Or maybe last seat and one of these new small tri axle connector panels (from 42122 or 42123)? Maybe supported by an axle connector with pin hole on each side (though not sure if the shoulder parts are angled the same way than the part that supports the head rest).

Thanks @Thirdwigg! I today could realize a positive caster angle, but I didn't like the resulting position and look of the front fork and handle bar so I went back to what's pictured above. But I found a way to move the direction conversion 1 stud to the back, so I could connect the turbo shaft with an axle connector resulting in a moving impeller! Watching @grohl's video about gear wheels: ...actually made this possible, because it showed me a meshing gear config I didn't thought of. Together with lessening the tension on the drive chains the whole drive train works smoother now. Though the "hanging" chains don't look as good as before.

[TC19] Foxbike
johnnym replied to BrickBuildingFox's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Cool functionality (kickstart, clutch, and such - and all works as intended!) and impressive size! The rear wheel is well fitting! I need to get at least one of those, too. -
[TC19] Electric scooter
johnnym replied to johncarpenter's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Gets better and better! for using older panels! I would have gone for the bionicle teeth as rear lights as I think they more fit the scooter theme. Maybe also as front lights? But maybe too dangerous . -
@syphoon, @MajklSpajkl: Thank you guys! Glad you like it and - you guessed it - I'm also a big fan of the older panels, i.e. check my turbo cars at Rebrickable, most of them use one or another of the old panels somewhere. I think their shaping is advantageous compared to the newer panels, especially in small models! And indeed @MajklSpajkl when I fitted those two panels above the rear wheel I was like "wow, these must have been made just for this purpose!"

Same here. Apart from that I didn't notice anything else broken. Also much thanks @Jim and others involved in the move! Glad to have the forums back.

Over the past few days I worked on another bike meant to chase the one I'm participating with in TC19. @Thirdwigg: It became something different then I originally had in mind, so your swingarm design wasn't used yet - I simply didn't find a way to include it. But I expect more bikes to come in the future and your design just cries for futuristic bikes! The VICE Maverick is fully suspended and uses a dual chain drive instead of shaft drive like the other one - one chain just can't handle the power . It is nearly as wide as the Renegade but I think it's ok for the scale and it's also very stretched. It's not yet finished in all aspects (frame coloring, exhausts, lights, etc.) but I wanted to share what I have right now: More pictures on Bricksafe. It has a few quirks though: As you might have noticed it has zero to negative caster angle which is not ideal but I wanted to keep the front fork design as is and the suspension works really great with that quirk. Unfortunately the drive train works much less smooth than the one used in the Renegade. Exchanging the newer bevel gears against older LBG ones helped a little, but it's still not ideal. Maybe having less tension on the chains could help, I don't know, but it looks better with tension. Maybe just too much gears and up-gearing: rear wheel - 24z => 16z, 40z => 24z => 8z => 8z => 8z, 20z => 12z => 12z - turbo shaft. The latter is still missing, as I don't have a long or short enough axle to use. So I might need to change the length of the turbine or the place of the direction conversion.

[TC19] Kickboxer Diesel
johnnym replied to Thirdwigg's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@imvanya, @Thirdwigg I see, thanks for the info. I only knew of that similar bigger part which is 2 x 2 IIC. This smaller part looks like something I could use more often. Thanks for the link, that clarifies it. Fully agree and the longer smaller panels would stick out too much at the front. Good point, a break without a fixed attachement is not really a break. Though I think it could work in reality on that side if you make the wheel (with integrated ball bearing) run on a fixed tube or so attached to the swing arm and attach the break calipers after inserting the wheel and the break disc on that side. Cool, thanks a lot. Great, thanks! Keep up the good work! -
Closing in on the finish line - here's what changed since last post: I added a suspension to the front and exchanged the bend liftarms against two 4L half beams each - not sure if it looks better or not. The Vortex 500 got its attachments and tubing. I also did a color cleanup, the (swing)arms are now LBG, so is the handle bar - not sure if I'll keep the latter, though. The seat area got some LBG stripes, and the sides got some white highlights. I also shortly had a centered headlight but didn't like the result and came back to the existing ones. And I closed the rear wheel up against the turbine exhaust, which now exits between rear fender and the seat extension as planned. More high-res pictures on my corresponding bricksafe folder. Hope you like it!

[TC19] Kickboxer Diesel
johnnym replied to Thirdwigg's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Looks really cool and also futuristic due to the setup . Say are these Kickboxer bikes a reality or an idea? Hope you "save" this model in some way (e.g. digital model, reverse instructions, etc.) The one thing that irritated me, was the missing "nose" on the middle part. But I assume this is how it should be, right? But still, I think a nose there would look better, e.g. like the first prototypes on page 1. Than just a few questions: What are these black parts with the fins attached to the upper front orange panels? That looks really interesting. Why didn't you use one break disc of the Ducati on the front wheel, where the axle is coming out of the wheel? Doesn't the blue pin on the lower part of the front swingarm (don't know what's used on the upper part) hinder the suspension? I mean, is the shock absorber strong enough to push the swingarm fully down again after compressing it? Would it be ok for you if I reuse your front axle design in a future creation of mine (of course with reference to your original design)? I plan to release my turbo bike on Rebrickable after the contest and I then of course need a police interceptor bike to catch it. And I believe your front axle construction would look really cool on such a bike. -

I see, that's how you achieve that angle. I interpreted "I used usual pins" as 3L pins (because of the blue shine) and hence wrongly interpolated the remainder... -
[TC19] Route Clearance Vehicle
johnnym replied to ralphie's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks for the information. Wow, I didn't know there were that many, already for the Star Wars theme alone. But I just notice that the tyres of the RCV are 94.8 x 44R ones, at first I assumed these were 81.6 x 38R ones which would have been about the size of the dragster tyres I am using on my bike. So maybe the figures are too big for my machine. -

"Come get some! dakka, dakka, dakka..." What a lovely bike! I think these large figures could have the right size for my machine, too. Unfortunately I don't have any. Are these running under TECHNIC, what numbers do these have actually? -

Sorry for late reply. I made a model of what I meant. Here you go: Due to the bars, this should not wiggle too much I believe. -

@MinusAndy: I now have checked your engine and man, that engine is beautiful! Thanks for sharing the digital model with me. BTW importing LXF in Studio works flawlessly, I just need to switch computers for Windows. -

Sure, I send you a PM. Thanks! -
Yeah, I also find the motocross tyres better fitting on the contest model. I'd keep the golden rims, I think they're looking really cool on the test rig. Why not DBG? All in all totally awesome! I wish I could do something like that already, but I'm afraid, that will take a while...

Looks fantastic, the wheels are killer and so much fit the theme! Only the yellow handles look a little off IMHO, but could look differently in real. A similar looking part but with much greater color variety (e.g. dbg) would be the older axle connectors. I hope you will make a digital model so I could study the insane engine! -

Ok I was wrong with my assumption, now I see that there's a slot visible on the pin closer to the front of the white car. What do you think about using 1/2 pins in the fender part with the studs pointed and inserted to the thin liftarms and 2L pins in the part behind the thin liftarm (where currently you have 3L pins) and 3L bars connecting them alltogether?
