
  5. The new singer ghost in the AC on its own is amazing, 3 new prints and a recolour of an uncommon part is exceptional! And it’s not even a named character! , I wish we could get Lockhart, Slughorn and other teacher variants this way with this much detail, it makes up somewhat for no CMF#3.
  6. In the blurry photo I can identify two pigs I think and what is I’m sure a new dark grey flying owl (an official Errol), it’s on the right side posed on the new Marvel heroes curved posing rod/bar. The yellow thing in the hand of one of the figures on the left might be a rubber duck.
  7. I see some rumours that the diagon alley shops might be micro scale, is there anything to back this up? Personally I’m hoping to expand on the recent two shops sets and carry on at the same price a couple more times. 200 for system scale is rather high for me but if it’s got about 6 shops in it and lots of great figures, without repeating WWW or Olivanders then I might go for it.
  8. I hope the Flitwick in the Charms class has the Dwalin beard again and not the cheap Santa beard like the Advent Calendar Unrelated to the discussion but this weekend I have finally opened and built my copy of 12 Grimmauld Place, I enjoy the model and the minifigure selection is great with lots of exclusive prints, and of course Kreacher! I just noticed that the back of the box depicts two printed news paper tiles but the set only has one, oops Lego! I wish they had done a tie-in Advent calendar for it, it’s a bit late now to do one but I’m still hopeful we could get a OotP calendar. Ideally containing: Aphelios Doge Sirius Black (ministry battle suit) Death Eater (repeat from the Gringotts set) Kreacher repeated to give a chance for families who can’t afford the big set. Arthur Weasley with a bandage etc Ron with an existing dog mould cast in trans glitter for his patronus Another kitchen unit to fit in the empty space around the table, Christmas decorations, toy Santa etc

  14. Ok so after years of procrastination I have finally uploaded the old images of my MOC series above to Flickr, the original host website mocpages went down so the images no longer show in the original post. So here they are again!: 01. Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire, The Shepherd's Journal/ Whitmore‘s Office This small set marks the beginning of the adventure featuring: - Preston B. 15. Good ideas, but as you say the viaduct itself is not that ‘fun’ itself for a playset… I have another idea how they could do the viaduct: make it a facade with the I rear side being an unrelated internal room, such as the Slytherin Common room. The arches could be filled in with transparent dark green 1x2x5 bricks as the windows for the room but creating the illusion of empty space from the other side when used in the main display set up
  16. Do you think the next big modules will include the two connecting bridges shown in the blurred outline? How would they do it? It would be a bit weird for a set of the viaduct entrance building to have the long viaduct leading to knowhere, with just a dead drop at the end
  17. Try soak it in some Warm water for a few minutes, it should help it relax back to shape I just checked mine and Sauron’s helmet and they are all good, not bent. Nonetheless I miss the little protective bags that they used for rubbery/painted parts like the dwarf beards and Saruman’s hair. My copy of the new Hadrid’s hut sadly came with a Fang with some horrible Scratches on both sides, I wish it had been in its own bag. I was shocked also the hagrid body too was also loose as that’s been bagged before. I’m all for reducing plastic waste but in these instances I think it’s justified
  18. I can see them doing a UCS Bangend, as it’s one of the most iconic locations. It might have a similar footprint to Rivendale but less parts: interior with at least 3 connected rooms each with a window to the front: entrance hallway, living room, dining/tea room. study. The back of the set is open and the roof can be removed like the original set. Perhaps have a removable fireplace to help prop up the weight of the removable roof/tree when it’s all together A much more substantial tree build compared to the original set Includes Gandalf’s cart and a detailed garden and front fence/gate Figures: Gandalf, old Bilbo, the other 4 hobbits, cart horse, Rosie? I doubt they would do the company of Dearves as much as I would like that this is an ideas set which is similar to what I can imagine: https://ideas.lego.com/challenges/58660122-6eea-44ec-bfb4-a0d26f4015fa/application/21120fac-42d9-40d6-92a7-440998a54970
  19. Thanks for your tip, I rang them on Sunday when they opened and Westfield Shepherd’s Bush had only a couple left and they had a long Que so no chance, however the store at Battersea Power Station which is less known had a few in stock too and offered to reserve me a copy! So I dashed there in the trian and got the GWP! They also had a large built display of the model but no Minifigures, also it’ was all glued together except the mechanisms, it’s huge in person. , the box must have weighed 6kg by the feel of it.
  20. Hi I’m in the U.K., I got insiders access and it’s in stock still online but no GWP available it seams… is it worth it trying London Westfield or Battersea Power station to see if they have the GWP in store?
  21. How far do you think Lego can go with the new Diagon Alley system sets, so far we have had two sets with two locations/shops. What’s going to be next?
  22. If I get this set these are the mods I’ll have to do to make it work better for me: taller central tower, not an entire module but a few inches of extra bricks to improve the proportions reduce the fat ‘collar’ around the central tower where those rubbery large spikes attach, make it more flush redo the dining hall into a WW2 bunker style war-room with a large map of middle earth and a throne for the Mouth to dictate from. longer entrance bridge and a gate at the end.
  23. Challenge accepted. Set 76439 Ollivander & Madam Malkin's Robes contains 2 packs of wands, one reddish brown and one medium nougat. Each Pack has 12 wands, consisting of 2 copies of 6 different shapes: The 6 shapes are as follows and my guesses for their closest matches from the NobleCollection collectible wands are as follows: 1 Snake Headed: Lucious Malfoy, Amycus Carrow, Death Eater 2 Curved with spiral pattern on the handle: Bellatrix, Krum, George Weasley, Snatcher 3 Screw/spiral pattern down the full length: Hermione, Xenophilius, Cho Chang, Trelawney 4 Flat-ended with smooth handle: Harry, Sprout, Mundungus, Tonks? 5 Large Round mushroom shaped end with banded detail on the grip: Lupin, Quirrell (unofficial), Ron?, Moody? 6 Wedge-shaped profile end with spiral detail on the grip: Neville, Ginny, Dean Thomas, Arthur Weasley, Fred Weasley, Alecto Carrow, Percy Weasley Several characters wands have a spiral/snail shape profile at the end of their wand (Queenie Goldstein, Fleur, Pettigrew), it’s a shame this pattern wasn’t included in the range of special wand moulds, number 5 on my list is rather plain in my opinion and doesn’t correlate well to any specific wand and should have had a spiral detail instead. Going by many of the names above it would fit very well for many characters to get a pack of these wands in black, perhaps in a Department of Mysteries Battle set?
  24. Agreed, I think the secret door is just a play feature to make the model more fun, children can use their imagination: it’s a secret passage out of the castle, or the way Quirrel let in the Troll for example, Hogwarts is famous for secret passages so it’s on-theme and can be used in many ways
  25. The next big castle section will be the grand staircase tower with the lookout tower/quad entrance arch attached, all on top of another rocket foundation, here is my hopes for the interior: Dumbledore’s office (this is a given) in the roof Griffin statue staircase's below Gryffindor Common-room removable module in the main tower below that Moving staircase like the micro set on the ground floor of the main tower. Umbridge’s office in the lookout tower (like the micro castle) DaDA classroom in the roof section over the arch Dungon module 1: OotP Room of Requirement, with Neville and Ron (to differentiate it from the previous set). Dungeon module 2: Slytherin Commin Room, incudes the Bloody Barron smaller middle Dungeon space: trophy room 5 figures mentioned above + Harry + Draco + new Slytherin student Which might leave the Ravenclaw common room, Divination and other classrooms, library etc for the viaduct entrance building. No idea for the dungeons for that section though.
