  1. ahh yes i recognize this one too. saw a video of it
  2. the loco only drove two meters or so before the axles broke like this. this is why some of the wheels are weird like that. for more info visit: https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/neuheiten/maz-547-m63-12x12-offroad-diesel-lok-in-russland/
  3. locomotive on roadwheels! something only the russians could come up with.
  4. here is my idea on how you could pull something like this for running on an acutal toothed track up a hill off @Paperinik77pk: 9v motor is just for comparison, i am not done as i havent attached a motor yet or stiffened the frame. the rail with the theeth is pretty realistic id say.
  5. that was also a thought but the issue with it is that it would ruin the wood texture of the vehicle as they are sideways built jumpers but good idea regardless! true. you have seen it correctly. #2 is my favourite too
  6. nice introduction! not much of a 12v guy myself as i was born long after the discontinuation of the system but i still enjoy it. i like 9v more but to each their own.
  7. now lets see this go around r40 ;-). jk. nice work.
  8. looks very nice! can only second @Paperinik77pk the boogies articulation is very well done!
  9. oh no that dad joke man. rly?!
  10. i also find it insane how realistic some of the models look. i mean now we have 1000s of special pieces and can just whip out any snot solution but back then? still kinda blows me away.
  11. the thing with comments in your reply sums it up pretty well. take my latest moc for example: i would have never thought about making the middle window bigger. it really encourages you to make your models better if someone else with an entirely different view is looking at them and commenting on what they think. i personally find modding existing models other people have built even harder than just building a model from scratch yourself. it just takes different skills. if you look at it the other way: we as mocers also only mod 99% of the time just that our prototypes where we base our models off of havent been built in bricks yet.
  12. i actually did a typo. i ment to write niche instead of nice and of instead of if. i am not the type to flex with my own work but that somehow works too. thanks for the compliment.
  13. you could repace the 9v train motor with a technic built frame that has the same shape. that way you could integrate a gear that grips a toothed rail made of toothed bricks making a real cog railway. there is enough space in the vehicle to build in a technic motor. edit: i just realized that you are italian @Paperinik77pk so it is just fitting for you!
  14. true that. most if the times my train mocs are so nice that even a generic search eventually leads to my mocs.
  15. thank you! i dont have the time for it sadly but you can if you want to. just look in my signature there is a link to a shared onedrive with all my models in it including that one. it is in the folder "zug" and then in the folder "ritten" you will find the file with all the versions
  16. ...and i am done! variant 1: variant 2: variant 3: ...and all of them side by side: you decide which one looks best!
  17. this loco was used only on the cog section. on the flat ones there where (and still are on the upper section) electric railcars used which where pushed up the mountain on by one of these locos. edit: i am trying different variants right now you will see them all and then you guys can decide which one looks best.
  18. for the east german bba mining locomotives you can visit: and then scroll down a bit. there where many variants of them each one produced by modifying the last one.
  19. i now added some details and considered your suggestion with the longer middle window:
  20. looking again at the prototype i get your suggestion with the longer middle window. i wont double it but it will be 2 plates wider by making two plates transparent istead of white . thanks for the suggestion. as for the looking compressed. the original also looks compressed so i think it fits and i dont like building very wide and large models i like sticking as close as possible to 6 wide.
  21. Hello all, here is a new locomotive moc from me: one of the locomotives from the since replaced cog railway part of the ritten railway. first some history about the prototype. the prototype was used on the ritten railway in italy. they needed to connect oberbozen with bozen because tourism was becomming an increasingly important factor and a railway was thus built to bring tourists up the mountains. the first section (is now deconstructed) was similar to a tramway in its design. the second section, the one connecting the upper part with the lower part was built very steeply and thus required the use of locomotives to push the railcars used on the flat lower and upper sections up the hill. the locomotives themselves had two motors with 150HP each and carried the railcars up the hill at about 7kph. the second and first sections where in use until 1966 at which point they where replaced by an aerial tramway which since itself was replaced by a more modern gondola. the remnants of the former second steep section can still be seen: here is the prototype: enough about the prototype here is the model: if you want to know more about how the protoype was restored: https://www.tmb.at/fahrzeuge/lokomotivserie-1-3-4-rb edit: now added some details: hope you like it!
  22. can only second this. have fun in your life.
  23. looks very nice! you captured it perfectly. ingenious solution for connecting the tender and loco together.
  24. i would probably focus on the electrical side more so old style transformers, gauges, switch panels and ofcourse the mercury arc rectifiers will be the main pieces. i kind of like old electrical equipment from the early days with white porcellan insulators.
  25. looks pretty accurate. dont get me wrong i dont dislike your idea or the design but it just looks a bit weird to me. i cant pinpoint why though. maybe i am just used to brickbuilt cabs on us diesels or idk.
