  1. Miss Butterfly had her ride pimped! More race looks with a new body kit: spoilers, mirrors, rims, carbon disk brakes, fuel tank caps and more. A much needed upgrade; with all those fancy cars popping around, she was becoming shy to ride along in the neighborhood.
  2. You build whatever you please. Beware of what you say it is, or at all, for that matter. That was my advice.
  3. Damn, I don't remember speaking russian. Seriously, we're building Lego here. It's for fun, sure. But we're a community, so that means we have some social interaction, and a minimum of seriousness is required in that sense, I believe. I'm convinced people would think better of you should you take more care checking your sources and using your in-line translator. Avoid horrors like speaking of Wankel pistons and posting in russian, please.
  4. What!? I'm not a big car fan and don't care much about the F&F movies, but I know Mazda RX have Wankel engines, precisely because that's exotic.. Is that not the case in the movie? [Edit] It is. https://www.topspeed.com/cars/mazda/2005-the-fast-and-the-furious-tokyo-drift-veilside-rx-7-ar11157.html They mention a V intercooler, not a V engine. The engine is a Wankel.
  5. I've been thinking about it a lot. And after an acceptable (color swap) scavenging from other builds, I managed to slightly improve the seats: I had to keep the top vertical since it is part of the structure, but the lower part at an angle improves the flow, I guess. Funny detail, the 3L red beams are held in position by captive 3L minifig sticks, so that they don't rotate forward. Cheers!
  6. Thank you very much! Much appreciated. In fact, what you see here is almost everything I have in terms of white panels or light blue pieces altogether.. It's sometimes more the pieces that dictate the design than the opposite! Alas, I don't have those 1 stud connectors in red for the headrests. I've tried black, but it doesn't work. I've tried this : And I think I'll keep it. Thanks for that! I would have loved to recline the seats, but they're structural.. They're L shaped beams, and I just don't have enough red left to do something fancier. But I totally agree with you on that. Ideally, I would have put the front fenders 1 stud lower and 1 stud back. But indeed, the bulky custom suspension structure is in the way. Same with the rear: with the pieces available, I could maybe sit 1 stud lower, and probably at a significant cost in terms of sturdiness, but not much more. I don't have the parts pool to go for an amazingly refined build like some that are already popping out and run for victory in this contest. My objective with this entry is mostly to have fun. And share some of the fun with my kids, so I often pick up the more sturdy solution over the more realistic. Arranging the few parts I have into something that catches the eye has been a blast so far. Thanks again for helping improve it!
  7. You may devise something based on this: By the way, I highly suggest you give this channel a look. Nothing new for a long time, but it's a gold mine.
  8. I think it's more balanced with a slightly wider hood.
  9. I beg to differ. Those are perfectly fine to hold 2 half sized liftarms together. Just not the way it is done here. He could be using those. They would allow the pin to go all the way through and this would certainly be more efficient. Because, in the end, the most important thing is that it works, legal or not. Isn't it? In that sense, I'm also concerned with the 2 bevels facing each other...
  10. It made no sense to have such a big front body since the engine is in the back, so this got redesigned. I decided to give this spoiler a try. It's not unarguably nicer, but it's fun, so.. I also tweaked a few things here and there.
  11. Yep, we digressed a bit.. But to get back to contest matters, that gave me inspiration for this entry's name, which is nice!
  12. My thinking exactly.. I knew you were a great builder already. I discover you're also a great person! The pace my (recent) parts pool grows has sped up a bit lately, but it's still quite modest. And I just don't have a lot of room, living with wife and kids in a flat. All the available parts hold in this box: On the plus side, I have zealous testers. My son thoroughly tests robustness: And my daughter cares about playability (this is how I found it after this morning's conf-call): Sharing the fun!
  13. Very nice job you did here ! Building with constraints boosts creativity, and that's a nice example!
  14. Thanks! The whole thing is built around the concept "I don't have the right piece for that, let's find a workaround." So it's not perfect in any sense, but in the end, I like it even more, I think. Of course, it's not easy to get people feel the same; what they tend to see is just an inappropriate pile of random parts... It looks like you did not: this makes me very happy indeed!
  15. Thank you very much for the feedback! I agree with you, there was something better to do with the windshiled and the rear. Update: The difference is not huge, but it sure looks better. Cheers!
  16. A few more tweaks.. Thanks for watching! Feedback is welcome.
  17. I have a body ! I like those white fender parts but the only color I have enough panels in is dark azure, so I kinda have to make do with two-tones. The doors and the engine bay open. Cheers!
  18. It looks nice ! Especially with the roof on, IMO. NPU of the side panels around the cockpit! Maybe you could find a way to get the headlights a bit smoother (lower)? I would have some ideas but I don't know if you have those parts in orange or if they even exist in that color..
  19. I reckon Jim is getting more and more tired about tires. Next TC will be boats..
