  1. Captain Hunter was on special assignment from the Naval Intelligence Office in Port Woodhouse. Tasked with observing bluecoat defenses and detecting weaknesses, he and Lieutenant Ryland had been camped outside the city for a week taking detailed notes. They recorded when each shift of guards took their post and when officers made their rounds. There were far fewer sentries manning the battery defenses than Hunter would have imagined. He asked Ryland to take special note that at 2PM each afternoon when shifts changed there was a period of roughly 15 minutes when only one sentry manned the whole of the western parapet! That little oversight by the garrison could be the key to the city!
  2. This is awesome and hilarious! I love the spilling milk that the pig is lapping up. Great work @TomSkippy! The wands as bayonets are a cool way to get them into Stud.io
  3. Agreed! Lots of interesting minifigs to look at and great mix of yummy looking produce!
  4. Hello, My name is Evan. I'm a 36 yo AFOL from Boulder, CO, USA. My favorite theme at the moment in Pirates, but I also like Castle. I was into LEGO Pirates as a kid, but entered my dark ages in the mid-90s. I got back into LEGO through playing Duplos with my kids and joined EB at that time to post about some Duplo pirate ship and knight custom creations. I was introduced to EuroBricks through some of @Ayrlego's wonderful pirate/castle MOCs. During COVID lockdown in 2020 I've gotten into building LEGO MOCs myself and have started creating some for the Brethren of the Brick Seas community. The process is super fun and I'm getting better at photography as I go. You can see some of my recent builds on my Flickr page: https://www.flickr.com/photos/evancelt/ Thanks for hosting this community! Evan
  5. I just did a Google search for them and I think you'd find them searching for 'jie star 20910'. Bought a few of those sets to stock up on the gray torsos! They come with goofy knight helmets/shields and tan heads/hands, so traded out everything except the torso and arms. Gave all of the knockoff bricks to my kids. Thanks Cap!
  6. Gorgeous quay @CapOnBOBS! Looks like it takes up a really big footprint. I had trouble shooting the photo of Fort Stockton (74 x 80 studs) on a white sheet backdrop, and I imagine you'd have an even rougher time!
  7. Thanks! I was picturing the gray guys as new recruits to the 26th Foot! When they get past some basic training they could get the solemn red uniforms :)
  8. Nice sloop! Did you make the green/white sails?
  9. Yeah they are fun! The hats and blunderbuss are from BrickWarriors. The hats can theoretically be painted, but I like them plain white. The hats come in black, brown, tan, and white. The gray torsos are from some jiestar (Chinese) sets, but you can get to the same outcome with stickers. Haha what's that mean? Did you mean to say "addition" perhaps? Thanks! Yeah, wanted to feature the Sarge!
  10. New recruits deliver some cannon balls, troop raising build, evancelt
  11. Sergeant Allister allows the new recruits to take a short break after restocking cannon balls at their 8th battery at Fort Stockton. With each recruit carrying two cannon balls each, it only takes two trips to each battery to supply the necessary material. As new recruit Ewan MacReagie leans back against the battery wall, he figures only 16 more round trips to go before they break for lunch! Troop raising build for Wullham OOC: I wanted to do a first troop build at Fort Stockton and, since most of my normal green bricks are currently tied up in the Fort Stockton build itself, I tried out the sand green / dark orange color scheme. Threw in some light bley / medium lavender / aqua for fun!
  12. Thanks @Ayrlego! While the island may be pretty treeless, the fort builders were able to find two large tree trunks to use for the roof beams! Agreed, the wide expanses of green can look a little bare. Was kind of going for that - a rolling bare hillside look. This build in particular is seaside and I imagine extra windy as a result. Perhaps some rocks and additional vegetation would help in future builds. I liked the upside down 1x1 round plates/flowers you used in the Wullham residence build recently. That would likely help here as well. Interesting tip about the sand green. I will try that in some upcoming Wullham builds I have planned. I certainly like sand green better than lime green Thanks @Maxim I! I'm imagining Fort Stockton is a massive, sprawling fort and this is just one little (big) vignette of it. There are 16 shore batteries and we only see 2 here! The fort walls don't close behind that fort building, so there may be 20+ other similar builds down the beach a little Anyway, just saying while the fort may not look big here, that's because I was going for a fort complex rather than a @CapOnBOBS-style bastion. Plenty of space to build near Wullham! I have some additional builds planned that explore additional areas of Fort Stockton, so we'll get to see more not pictured here! Thanks @Spud The Viking! I also think the map updates help it feel more like a real(ish) place! Good tips re: the empty feeling. I was kind of going for a big massive fort complex with lots of empty room to do stuff, but may have not gotten that across well. I have some additional builds planned that explore additional areas of Fort Stockton, so we'll get to see more not pictured here!
  13. Thanks @Captain Dee! Looking forward to exploring more about life at Fort Stockton in future builds. RE: Speed, we're still in COVID lockdown in my area, so I have lots of free time once my wife and kids go to sleep (if I don't mind being a little tired the next day). Thanks @Kai NRG! Included my first lime green in a build in this one. It really makes normal green look dark! Next time I may put bright green between the lime and normal green to form a gradient. I'm also becoming a big fan of medium nougat - it makes the dark tan (which is great too!) look a little lifeless. Med Nougat is my go-to now for dirts and dark tan is for wet sand / sands.
  14. Thanks! Looking forward to having some more @Bregir builds in Wullham!
  15. Super cool build, @Niku! I love the texture on the wall behind the Marshal... looks like this wasn't the first firing squad to visit the space
  16. Gunboats located at Fort Stockton to help protect Wullham Bay, evancelt
  17. @Bregir - I've added some new revisions to the gunboat and hereby re-submit the two variants. I've also now located the gunboats in Wullham Bay
  18. Yes, it is! I think I missed this one when you first posted it, @NOD! Impressive work!
  19. I'd love to help out - I'm pretty active on there and pretty much do all of that already except remove SPAM posts
  20. Day after posting remorse Haha I think I'll try cutting the hull height in half and resubmitting a more realistic row-able boat (the way it's made I think I can just pop off the bottom two rows of SNOT) - will post here when there is an update
  21. Task 2: Oaken Shield 2: Gunboats, Wullham Bay
  22. Two new types of gunboat are being deployed in Wullham Bay to help protect the coastal waters. The boats, which can be rapidly put to sea from Fort Stockton, are oar- and sail-powered, and pack a punch with a large onboard gun. An oar-powered gunboat: A sail-powered gunboat: Original Post photo: Submitted to Glory of Corrington - Oaken Shield - Gunboats for the Colonies. To be licensed as two gunboats
  23. Another imposing fortress, @CapOnBOBS! That's the 3rd one in the past month, right? You're getting really great at these - keep up the good work!
