LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Forgot they were called ARF troopers, not specifically AT-RT pilots, but we got the lightning squadron guys in that battle pack with random s1/s2 clones, and then a red and white ARF in the excellent ARC, ARF, and commando droid pack. And yeah, I can see the #notmy501stbattlepack campaign now! Still a better concept than TPM and TLJ. Theres an image somewhere of the Gonk from LSWTCS with a lightsaber taped to it, and just a few different angles showing how it would wield said lightsaber. It's pretty funny, but I can't find it. Mark my words, they'll all be kashyyyk scouts. Yes, there is no confirmation of them being 501st clones, and I'd say the fact that childish landino specifically says UNKNOWN clones proves that we shouldn't believe that they're 501st until an actual reliable source says so -

We've only gotten an AT-RT set with an AT-RT driver once (I'm counting at-rt-based sets and not turbo tanks), So I wouldn't assume we'll see one. And I also think that IF these are going to be S7 clones, they'll be the ones with more screentime. (501st, 332nd, etc.) We know that there will be four clones. That is confirmed by childish landino. What we don't know is what phase/legion/etc the clones will be. We can reasonably assume they will be phase 2, but we don't even know that for sure. I think I'd personally prefer four blank p2 clones the most out of any option here, it's insane that the normal "shiny" p2 clones are more expensive than the 501st clones half the time. I'd love to get more/any 501st troopers, no one is against the concept of a 501st battle pack as far as I know, and honestly as long as they're p2 clones and at least 2 have normal p2 helmets, I'll be more than happy. What are you talking about? The geonosis troopers are clearly shown in the third battle of geonosis, where darth jar jar fights jedi bob and the army of GONK droid space pirates attacks! -
Agreed, the complaints won't be about the build, they'll be about the lack of a certain character, characters, or number of characters. I will lead an assault on the lego headquarters if Jedi Bob isn't included though.

Honestly I think besides the ARC trooper helmet for Hunter, all of them would need new designs. (assuming the second time he said hunter he meant crosshair) -

True, she could theoretically show up anywhere. And for all we know she fights separatists in the ahsoka's walkabout episodes, they seem to have significantly changed the story from what we had known before. (Love interest removed, taking 4 episodes instead of 2, etc) Good point though, we can't hold lego to intense accuracy. (not to be *that guy*, but ahsoka and Barris were in the space battle above umbara as shown in the opening footage, though never in ground combat. Your evidence is still 100% correct, she never was shown on the ground.) Oops, got it confused with CAC's recon helmets. Even then, it's still really unlikely we'd get the entire batch in one set. -

And I get there's a minor variation like some people said, but we literally have neyo with a special helmet mold and the normal troops (but 2005 mold). which shot do you refer to, I can't find it. I can find jet troopers vs droids but we don't know if that's mandalore, and I can't find this shot of mandalorian starfighters in space. Also, just logically, from what we know, it's unlikely. We KNOW from what Filoni said that Maul comes back to retake mandalore, but based on previous seasons of TCW and the comic showing how he gets there, he fights the separatists just as much as the republic. So unless it's a weird three-way siege (unlikely) , or the republic and separatists team up (impossible), they probably won't be there. Unfortunately, this is highly unlikely. First, we don't know it's a season 7 set. Second, the amount of new molds/prints required for the bad batch is alot, and the odds that lego would put the ENTIRE batch into a $30 set is really low considering how they love to spread out desirable figures a la the KOR. Edit: Ninja'd by @ARC2149Nova -
I like how this post had nothing since 2012 and all of the sudden it has a ton of comments, but I also hope he comes back to see that people are still enjoying his moc even now. I hope that magnaguard cockpit isn't expensive, I'd like to try to build this and mod the wings.

I didn't think about that, 4 figures in a $15 set isn't as bad as 4 and 2 droids in a $30 set. I think a concentration of 9-16 figures like the gamer market or people packs is still out of the question, but probably for your reasons as opposed to legal issues. The description also promised a new mando figure, which somone here found out from lego customer service was probably not true. I'm assuming it just won't show up, especially since unlike the rest of the interior it's not shown in the show. (Although it would make sense -
I've been proven wrong. I knew there were alot of sets from TROS, but didn't think of anything from TLJ.

Ah, thank you. Wasn't there something about them legally not being able to produce, say, a CMF? I would imagine something like the gamer market would be too close to comfort with that. I think almost all of these have to be based on anaxes if they're season 7 sets. There were no separatist armies in the siege of mandalore, it was maul's forces and his mandalorians vs the republic and some mandalorians. So unless Ahsoka's walkabout somehow has actual warfare, which I doubt, it seems the only set that could be based on the siege of mandalore is anakin's interceptor. That said, I don't really expect either Mace's troopers of the 212th to show up, I think we'll see shinies, 332nd, or 501st. -

I can third that. I just get a ton of lines of text. -
...but $250. I want to do a wave for the sequel films but it's tough because all their sets came out in the last 5 years, which rules out any remakes.

Cool! I hope we see Rex and at least one shiny! I agree, I REALLY want a new rex, but I don't know if he's a given. The only "given" characters we KNOW are coming are the two we know from grievous's ship and anakin+r2 from the set titled anakin's interceptor. Can someone explain to me why everyone want's mace's legion so much? He's rarely seen with it, is it just that it's a new color or something? Yeah, the sequels got a bit larger of a percentage of sets because they were the films coming out at the time. Compare that to 2008/2010, where TCW was the only stuff coming out, and that dominated it way more than the sequels due today, as you say. the logistics here are that it's a figure pack that doesn't have to worry about Hasbro, since Hasbro doesn't have an exclusive liscence to ninjago action figures. (because they don't exist). With star wars, they can't go in and give us a ton of clones, or hasbro will try to sue them or something. Even then, lego doesn't seem to count battle droids as full minifigures. -
Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Same here. It's partially because there are some very large pieces used in both sets, partially because they're based off the same type of helicopter, as @Guyon2002 says. Lego isn't just being lazy here, they're trying to best represent the helicopter and they already have some parts and techniques that work, but it's far from a carbon copy. Had this been something different it would likely have been some orange and blue stupid-lloking taskmaster helicopter and we'd all be complaining that it's another random garbage vehicle. If someone makes a post saying "oh look lego deadpool leaked", I WILL go insane. Use your brains people. -
I imagine the neb-b was close, if only because I think about 3 people voted for the bomber. The vote really seemed to go Neb-b vs gunship pretty early on.

The problem is useful builds usually don't end up having appeal to kids as they tend to be random rubble, and kids don't care about how canonical something is. The problem lies in finding the balance, as it always does, but since it's a wishlist after all I thought I could skew more towards stuff I'd actually want. Nice! The remake of the 2002 geonosian set and coruscant speeder chase especially sound great. I do wonder how they could make a republic dropship with at-at $30 cheaper than the dropship with at-ot that released in 2008, though.

Exactly. A 501st pack would be a great set, but some of the people asking were acting like they were entitled to one, and demanding lego make one, instead of something like "lego, alot of people want a 501st pack, it'd be pretty cool if you made one", some, by no means a large amount of the people who wanted it, but some people were acting like how dare lego not have already made a 501st pack, and have now ruined it for the majority of the people as lego can no longer make the pack or it will appear that they have given in to the demanding fans, who will find some way to complain, and then start demanding lego produce a UCS venator, or a 212th pack, or whatever. I don't know, with how expensive 501st troops are now, it'd be nice (but like 0.1% likelyhood) if they just threw in a 332nd helmet WITH the 501st clone. Personally I think this set will have, just from speculation: some combination of 1-2 clones (332nd, "shiny", 501st), rex, and/or ahsoka, totaling 3 figures, along with a b1. I think the OP believed the argument to be hypocritical, but the difference is that there was an aggresive and demanding campaign for the battle pack. I doubt many people would legitimatelty be upset if said pack was released. -

I agree to an extent. I'd rather get the blank p2 troops, or a mix of troop types, though that's unlikely. I don't want a large number of 332nd as much as they're just a more situational 501st. However, we know where anakin and obi-wan are, in anakin's interceptor (we don't have any specific leak but I mean c'mon, his name is in the set), and the soulless one. If there's only one clone, ahsoka would hopefully be the jedi figure. I didn't know too much about this guy but if he actually does that, that's really unfortunate. I think the guy you qouted was also being sarcastic, but yeah. How dare a company exist with the goal of making money instead of giving everyone free 501st battle packs. -

Mandalorianknight replied to Graupensuppe's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think this is my favorite of your builds so far. it addresses the scaling problem, and it looks quite nice. Also, as @deraven says, nice Kaminoan! Probably the best that can be done without a new head mold. -
I completely forgot about her! I was struggling to add figures besides random jedi and order 66 characters (younglings, bail, and 501st are all remembered for order 66 if you only count when they're at the temple.), and Jocasta's a perfect choice. And yeah, there haven't been RO sets since march 2017. HOPEFULLY lego starts to make more, now that there won't be another film until late 2022. With the cassian show they're bound to make SOMETHING RO-related.

I can totally see this happening. This folds in literally every aspect of the lego community. Except you'd have to get the little kids in on it too or the boycott wouldn't work. We aren't exactly the main consumer base of these sets. -

I think this is pretty likely, especially since lego doesn't seem to count b1s as full figures (but they count r2, this is discrimination against the separatist alliance!), so we could get what you and @Kit Figsto have suggested. Though I doubt the sequels were the reason small sets had lower fig counts, I'm not sure that they're that maniacal. -
I would buy this entire wave, to be honest. (Hammerhead corvettes weren't flown by a squadron of pilots a la biggs or luke, they are similar in size to the tantive IV from a new hope. Hope this helps) I'll try one out for Revenge of the sith, seeing as we've done the original trilogy already. Clone Legions battle pack: 1x 501st trooper, 1x 212th trooper, 1x 41st trooper, 1x coruscant guard (shocktrooper). Build is a correctly sized at-rt and a small defense. $14.99' Separatist forces battle pack: 4x b1 battle droid, 2x b2 super battle droid. Build is 2x droidikas and a crab droid. $14.99 Droid tri-fighter: Tri-fighter with 2 b1s, 2 buzz droids, and a "shiny" clone (plain white armor, no markings). $29.99 Boga chase: brick-build Boga and grievous's wheel bike. Grievous, Obi-wan, Cody, and a b2 droid. $39.99 Dual on the Invisible Hand: similar to final dual but a bit smaller. it's got the overlook area with the staircases on either side and the area with palpatine's chair. Minifigures are Anakin, Obi-wan, palpatine, a magnaguard, and dooku. $49.99 Arc-170 starfighter. Arc-170 build. Includes 3 clone pilots, an astromech, Mace Windu, and 2 b1 droids. $79.99 Battle of Kashyyyk: A large tree build, a barricade like in the 20th set, an ornithopter, and a snail droid. Minifigures are Yoda, Gree, a 41st scout, a kashyyyk trooper, 2 wookies, 2 b1s, and 2 b2s. $89.99 At-ut: AT-UT tank with a small terrain side build. Comes with Ki-Adi Mundi, 2 galactic marines, Bacara, 2 at-te drivers, 2 b1s, and 2 droidika builds. $119.99 The Jedi Temple (UCS): Large jedi temple build with multiple interior rooms including the council meeting room, room where anakin and yoda talk, hallway, sparring room, archives, and ahsoka's trial room from TCW. Figures are Yoda, Mace Windu, Kit fisto, plo Koon, adi gallia, luminari undulia, sasee tin, agan Kolar, Anakin, Obi-wan, 2 temple guards, 2 courscant guard troopers, sidious, and 2 b1 droids. $399.99 (There are no 501st or younglings include to avoid any implications of order 66 and the murder of the younglings, which is also why sideous and the b1s are included)

An. Army. Of. Ki-adi. Mundis. Is. THE. ONLY. WAY. to. make. sure. the. council. knows. about. the. droid. attack. on. the. wookies. I agree (on both sentiments). The main thing here is just because the A-wing is likely doesn't mean the big 501st battle pack is true, especially since it's coming from someone who's been very.....vocal about wanting said 501st pack from lego.
