  1. I remember this survey that Lego did for its VIP members on if I could make a City set, what would it be. I submitted an idea for a bendy bus.
  2. My disappointment is obvious.....no bendy bus. Ok! So it obviously can't be EXACTLY like this, but it could've been somewhat similar. You can use the idea that used for the bendy piece a City set.
  3. So far, Lego has given us every type of bus known to mankind such as a motor coach (8404), a hybrid bus (60154), a double decker bus (60200), a school bus (60329), an automated shuttle (60367) and three regular transit buses (7641, 60026 and 60335),. But we have yet to recieve a bendy bus.
  4. On another note, the 2024 City wave sounds dull already with the exception of some sets such as the burger truck, racing cars and ambulance. Yes I changed my mind on the ambulance.
  5. 1. 60335 Train Station - converted that one into a bus terminal 2. 60329 School Day - was a fixer upper 3. 60347 Grocery Store - just needed to add a roof and it was all set. 4. 60330 Hospital - for obvious reasons. 5. 60328 Beach Lifeguard Station - pretty good set for a small one. 6. 40578 Sandwich Shop - loved this set. 7. 60320 Fire Station - I don't see how people hated this one. I think it's actually the best fire station we've gotten. 8. 60317 Police Chase at the Bank - or something like that. I really just got it for the bank building. But the vehicles were useful too. 9. 60316 Police Station - definitely an improvement over the last classic police station in 2020. 10. 60351 Rocket Launch Center - not bad. Wish it were road plate compatible.
  6. For me personally, I only buy Lego! But if someone wishes to use a different type of brick, then it is not my place to judge.
  7. I just need the little apron bus that goes with it.
  8. Yeah! That's a turn-off that can be fixed.
  9. So yesterday, for City release week, I had brought the 60363 Ice Cream Shop! I've gotta say.....this set actually has impressed me above the call and duty. So I'm going to start off with the pros and cons. Then I'll give my summary. TURN ONS Emphasis is on the shop itself. Only vehicle is a bike. The lady in the bear costume instead of a plain ice cream shop worker. The birthday party scene outside the shop Easy to customize - I added a wall to one of the sides. TURN OFFS A bit overpriced. I would've made it $10 cheaper. No inside furniture. But....that can be fixed. My overall summary for this set, I looooooove this thing! I love the little straight-to-the-point detail on the inside with the flavor section, milkshake blender, cones, topping section and the little refrigerator on the side. There is also a plant inside for decoration. I can tell that they took inspiration from Friends with this ice cream shop. Especially with the buildable ice cream sign on top of the building. I love the exterior as it reminds me of an average retro-style look. The front dining area is a bonus as well. I adore the little birthday party scene with the little boy with a baloon and the bear mascot. Lego so far claims that buildings don't tell stories in the City theme like vehicles do. But this building contradicts them as this building tells a story with little to no vehicle and/or emergency situations present. The little boy is coming here for his birthday party. There is a vehicle, which is the little bike and there is a cardinal for the animal mould. But the bike doesn't stand out, nor does it makes the majority of the set. This set gets a 9.5/10 from me.
  10. BRO!!!!! You've got every food truck known to the Lego world.
  11. I was impressed by the effort. The buildings were fixer uppers for me. That's what made it fun.
  12. The 2022 wave listing actually excited me.
  13. We got four ambulances recently. 60330 Hospital 40582 Off Road Ambulanr The 60371 Emergency Vehicle Headquarters 60382 Vet Van Rescue True! But still though. They're just redos of things we've seen before. Now if this list of sets had stuff we either have never seen before with City or stuff that we haven't seen in ages......then I'd be impressed.
  14. So.....I'm just going to be frank and say this: I'm already unimpressed by the list of sets for Winter 2023. Most of these sets are really just things we've seen already, if not recently. The race car transporter will likely be something like the 2021 car transport and some 2k Drive custom cars put together. The muscle car chase set sounds like something similar to 60392, only with a cruiser instead of a bike. The space stuff sounds like sets we just got in 2022, which wasn't that long ago. Fire sets don't seem interesting either. Is it bad that I'm starting to get tired of ambulances as well. So far, the go-kart and burger truck are the only two I'm looking at. I don't think it has anything to do with sales. I think Lego is just running out of ideas for City sets. As a child, I'd even get bored.
  15. In that case, I better be getting some good deals on sets when I go this Thursday!
  16. Thanks! That answers my question a lot actually because I was wondering why one of the express carriages wasn't at least there.
  17. Nice layout! Cover it with some walls, windows, an entrance and a roof. Thanks man! As I explained before, it would mostly center around female activity such as fitness centers, movie theatres, dance halls/night clubs, fancy restaurants and beauty salons. Female minifigs are the dominant minifig, though there are some men there. Basically a way of getting girls into the CIty theme. I hope it wouldn't do so well that Friends takes a hit because I love some of the builds there too.
  18. Oh that's understandable! I stand corrected then. But cmon. You've gotta admit. I wanted Lego to do a barbershop piece for City and I never knew they'd do it so slick. Kudos to TLG.
  19. Dude! Given City's recent track record of giving us buildings we never thought we'd see in the theme (i.e. school, grocery store, apartment building, etc), nothing would really surprise me at this point. Let's see what 2024 has to offer.
  20. Does this video clear things up?
