  1. I got some other figs in ebay lots where I was gunning for other figures. I have like 7 batman. I'm not with my collection at the moment but off the top of my head it's something like: 2021 Tumbler, 1992 polybag. Batman (TDK), Batman (1992), Batman (generic 2015 era suit), Batman (purist battinson custom- uses that generic 2015 torso because I never bought the actual battinson one), Batman (Batfleck BvS suit), Batman (TLBM suit with the TDK nightmare face and no utility belt), Superman (classic 2012 with curlless hair because the lot only had his torso), Superman (Cavill), Robin (from the deathstroke set), Flash (from the 2014 riddler set with dual molded boots I got on pick a brick), Jonkler (TLBM torso and legs with 2012 face and an aviator cap). If I had the energy to expend I'd link that image of Bruce going apebricks on a fast food worker for offering him jonklerized fries. ( justifiably, that's a maniacal thing to offer as a product in a world with a real joker who has killed thousands of people, but it's funny) This is so inaccurate... ...who says we're allies with Britain? Ronald McDonald, Phd. Wait, it still says taking a break. There may be some hope for your sith master after all. Don't think I forgot already.... GUYS! I read in the news about a squirrel. Then someone said they have a squirrel superhero. Chip. He flies (LIKE A BEE) but no laser eyes. Interesting. I found this set *pretend I linked a friends set I'm not going through the trouble of finding one* has a SQUIRREL. Maybe it is DC? Why are we talking about Doctors? Alfred is a doctor. He works with Master Splinter. To fight Purple-13. But secret. Batman does not know. (Turtle Tuesday #1)
  2. I am somewhat surprised we haven't had a wolvmobile yet. It's strange. (It would have to come with Wolverized Venomarine, as you know.) The scene where he finds his mom and realizes that his childhood dream of finding his parents was built on his false perception that he was separated from his mom rather than the truth that his mom abandoned him hit me pretty hard. But you're absolutely right that in terms of connections or worldbuilding type of impact there's not much aside from the somewhat disconcerting notion that Snyder Batman has merch in his universe. As for the second part, that was intentional. He's had to mature past his age due to his circumstances, so when he becomes an "adult" with powers he acts more childlike than before- the movie's not the only time they've done this.
  3. Honestly aside from the Bugle I don't think we've gotten many civilians in Marvel over the past half-decade or so. They've done the White House a couple times, alongside the lincoln memorial and the capitol building. So four in a decade and a half or so- you'd be forgiven for forgetting, but lego does make lego DC sets. Oh, wait, did you mean that obscure comic book publisher? I think they did a few sets in the late 2000s/early 2010s, but the only license from that IP holder we get anymore is that bat guy from the Robert Pattinson movie. Though I think the leaks said we might get a set with some sort of obscure character named soup man? I think this thread degenerated my mental state enough to get me to purchase the morbius set (for $12, but still). Ironically I think this is the thread I'm most active in yet the only DC sets I've bought myself... ever? have been the 2021 system Tumbler and 1992 Batman Polybag.
  4. You guys are getting generic civilian slots?
  5. I wouldn't call this a technical issue, though. Too bad, you said you didn't like shazam and now I have to tell you I didn't like media you enjoyed. On the bright side, the high republic adventures 4+ sets have been shelfwarming to ludicrous levels (I think I've seen people posting images of the $35 one going for $15 at some outlets), which could at least get you some torsos. I would not be happy if two full anniversary figure slots got dedicated to the Acolyte of all things but I'll take a Sol figure. IMO putting ROTS above TFA is an interesting choice but to each their own. IIRC we- in a bout of star wars giving us perhaps too much information- do know when they were conceived (which if I remember right is right after anakin accidentally kills a ton of people in one of the canon Thrawn books) and the timeline more or less works.
  6. It can be true that someone told minisuperheroes today they sell well with kids, and that Ashnflash has consistent findings with many of us that they're shelfwarming hard. Actually, depending on what specifically was said to minisuperheroes, both could be completely true- they shelfwarm, but whatever copies are sold are bought by kids. What? I loved the shazam movies! The second one was a little weaker- although also the funniest DC movie- but the first one was legitimately great. True, but that's a collector-oriented line. The constraction figures are a kid gimmick line, and those don't tend to survive years off. Whatever faults that show had, it did truly show Sam living up to Cap's legacy by becoming the Captainball from HISHE.
  7. Until I forget. Rest In Peace our Hero in a Half Shell. Fly high (like a bee) in heaven. Guys I think Renny's part of the lego superheroes design team.
  8. Ok sure, he made the type of minor infraction a fairly big number of forum members make (we already talked about how many of us started our account underage, and I know for a fact multiple members came back after bans speaking the same way, or just straight up continuing conversations they had before being banned, and nobody went after them. I don't think people SHOULD go after them, but if you're gonna enforce the rules, enforce the rules. Yes. They killed him already. Didn't even line it up with the scheduled time. :( In honor of his death I will begin Turtle Tuesdays, wherein I will post like Turtle in this thread on Tuesdays. I can't get the quantity of responses when he was active down because I work when he was active, but I should have the writing style down pat. Why don't you just call the justice league for help?
  9. What? What movie adaption? I don't know what you're talking about. Those don't exist. Cautiously optimistic about the disney+ series. It's an opportunity, but they've already taken down two of my other favorite childhood book franchises (Artemis Fowl and Mysterious Benedict Society- although to be fair I didn't think the latter was all that bad, it just missed the spark of the books), so I don't have high hopes. Plus the newer book, Murtagh, reminded me how mature the series is/gets- being written media where they don't dwell on the gore, it's not as obvious, but it'd have to be a TV-14 series for the later installments in the cycle. I think we could see a number of $30-50 sets with each base dragon and a few side builds- I don't know that something like the haddock house or red death would sell super well at that price, like you say, but I do think cheaper sets for each dragon would do very well, and I think lego recognizes that. Very well said.
  10. Same- not the exact same stuff, but same. All I want left is for Dune and Transformers to become full themes, and for Eragon, although that'll need to become a visual medium because we're not getting sets based only off books. Very happy that Lego How to Train Your Dragon is coming. I don't have much space left in my collection, but Hiccup and Toothless will find their way in no matter what. (Unless they mold all the dragons, that would really annoy me. Ninjago has shown how well they can pull off brick-built dragons, and i agree with @Agent Kallus that anything larger than a horse feels like it's not really lego when it's molded instead of built.
  11. But this is exactly what Boba Fett is like in the original trilogy. Arguably this was the closest element Phasma had in common with Boba Fett. This is actually the scene that got me to buy his starfighter lego set, which by extension brought me back into lego star wars. I have a soft spot for TFA because of it. Or Captain Cardinal!
  12. He's still taking a break, where there's light there's hope. He literally did nothing wrong this time. If this is the standard for reporting people I'm digitally executing order 66 on a solid quarter of the site. "Whatever happens next, I'm glad it was here" But seriously, it was a lot of fun, and a very unique piece of obscure lore for the lego fandom. And we created more Mara fans which is always a win. I am Turtle (If we're all turtles can I be Donatello?) Clone Commado, teach me your ways. Also spinjitzu if you can, I think that would give me a leg up in the live-action Jay audition.
  13. That's cool, thanks for letting me know. In that case, it is weird we haven't seen it yet- maybe just because it'd need a new print, but that'd be absurd even for marvel. Seriously- sometimes it makes sense- the X-jet was insanely overpriced, but it still seems to have sold ok because it was the first normal x-men set in a decade. (Not saying that wasn't kind of a jag move from lego, but it makes financial sense) But the Hoopty? Did they think there were masses of Captain Marvel diehards out there just starving for figures of her despite her being readily availible in cheaper sets over the past few years?
  14. By god, you're right. Riddler is Turtle. (Apparently for legal reasons this now needs to be a joke) I dunno. Heath is one of the few characters where I really don't think anyone could have replicated his performance- I'm usually not against recasting (And hate when companies act like it's super disrespectful or whatever and then turn around and recast Harrison Ford as Ross)- but I don't see a reason to do it when he didn't really need to be in this story. If they really wanted to they could have thrown in a line where Bane says something like "The clown won't come out of his cell without batman" or something like that. Guys, c'mon, who reported riddler/turtle? He hadn't done anything on this account. Don't kick him off.
  15. If I remember correctly, the CMF characters are made out of a slightly different plastic or pigmentation or something like that- I wouldn't be surprised if using CMF molds in system sets was a little closer to "new mold" budget than a standard re use.
  16. The president in this one's a character who's been an antagonist in every previous movie he's been in, which isn't really implying a Zemo style "both sides are good guys being manipulated" situation to me. I was concerned about this as well but from what others said here it sounds like it's just a low res image and a bad angle.
  17. Also in both continuities Wu is recruiting child soldiers then. At least in the show continuity it's genetic predisposition to superpowers, but in the movie verse he's kinda just having a group of highschoolers pilot massive military industrial complex machinery to fight an enemy force. We actually did get a Bat and army tumbler back in 2012, but we're overdue a new bat and a bat-bike. Turtle, I want to know who people's favorite Robin is, but I'm not very good at calling polls. Would you be able to do that? Thanks.
  18. I agree that if they don't have the guts to do Russia or China, it's a good idea to go with a fake country, but I don't know how many options they have there. Out of those three, Sokovia and Madripoor are tiny and wouldn't be able to be a threat (Not to mention Madripoor is supposed to be like, super corrupt so I dunno how much sympathy they'd get from the US taking adamantium). Wakanda is already kinda weirdly involved in Sam's story as Captain America, giving him the suit and all, so having him take their side over an in-the-wrong america might not be great optics (that's where this story is going, right? I feel like it's a pretty easy prediction that this is going to be "america tries to muscle it's way in against the innocent country who has the adamantium and Sam ends up stopping them" And no way they make Wakanda part of the problem, either.). Not to mention Wakanda's whole thing is having unbreakable metal so it'd just be kind of a weird story choice for them to also have adamantium, especially when they just went through a story about other countries trying to get the precious metal their country is known for. Of course there are other fake countries in Marvel, but the only one I could think of that fits "country with tension with america and the power to pull it off (and isn't filled with mutants marvel doesn't want to use yet)" is Latveria, and that's not happening until Avengers 6: RDJ makes Cecil's teleporting budget look like pocket change. I would say Iron Patriot essentially counts as "new" at this point. The new low IMO is if that set's actually $55.
  19. I rolled a nat 20 let's go. *In Gimli voice* You have my jetpack. I always thought they were all young adults from the start, this information not only makes the other 3 Hansen level threats but puts Jay in a gray area. Actually, Cole too, right? Wasn't that a thing before he died in season 4? I think I'm missing the part where turtle even started the war. (lol) but also yeah if the ninja are under 18 this could put Morro on the list too.
  20. Disney notoriously takes black guys off posters and marketing in China. Finn in TFA is a great example (I mean not great, it's messed up, but like it's a prime example of it.). The assumption is helmeted Sam will probably be the one shown in all the marketing and products in China. It was absolutely the soviets, yeah. But 2024 marvel isn't 2014 marvel (and also, the entire winter soldier movie was pretty unique for marvel. I think it's the best they've ever shown Cap's character.), and over the last decade a certain global event started that made it controversial to put russia in this stuff again. Entirely depends on the price to me. I've been pronouncing it like that the whole time, is it actually ee-gor then?
  21. Love the profile picture. Their mistake was 1: Her personality in general- she's a first order captain. That's not the "cool edgy loner" archtype. 2: Fully fleshing out her backstory in a novel - this is like direct self-sabotage, completely defeats the mystery element. and 3: giving her so much presence and interaction with other characters in the first place. Boba Fetts don't come about because you made a cool character. Boba Fetts come around because you made a cool design, stuck it in the background, and fans grafted onto it after the fact. Like Sidon Ithano. I dunno the lifebricks hints all feel generic enough that it fits the "he doesn't know anything and is playing leaker by throwing generalities at the wall" to see what sticks. #1 could be literally any helmet, diorama, or midi-scale ship. #2 could be anything from a set based on popular new media with a wasted fig slot to a remake of a popular set that has a high price point and a desirable character. #3 sounds the most specific but this could legitimately be anything from young boba fett to the choice to put TROS palpatine in a book.
  22. I don't understand the Igor figure. It has the same fundamentally goofy head/torso design, which was my main issue with the first one, and now they'd removed my boy's elbows. How much is this set supposed to be, again? Disney does this every time they want a movie to do well in China. Never forget this is a company who just a few years ago thanked a province with active concentration camps in it. Their holier-than-though stuff in their movies is darkly hilarious as they're in bed with one of the worst major regimes currently on the planet. Also, just to the movie as a whole, the "USA and Japan go to war" thing is kinda funny to me given we're pretty solid allies. Like a half decade ago the US President and Japanese prime minister were straight up just friends. It feels like they're trying to do "dark political thriller", but whoever wrote it didn't want to be "controversial" by making it a country the US actually has tension with like Russia (Which I also don't get, during the cold war every other film was "C'mon Rocky pound Drago's face in!", but that's a tangent on a tangent", and of course couldn't make it China because they want the market, so they just spun the globe. I want to see the alternate universe where there was a slight wind and we got to see Sam Wilson Captain America going to war with Britain. I agree they're covering it to appease china and that's gross, but "I hate that fact that covering his face is an option" might be overdoing it a bit. Plenty of marvel heroes have fully-enclosed helmets, like Iron Man and Black Panther. Having the option for him to have a fully-enclosed helmet isn't nefarious by any means. It's moreso the suspicion that this will be accompanied by the marketing in China conveniently making him the only helmeted character to not be unmasked on the posters.
  23. I never got the Sydney Sweeney hype. Like sure she's attractive but not moreso than anyone else in hollywood. Charlie Day, like Chris Pratt, would be a good voice for a ninja if it was still animated. Actually, you know what, disregard that. Here's the new cast: Glenn Howerton as Kai Charlie Day as Jay Rob McElhenny as Cole Mary Elizabeth Ellis as Nya Kaitlin Olsen as the Fire Dragon (Dragons are like birds, right?) David Hornsby as Zane Danny Devito as Wu Bryan Cranston as Garmadon Aaron Paul as Lloyd. Before the any% geneva convention speedrun in hawaii this could have worked. He's just got that creepy vibe down. Or maybe that's BECAUSE of the any% geneva convention speedrun... Whoah hold on this is new lore to me- I liked Ronin! What did they do? I know Nadakhan was trying to like arranged marriage nya or whatever but that's more PG creepiness than a Chris Hansen situation. I accept the role thrust upon me. Carson usually flies in two- (Which is the other thing- it's not necessarily someone we regard as a major character in it but someone that canonically would be flying an X-wing outside of standard operating procedure. This was Luke's go-to in legends, but I could see Ezra in one as well.)
  24. Very excited to pick this set up at heavy discount, or at the very least bricklink Sabra and Captain Falcon. (I'm sure President I-didn't-grow-a-mustache Ford won't be less than $20-25 no matter what happens to this set discount wise and I honestly just don't care about rulk that much)
  25. To be fair, I think that was more on the wider theme park, which was pretty heavily pushed, rather than specifically one novel. (Not that that's great either, but it's a different type of bad choice) But I completely agree- the Jedi games are one of the best things to come out of the disney era- I'd be so bold as to say the second best after Andor, and my personal favorite- and unlike Andor they have a variety of toyetic and family-friendly set concepts. Any of the many duels, the Purge Troopers, the Mantis itself, and the giant creatures.
