I think its tan or maybe light bluish grey... When i got the set i scratched off a little bit between the 3 pins on the inside, but it was "dark" in there and didn't look twice really. I kept the gold when painting. But removing the gold won't be worth the hassle with all those spokes and tiny holes in between. And nobody wants tan wheels anyway ?

Painting wheels step 1. Used a standard glossy black spray paint. Some people might not like this and want it to be all original and thats fine, but the original gold was also painted and is not really strong, you can scratch the gold off with your finger nails. Next step will be metallic silver Revell color "pinstripes" to get the two tone diamond cut finished look.

Technic 2020 Set Discussion

A Lego Ford Bronco would absolutely fly off the shelves -
Hmm, what if someone makes a "moc" (since we have the instruction) but with different colored parts and no stickers. Technically it's not the official set then? Or is it?

But this situation is not Bell Boeings fault (i know you have not said that it is). These couple of people get lots of hate now, which is not right! I am not mad at them really.. The set is also in the 2HY 2020 Catalogue... what will happen to those?

Metal Universal Joints

^^^These are also made out of aluminium. Not sure if thats strong enough at the holes where the center cross is. -
Lets hope they change it up a bit (to not look quite like an Osprey) and rerelease it.! Most don't care about the "first edition" anyway, they just want the cool set.

Yeah... Is it possible for TLG to stop resellers selling this on ebay and such now, and say that they have to turn it back to the shop or something?
-
Oh goodness me. People who buy it for 1500 quid might end up loosing a lot of money if TLG decides to bring the set somehow...
-
Do such petitions actually work? Even when 1 million people sign it, it's still in TLGs hand to do what they want right?

And the fact that they "overlicensing" their products. This set would be fine as it is without that pointless bell boeing license! Its getting worse and worse with this licensing trend. And this was bound to happen at some point. Iam kinda glad because i hope they woke up now and stop licensing everything. I do like some licensed sets, but not all need to be like that (cough top gear car cough) since there is no point in that really. Iam an adult and fine without one official product...
