  1. i am still able to download them, maybe its on your end.
  2. ah so its an inspiration of an inspiration, then thank you @raised !
  3. you know what the best part is? the hood is completely empty (aside from a bit of weight to give it more traction).
  4. so today i did some modifications, i changed the a bit unreleiable märklin power pickups to the traditional carrera ones: it now uses rubber wheels for propulsion instead of the rubber bands which sometimes got stuck inbetween the rails: here is a video: hope you like it!
  5. here is a classic video about what to do if your v200 catches fire by the deutsche bundesbahn (most of the principles are a product of its time and not done this way today of course)
  6. for the nose, credit goes to @Sérgio, i just copied what he did from the pictures of his and made it 6w.
  7. thank you! yeah the vents were a thing i used to do in older mocs aswell, and on that locomotive the vents actually stand out a tiny bit from the rest of the body so its surprisingly prototypical. thanks aswell! still need to add more Details when i get the time for it.
  8. i love the freight cars, the rounded ends are something you dont see every day, very good and fun build!
  9. I have always liked the shape of these locomotives, tried to build one several times, but never got to the point where i was happy with one. Then i saw the fantastic 8 wide version of @Sérgio, i knew i had to try again. here is the result: Its a 1600 from the Netherlands, operated by DB-Schenker rail I built it with the bricks i had laying around, so some details are not perfect yet, i debated adding the third light but never found a way to have it look good. the fixture was always too big. its still not 100% done but its in a presentable state now the nose is more or less copied from @Sérgio, solid design and thank you a lot for the ideas! I still need to add details to the doors and stuff. if anyone has an idea on how to add the third light feel free to comment! Hope you like it! XG BC
  10. Hey micheal, Fantastic writeup, as someone that has studied electrical engineering for 2 years (though we mostly did AC cirquits where things like inductance and stuff have a greater impact meaning wire length is essential to get right and equal), i agree with all your points, in fact i have "restored" such a motor myself with the methode you described. It was a large drill motor like several kW in power. and yes you could drill through concrete with that one afterwards like it was butter. HILTI makes solid tools, can recommend.
  11. Wow, just wow. this is an awesome model. no other words needed.
  12. Thanks! seems like i wasnt the first person to have that idea to motorize a portal crane in this way... I also added a third switch to the Control box, will post a picture tomorrow.
  13. Thanks! yeah that was the look i was going for, there are so many little details and differences, of course my crane isnt prototypical to any single one of them, but it captures an image of one. Thanks, yeah an official set would need to have the motors changed and probably also the String spool system that moves the crane around but yes something like this motorized would be quite cool as a set
  14. does the motor itself run? does it make noise? do the wheels spin? that would narrow it down more whats actually wrong.
