  1. Modulars are what got me in to Lego again as an adult, I usually get one every christmas from my fiancé. The revival of Harry Potter is what really got me in to forums and leaks, thought. Other than those two i get most Winter Village sets, the occational ideas one and I'm definitely getting the Andy Warhol art set. My brother collects the architect line so I get to play around with those set at his place. I guess I like detailed, sort of old fashioned buildings and creating city (and caste) scenes. So you can imagine how exited I am for DA...
  2. I've been a fan of Warhol for even longer than I've been in to Lego, so this has my name written all over. And the popcultural, repetative themes of Warhol really lends itself to the LEGO astetics. I do think it works as a stand alone, the artwork is so iconic and he did print several single frame pieces as well. That said I'm probably going to end up getting all four anyway... Love the van Gogh idea, @tafkatb. Agree that it would make an amazing motive.
  3. These are gorgeous, love the Warhol one. Thought my wallet is weeping...
  4. Was looking for a gift for a friends kid and saw the new Batman Duplo sets, which looks awesome. With DC this year and Jurasic Park last, do you think we'll ever see Harry Potter Duplo? A lot of us that grew up with the books are becoming parents right about now, and considering how nostalgic my generation is there should be a market.
  5. Picked up AT and room of reqirement at the local toy shop today! Both look amazing. Guess I know what I'll be doing tomorrow... Also, hi! Been lurking for almost two years (which is about when I came out of my dark ages) but don't think I've posted before. Thank you all for making the wait for new sets so much more enjoyable!
  6. To me it's less about US or Europe and more about period. DO looks fairly american to me, as does a few other of the older ones, and I like them just fine. There are several American styles of architecture I would love to see Lego exploring, but I vastly do prefer the style to be say pre 1940s.
  7. I love it! Never bothered to pick up the diner or garage since neither was my style, so I really aprechiate the return to turn of century Europe. The book shop could almost be a Netherlands Chanel house, and the residential building looks very British to me. And separate base plates makes it a lot easier to build a nice display. I must say I quite like the interior too. I would have wished for a messier, more cramped book shop but for once all the furniture looks like it actually fits the buildings. No gaudy colours, no doorm room style dwellings in family homes. The grandfather clock and wooden glass cabinet actually looks like what someone living in a house like that might choose. Also, new here, hi! Following the discussions here have made the wait for the great reveal that much more enjoyable.
