  1. How much sand inside the gears and hubs etc.?? :D
  2. How do these "new" valves actually feel? The old ones always had no, how could i describe it, ratchet stop point really, you couldn't "lock" them in place. You always pushed the lever a little too far and had to correct back and forth...
  3. Airtanks are a bit overhyped imo. I just removed my airtank from 42053 again (more info in the 42053 mods thread). For 42128 they probably won't do much. I guess you can controll the movement and stop the cylinder quite precisely where you want with the pump
  4. I literally just took the whole thing apart and redbuild it in stock form. My new plan is now to run 2x 6l pumps (before i had 1x 5.5l and 1x 6l, ordered another 6l) but without the airtank since it only slows the system down when it has to build up all that pressure for it. These airtanks aren't that great for instant constant use in a system, or use in general. They are a bit overhyped. Lego retired it for this reason i guess... The one 6l pump the set came with seems a bit worn on my set, from years of use. I hooked both to the manometer and i don't even get 1 bar with the 6l pump, the 5.5l makes over 2 bar...
  5. I agree! No tank needed imo! With the pump only 2-3 pumps are needed to get one cylinder going. And you are not using the cylinders constantly to need to store air! I have the set 8462 which has two tanks,... but for what? They are kind of useless when the only action for them is raise/lower the axle lift and extend the crane. You just have to pump way more times with a tank, since the pump needs to fill the tank first, and than gets pressure to the cylinder.
  6. Maybe they retired the 3 spoke steering wheel?
  7. I added a second 5.5l pump and an airtank. Cabin lift is now also pneumatic Makes about 1bar pressure (used a blue airtank here, couldn't get the white one out)
  8. I would go for white, orange, blue (if these exist) or silver, and once the new 49.5x14 wheels are out i will try these...
  9. How would it look with the thin blue liftarms in white up front? Any maybe different colored wheels?
  10. It will sell like hotcakes. Once out of production prices will skyrocket. But till then, they make an absolute million of these sets. It's just a normal production Technic set for now, so there will be one for everyone.
  11. Great review as always! I do like some stickers in this set (the ones who show functions and the ones with lightnings, not a fan of orange Hulk either) I have problems with cylinders stuck over time as well, on all sets. I kinda like the geared down steering... And only 4 and 5 stars at the final note. Thats rare!
  12. I think Sariel is also happy with the tyres itself. Maybe just not on this set. But they will come in handy for tractor builders out there!
  13. Looks great without the stickers, but i would still apply the ones which show what knob is doing what function.
  14. Forget the Set. I wanna see more of the playing cats
  15. Glad to get the new wheels earlier than october.
  16. They just announced the 10279 VW T2, which uses the same wheels and some 3l white frictionless pins (1l pin, 2l axle) for the front axle wheels. Seen them in @Sariels speedbuild, but he didn't mention them. Maybe they will also be in the pickup?
  17. Not to mention how they would look on the 42128. I need a ton of those.
  18. Noticed the second set of pulley on the axle boom lift thingy at the rear, to redirect the cables around and get an even lower angle to pull.
  19. Cool trucks. Yep you need a ton of the new 49.5x14 tires :D
  20. I will buy an absolute truck load of these tires for this tow truck, also for the Mack A and B model...
  21. There will be new 49.5x14 tires in the 10290 set. So we could get some dually rear tires for these technic trucks. Wonder why they didn't use them already in this set and wait till autumn for release these?
  22. I really hope the wheels are rim 56904 and a new tire! These new tires would be great to get some duallys on the Technic Mack and Tow truck They are size 49.5x14 while the ones we have since years are 49.5x20
