  1. Last year we heard i was a club house end of july/beginning of August and got leaked pictures beginning of September. Can't imagine they won't make a proper one this year, holiday stuff sells out the moment it hits the shelves and they know WV is always highly anticipated.
  2. Thank you! Might have to get another suitcase...
  3. A question for the Netherlanders on here: bol.com is a serious e-tailer, right? I'm here visiting for a couple of weeks and saw they had the Moments sets a lot cheaper than back in Sweden.
  4. Just as people might find police sets confronting and confusing. Why is it always the things a certain group finds offensive that's up for debate? If the stance truly is that Lego should "stay away from politics and controversies", why never follow the principle to it's logical conclusion. No police, no Harry Potter, no Jurasic Park, no female police officers, firemen or doctors, no cars (fuel and enviromental concerns), no Christmas. But somehow it's always the LGBTQIA+ sets that cross the line in to "just too political". China have a whole series of sets catering especially to them, so I don't think they feel too forgotten.
  5. Well, this is what Lego themselves have to say about it.
  6. It's up at S@H under coming soon too, 346 pieces.
  7. “Growing up as an LGBTQ+ kid – being told what I should play with, how I should walk, how I should talk, what I should wear – the message I always got was that somehow I was ‘wrong’,” he said. “Trying to be someone I wasn’t was exhausting. I wish, as a kid, I had looked at the world and thought: ‘This is going to be OK, there’s a place for me’. I wish I’d seen an inclusive statement that said ‘everyone is awesome’.” This is Legos stance. You can think what you want about it, but it's definitely canon now.
  8. While it's not neccesarily NOT inclusive, fact is every single set that includes a wedding couple, a couple in general or a family shows a heterosexual relationship. Representation matters, and it's easy to forget that when you are a part of the majority because your life is already mirrored everywhere around you. And Lego doesn't "need" to do anything. They do want they want, and what they think makes sense from a business perspective. Lego doesn't owe the LGBT+ community, with or without this set. But it doesn't owe you to stick to your interpretation of their principles either. If you don't like the set, don't get it. If enough people agree with you there won't be anymore. And calling a rainbow family set or two and a few pride sets "pandoras box" is a bit rich.
  9. Oh, sorry! Between watching Eurovision, passing the huge rainbow unicorn taking over the main square for Europride and this set I thought it was time to set all our nefarious plans to action. Will return to the secret (but fabulous) planning at once.
  10. The fact that the right to be yourself have been politicized in some countries doesn't make it inherently political. Also, it's fun colours! Colours are great. And for everyone. I'm sure the Lego staff won't ask us for gay credentials when we get it, just like they don't ask us if we celebrate Christmas or Easter or Lunar New Year, or are really getting (heterosexually) married when we get any of those sets.
  11. Also, while to me it's obvious this is the pride flag, and just in time for pride month, it would surprise me if it actually says so. That way countries with laws against "gay propaganda" would have a hard time motivating a ban. It does make directly linked donations from profit tricky thought, as does the global reach (would it all go to organisations in Denmark? European initiatives? The country where it was purchased? In several countries, unfortunately, LGBT+ organisations are banned). I do think it's a wonderful step even sans donations, thought. Inclusion matters, and Lego have a far greater reach than many which could be said to have gone after the pink money. This can make a difference for kids struggling with their identities, and rainbow families. Also, all those colours!😍
  12. Well, he does have five older brothers, I just figured they where handed down.
  13. This is brilliant and absolutely seals the deal for me, thank you! I display my castle in a bookself anyway so I'll just put the chamber on the shelf below.
  14. It's about 180 in Sweden...
  15. And I thought this was going to be a cheap year... Still prefer the 18-20 architecture but these are so much better than expected. Hogsmede is still my favourite by far, thought.
  16. As for the over abundence of police stations in the city line: I don't know about you guys but I want a 30/40s vibe to my city and absolutely none of the city line police stations/fire stations/hospitals would ever work. I want, and hope for, a police station in style of the Fire Brigade, a distinct throwback. No panorama windows, no heli pads, no radio mast. Give me a old fashioned gothic facad, wood paneling, a bullpen, typ writers and a cell or two any day.
  17. I hope so, I've been wanting a police station for ages. Certainly didn't think it would be this year, thought... If this is true, and they make a museum for the anniversary next year (?), all my wishes for this series will pretty much have come through - nice restaurant, book shop, police station and art. Then I only need to figure out if I should try to get my hands on the fire brigade, or if a moded winter village fire station will have to do...
  18. To each their own, but I've never really gotten the 'realistic living condition' thing. I'd much rather have a terrarium or a cute armchair than a toilet. I mean, if it was real they'd obviously need one, but they'd also need a shower, a fridge and a closet. It's Lego, there is quite a lot dispension of disbelief involved.
  19. Love them both! The bonsai is going to look great on my desk (if we're ever allowed to return to the office), a discreet but cute touch of Lego. And the technique used for the flowers looks like it's something else. So creative, and the colours are great.
  20. Oh, I like those a lot more than I was expecting. Love the colours, and patterns. The herbology classroom in particular is amazing. And looks like fairly good value for the money. Edit: Pictures up on the site now, too. Maybe slightly less value for money in Sweden, to be honest. This theme is killing me...
  21. Saw this and just ordered the Temple Fair set from this year. Should take too much moding to make a little China Town area with those two. I hope we get more green spaces eventually, love how it will break up the space and make it more alive. Then again, the modulars are pretty old fashioned too.
  22. The bag wasn't sealed? I get my minifigs from a reputable seller, but the ID'd ones they open and put in a ziplock bag to make sure you get the right one. So it is done, but not straight from Lego.
  23. Well, there was the H.C. Andersen sets, which I think sold pretty well. So if this does well too - and I can't imagine it won't - hopefully we'll se a lot more. I love the idea of having a few sets like it scattered around my bookshelves, and it would be lovely in a childs bedroom, or classrooms.
  24. Just saw the picture on IG, very surprised but i looks like a lovely set. Wonderful fireplace, and more books and book themed builds are always a good thing in my opinion. We're sure getting a lot of holiday cheer from Lego this year. Probably exactly what 2020 needs, thought.
  25. I actually like it way more than I thought I would, considering the subject matter. The elves will probably have to go, but the house itself is quite nice, I like the coloulor choices and the new (?) string light design. And the sled and reindeer will be perfect for a "meet santa" set up at the Christmas market.
