  1. So far 60269, 60271 and 60272 are missing from Brickipedia. 60273 and 60274 remain unnamed. If all those are town sets, 2020 will be the best wave we have ever gotten.
  2. Nice Thomas reference in that statement.
  3. They're secretly in love. City has always been known for their detailed vehicles. No wonder little boys love them and they sell so well.
  4. @danth Well until Lego gets management that does care, they will do what ever the heck they want.
  5. ....and space is now under City. Benny the Spaceman has made a deal with City now. Heck, you can still see torsos with his face on them. That's closure right there. Castle may succeed, but given all these rules that Lego goes by, I just don't see it returning. Now if they were to do a Forest Explorers set for City where they explore ancient castle ruins, that would be likely.
  6. The next cargo train should use this symbol. I did that with the 2018 cargo train and it actually works. In my town, the cargo train is owned by the same company that owns the planes and trucks. This symbol in my town is strictly used for the transit system.
  7. I stand corrected then on my statement about them not selling as well. Yes, they are the most expensive City sets. The town planning sets are behind those.
  8. @Medzomorak That still doesnt mean Lego will change things around from going for their targeted audience to satisfy the small percentage of adults. We don't really know the limitations Lego is under. ....and 1998 is still the 90s. @TeriXeri To be frank, I'm right up there with the people on this thread who are fighting for some classic themes to be revived as I myself prefer generic themes over licensed. Its just that with all the licensed themes out there.....I don't see it succeeding. That's what I'm trying to stress to everyone else. But everyone else wants to get all offended.
  9. That's likely because trains isn't really something that Lego City designers really want to push right now.
  10. I have the entire Turbo wheels collection, all the $10 great vehicles, ice cream truck, the police station and the forest fire set.
  11. One of the greatest creations I have seen on this site.
  12. Wikipedia is hardly reliable. Fun Fact, the dark age was during the 80s and 90s and space, pirates and castle were made during those days. Just like no one is stopping you from choosing another hobby if you can't accept that certain themes just won't make a comeback anytime soon. Or you could just accept the fact that you lost this argument and that its practically baseless at this point.
  13. Lego isn't a billionaire company. They don't have money to waste like a car company or clothing company would have. They only have time to do what they KNOW will be successful. I'm not saying that the themes themselves would be a waste. I'm talking about wasting money in general. That's why they're hesitant to bring back classic themes from the dark ages of Lego. Tbh, if bringing back those themes would bring back bad memories... I'd suggest that those stay dead. How about we put this topic to rest and give ideas on how to expand what themes are already being made by Lego and that are actually successful. Like City or Ninjago or themes like those.
  14. @TeriXeri I think Lego has been taking influence from Playmobil recently when it comes to City vehicles though. ......and has been succeeding.
  15. Every $10 City set this year has printed pieces instead of stickers.
  16. That one might be possible in terms of themes that specialize in repetition.
  17. Wut? Are you kidding me? George Carlin is the man when it comes to narrating Thomas. Carlin brought Thomas to life.
  18. A present day version of Jack O'Trades from Lego Island anyone?
