  1. I think I was basically expecting The Smithsonian.
  2. Alright, first impression. Torn about the colour, don't hate it but don't love it either - yet. Think I would have prefered the windows in white to make it a little less gloomy. Looks way more British and less American than I was expecting, thought it was going to have a more neoclassical vibe. Again not necessarily a bad thing, I really like the roof line and the entrance. The exibit drop downs looks too modern to fit in my city, might skip those. Can't wait to see the interior, really hope there is a gift shop.
  3. Where?! NM, found it. Don't know if it's the colour but it's giving me Victorian/Haunted House? Not necessarily a bad thing, but...
  4. As a journalist, man I hope you are right about this. Was so pissed we missed out on it to begin with, Daily Bugal does not fit the modular town astetics at all.
  5. I'm sure your right on the money about getting sales after the holidays, but the Advent Calendars and Winter Village is usually brought out before Christmas. Calendars need to sell by December 1 and many people start building their villages weeks if not months before Christmas Day, whilst early to mid November would probably be fine for something going under the tree.
  6. Honestly, I always thoughy the January 1 release was kind of weird because the latest modular is such a perfect Christmas gift for the AFOL in your life, and most of us doesn't have extra spending money after Christmas anyway. From that point of view December 1 would make more sense.
  7. It's out! Also very cute video on the official Lego Instagram. https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/alpine-lodge-10325
  8. Box art is out! Got to say I'm possitively surprised by the interior, it doesn't look as cramped as I thought it would, and no more than the Elf Clubhouse or Santas Visit. Looks very cozy and in keeping with the alpine exterior. And the small buid is definitely an outhouse! Still can't make out the sign by the door thought. Two, something?
  9. Thank you! Well, I guess it's time...
  10. Heard somewhere else that Diagon Alley is ment to retire next year, anyone know if there is any substance to the rumor? It has been out quite a while. Guess I'll have to pull the trigger soon, but it's so expensive...
  11. It does look a bit like a crescent moon. In Sweden it's usually a heart thought, not sure about Denmark. And it seems a bit cold to use an outhouse at a ski lodge. But Lego do love their toilets.
  12. I mean, it's Lego, it can absolutely be an outhouse, but my first thought was ski storage.
  13. Very alpine, I love it! And the sign at the door and what looks like a typical Austrian (and German?) inn keeper leather apron certainly suggest an inn of some kind.
  14. Lodge can atleast in some places also be used for a type of inn, like a hunting lodge could be both like a private cabin or a place where you pay for room and food during hunting. Here, northen Europe, the english word is used for rustic but fancy getaway places in the countryside.
  15. A very blury pic is up on insta, I think it's from a german youtube vid. From what little I can make out: I like it! Good shape, good mix of wood and stone, decent sized side build. Very curious about the inside layout. Quite different from the A-frame cabin, for those who where worried. Looks more like something from a picturesque village in the alps to me. Wonder if it's ment to be a private residence or some sort of inn.
  16. I'm thinking it was a good way in for new collectors. If you got AS you basically had a small street already, even more so if you combined it with the bookshop.
  17. I'd totally get the Hogwarts Houses Slumber Party sets, tbh.
  18. It's a really cool set, it's gorgeous how they've handled the underground parts, but it's a lot of money and pieces to complete the DA if you don't really care about the vaults and could have or miss the dragon. And I don't love how it looks with the DA in the 'home enviroment' photo, the size bother me less than the akward way it cuts of the street and messes with the lines. And I don't love how pronouced the stripes in the facade looks? Might change my mind once I see a few alternate displays with the DA but honestly, I'm not sure I'll bother at that price. Especially if like the DA it'll stay exclusive to Lego so there won't be any discounts. The reel Lego just put up on IG is bloody amazing, thought. And does make the bank itself look more impressing.
  19. Parisian Restaurant, I think. Still prettiest of the bunch. Assembly Square is looks good and impressive, but didn't love the build for some reason. And honestly, I quite like the Birch Books.
  20. So, what do we think about the new Friends line? Adding the 41748 Heartlake City Community Center to the modular city might be pushing it, thought wow am I tempted, but I think the 41757 Botanical Garden might actually be a cool addition? With H/W/D at 22/25/28 (eta: cm, obviously) it sounds like it would be reasonably in scale, and the colours are possitively muted for a Friends set.
  21. Unless it's a GWP I really can't live without I'll wait until it's no longer an exclusive and get it cheaper - but I'm patient and don't have enough time to build. Happy new year!
  22. So, I found both the Police Station and no 12 Grimmauld Place under the tree, lucky girl that I am. I do have both modular and Harry Potter displays set up separately, but I was wondering if anyone have combined 12 Grimmald Place with the modulars and have a picture?
  23. To me, that's the best thing about the restaurant. No, it doesn't look like an american pizza place, which is usually much more modern. But it does look like the little family owned proper italian pizza/pasta places that are common in large parts of Europe. Maybe people just think of very different things when they think about pizzerias? Nothing necessarily says the Jazz club have to be american, and even if it is Lego has shown before that they aren't affraid to mix and match. The book shop was very obviously inspired by dutch canal houses, and the residential building equally obviously inspired by San Francisco.
  24. I love the dried flower arrangement! Wonderful colours, will look brilliant on a table or mantle next fall.
