I wish I could have come up with something more interesting too... But there really ain't much room in there. So I focused more on the looks. I love the exhaust pipes! Seriously, the Technic aspect I'm most happy with on this build is the rear single arm. They're not easy to do; they tend to twist. This one does not. It's firm, compact and, having 2 cardans, homokinetic. Woot!

Thanks! I'm sorry to you hear you won't be submitting another bike, I love seeing fresh bike builds! I'll try and take your suggestions into account. More evilness could definitely be a nice touch. Yeah, that's what I though at first about the headlight. But then it grew on me, and this kinda inadequate looks match the theme in my opinion. Plus, the next available round piece would be 3x3 which would clearly be over sized. And I've tried with a rectangular 3x2 composite, but it's not as sturdy and doesn't look better in the end.

Thanks! The layout is basically 2 flat fours in vertical position, connected together by 2 24 tooth classic wheels on top. The front engine is then connected to the transmission shaft below by a 12 tooth bevel on a 20 tooth wheel. Nothing complicated, really. Initially, I wanted to have a gearbox, but that was too hard to cram in that tiny space. So I just made something that simply works. I'll add more pictures soon.

Hi and thanks for this contest idea, it's great! I'm a big fan of Mad Max, so I had to take part: absurdly overpowered engines, off-road capability and possibly weapons? I'm in. I love building bikes, and those contests always lack bikes, so a motorcycle it had to be. I wanted a shaft driven single swing arm because it allows for quick wheel change and the absence of a chain is a good thing when riding sand. Also, I packed the beefiest power unit possible; a quad flat twin. That's right; 8 cylinders in a cube layout. Flat twins are proven, reliable pieces of motorcycle machinery, why not stack them instead of just using a car's engine? Finally, I added a nitro tank for that extra speed spike that will leave everyone biting my dust. Yeah, and also some ways to retaliate; explosive and smoke grenades in the back, and a large caliber gun to go. It's getting near finished, sorry for the poor quality photos, didn't have time to set-up a correct shooting session yet. Thanks for watching!

Thanks! I wanted the place to feel busy: it had to look like my wife's garden. I kinda used all plants and flowers and sticks I had at hand... And a 30 y.o. parrot from a 90's pirate set.

Thanks Rohan! Yes, that's what I like with GBC and Lego in general; doing things my way; even if the concept I implement is not new. But with GBC, there's even this thing of finding a way to lift up balls that was never used before! I'm looking forward.. I've plenty of them ideas! You're totally right. A single piston stepper. Makes me realize I also have to learn the associated vocabulary.

Last Christmas, my wife's Lego present from me was 21313 Ship In a Bottle. This year, we got 21318 Tree House. So there wan't enough space anymore on the shelf for the bottle. Along with the tree house came a lot of leaves for the alternate season build. I figured I should reuse the parts from the bottle and build a greenhouse for those left-over leaves, since my wife's much into growing plants. The roof opens... And the whole greenhouse can be lifted up to reveal the interior. That's the technique I used to hold my SNOT side window panels. I'm happy with the result, once assembled, the model can be grabbed without too much care and is tough enough for my kids to play with.

Hi there! My 2.5 years old son has started showing interest for engines. I figured I could build him a model that shows the basics. With a removable engine as a feature. I had a few Mindstorm NXT white parts left at hand, so that decided the color scheme. It of course had to be small, light, and tough: a 1 meter drop should not be an issue. That's the result: The engine holds solely on the light grey pin above. It's very easy to take apart. The black thin beams inside the front mud guards give the radiator a slight back angle, so that the hood clicks in place nicely in the 2 studs on top of the radiator. Those panels look nice from back here. They are hard to put in use since there aren't many in that color. So definitely, I like them where they are now. That's my boy's new favorite toy! Thanks for watching!

Hi GBC lovers! After spending hours watching GBC videos in the past few years, I finally stepped in during the last holidays. I started building a prototype that used Zamor spheres sized balls, since I already had a few at hand from a Mindstorm NXT. But those are bigger, with a significantly more problematic injection hole. I was happy when my Pick-A-Brick order of 50 orange balls arrived and I could start working with the actual stuff. As a first module, I wanted something simple, reliable and that fit the rules. Plus, I wanted it to pass one ball at a time, with a reliable delay between balls. That's my milking cow: It's a simple ball pump, but it's my design! Then, I added a conveyor and slide to be able accommodate for actually interesting modules to come, and got my first loop. With only very few parts remaining, I built a simple stepper. Just because the underlying mechanics look like a massive in-line 10 cylinders motor, which is fun. I already could line them all up, Milking Cow in front, and take part in a GBC event! I'm now waiting for more parts (I found a used, incomplete 42055 for about 70$), which should allow me to start building a nice custom module.. Till then, thanks for watching!

Congratulations on the achievement of this wonderful project! Everything about it is brilliant; involving Grum, the choice of the car to model, the involvement of Pagani, the modelling itself (Jeroen Ottens, you've outdone yourself!) and last but not least, the charity auction... You both are amazing people, thank you for sharing this real-life fairy tale with us!

[BSBA] Cat B - The Space Bar
1980SomethingSpaceGuy replied to 1980SomethingSpaceGuy's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Thanks Grum! The spaceship could be improved a lot, but even more than time (this was built in one night, the last day of the contest) I had to make do with the parts I have. This is about all blue/grey parts left that I have: For example, I wish I could have used more blue, but almost all the blue went under the body, and I even had to build a rib cage-like structure because I got carried away and the ship ended bigger than expected. The upside is that it is quite light! So it has flaws, but not in terms of playability. Which is my priority: my kids have to be able to play with my MOCs. Thanks for reading! -
[BSBA] Cat B - The Space Bar
1980SomethingSpaceGuy replied to 1980SomethingSpaceGuy's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Chill, ain't it? Thanks! Yes, there were no other entries with that classic space color theme and style, so I felt I had to! It was 4AM CET on the initial deadline day when I finished publishing the spaceship pictures. So they were quite dim and most notably, the transparent yellow parts lack their fluorescent shine in the absence of UV. Since the deadline was pushed, I thought it was okay to post better pics with acceptable lighting. It's not a huge build, but it is tough enough to let my kids play with it, plus it has nice play features. Tested and approved! -
[CONTEST] BSBA - Voting thread

This time, Benny and his friends were called on duty as they were enjoying themselves at their favorite spot; the Space Bar! It's a nice place to hang out. Gino the bartender is most friendly. He can synthetize any drink you like. And the primitive components' kegs can be replaced easily. Be sure to test the lounge area too. Quite the deal, after a few drinks from outer space. Then, Benny and friends had to go on mission without delay. They borrowed Gino a few parts. In fact he was left with almost nothing but the promise they will come back and pay for their drinks... and the rest. Being a bartender is not an easy life! And it was spaceship building time. This is what Benny came up with using parts from the Space Bar: Spaceship! I felt I had to put it an entry for Cat B. With not much time nor parts, each one of these MOCs are one night builds. I started sorting out all parts in the classic space color scheme that were more or less usable in a spaceship and built something that was not a spaceship with them. The Space Bar appeared. Then, the following night, I dismantled the bar and started building a spaceship. It was a very fun experience, even if the result is quite modest. It's now very late, I think I need some rest. Too bad the bar is gone...

[BSBA] CAT B- Benny's Space Transporter/Hovercraft
1980SomethingSpaceGuy replied to spongebrickpl's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
On the main BSBA Topic, Bob said that. So I guess either you consider this build the is bennification of another and you'll have to build a new MOC that would in fact be the model this build is based on (a blocky bunker/landing pod maybe?), OR you consider this model is the base and you build an actual spaceship out of this one. The choice is yours, but you'll need two MOCs for cat B, I'm quite sure. Hope this helps! -
[BSBA] CAT B- Benny's Space Transporter/Hovercraft
1980SomethingSpaceGuy replied to spongebrickpl's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Excellent blocky, old school looks. Highly improbable, lots of fun, I like it ! Will you build a spaceship based on this, or is this the bennification of another MOC ? I think you need to have the before/after thing... Maybe ask Bob to make sure. -

[BSBA] Cat A - Town Hall Spaceship
1980SomethingSpaceGuy replied to koalayummies's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I just thought of something.. Isn't it missing a door ? Especially, the door to a town hall is something symbolic, it's usually imposing. You come in a bachelor and get out a married man. Or the opposite. But still..
