LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
100% going to be the ETA-2. No way they'd remake a set within 2 years for $10 more. This is probably a remake of the 2014 set, hopefully with more figures then just anakin and r2. -

It sounds like you'll be one of the few AFOLS happy this april . As @Guyon2002 says, boba fett and a stormtrooper. (I don't know what type of stormtrooper, though.) The rest of april is a D-0 sculpture similar to yoda or bb-8, and an unknown system-scale set. -

But still, $25 to $40 in 5 years? I think that's too far, even for them. I wouldn't hold out for any new figures besides the knights and maybe space chimp, we might end up seeing a Poe or Rey instead. YES! This wave is honestly shaping up to be one of the best waves in awhile. So this is likely what @jdubbs was referring too, but he did say "At least" one. I could unfortunately see this one going for the full $30 now, but hopefully it's got more figures than anakin and a droid or something. -
The businessman from jurassic world? The one in the 2015 helicopter and pterodactyl set. Facial hair isn't perfect and the expressions might not be what you're looking for, but the only expression we have for him in the show is "looking like he's about to die", so...

I agree, it's a bit small and too tall proportionally. I think, however, we'll get a larger one this year. This is a $40 set, with the last one being $25 and four years ago. With inflation applied, that's still under $30. (but terrifying to think that inflation in the US moves that fast). Lego probably wouldn't charge 25% more for something in 2020 then (inflation applied) they would in 2015.) So I'd assume either we're getting some other stuff with it, or a larger vehicle. I could see it going either way, but if it is the latter, hopefully they do fix this, and give us a more correctly proportioned aat. Also, in regards to the people who've been complaining about the leakers not revealing everything, they can't. they're already letting us know what we do and potentially putting their jobs at risk, they should be able to decide what they can and can't reveal. And if you'd "rather be surprised when the sets are officially revealed", just don't read the forum. -

i agree, the 2009 version was too big. IMO the 2015 one's TPM colour sceme is vastly inferior to the CIS color scheme, so this is the best of both previous versions for me. I didn't realize you could pre-order them! I assume if you weren't refunded, your preorder still is in the system, but I'd call if you were worried. -

I went back to look at the post and he never does say april, just that "at least one of your predictions" outside the ATT is correct. Not trying to prove anyone wrong, just trying to make sure we aren't mixing up what @jdubbs said. Exogol totally could be that last april set, but jdubb's words aren't a confirmation Exogol could totally be what he was referring too, but so could the interceptor, or the tri-fighter, etc, seeing as he wouldn't have known you meant the tri-fighter as a goof until now. (Though I will concede the interceptor is much more likely, especially seeing as this summer wave currently has 1 CIS ship to 0 GAR ships, and the 4 sets we know are all darkside vehicles. @Kit Figsto good question, if they're able to answer it without jepordizing anything it could give us some insight as to what's happening with those sets, i.e. fi they're retail exclusives, retooled mando sets like jdubbs speculated, etc. -

Guys I meant for the prediction of his that was correct, like @jdubbs said. Of course the interceptor or tri fighter wouldn't be $70, but @ARC2149Nova mentions them in his wishlists, and all we know is that one upcoming set will be one of the things he wishlisted. I wasn't saying that an eta-2 would be the april set, but that it could be what jdubbs was referring too. Sorry for any confusion -

It could also be the interceptor, tri-fighter, or even the much more unlikely mandalorian starfighter. Personally, I doubt a duel on exogol would be coming in april, it just seems a bit spoilery for something coming so soon after, and we know how long out they plan these, but it's always possible. -

I'm trying to get a clone wars collection going without breaking the bank (Right now it consists of about 10 clones from all different phases/legions and about twice that in b1s, with no vehicles.) All the main desirable ships (gunship, at-te, even stuff like the AV-7) is pretty expensive. If anyone has rex's AT-TE, Do you know what the cost would be to mod it into a normal republic one? It seems to just be removing some plates and swapping out a leg, but I don't have the set. -
A selection of starfighters, A-Z

I like the way you used full bricks to build the wings, and that razorcrest-looking gunship is really well-done! -
Hey, no reason to apologize for making such an epic army. I'll certainly be buying some of those torsos from europe, though, your designs are just too cool not to have.

I'll be honest, I don't know what they're going for here either. The helmets are at a pretty high price point for what is assumably a test to see if there's enough demand. I assume the sculptures sell well or they'd stop making them, but unless that last set in the wave is something pretty bright I might just skip it for what's shaping up to be an exceptional summer wave. It's been awhile, and even if you happen to have santa vader it's nice to know we're returning to new prints for christmas characters. -

no, it makes sense now. I like @jdubbs idea, though he makes sure to let us know it's just an idea and not related to his information/sources/etc, that they could be mando sets, but if not a headhunter would be nice. -
You're right about the AAT being $40, at least. And with some new sets, maybe there's more hope for more mandalore.
-
This the the most incredible purist lego army I've ever seen. There's no doubt it was insanely expensive to get just the helmets alone, but you use the parts REALLY well. The kama covering the more holiday-ish parts of the torso, for instance. Side note though, there are now only 2 of the holiday fett torsos for sale on bricklink in north america .

[Review] #75269 Duel on Mustafar

I don't know about that, I feel like this set is more of an exception. If you rewatch ROTS you can see what they were trying to do with the lava, but yeah they did fail pretty badly. -

I'm sorry that I seem to have upset you, I said a few times a vocal MINORITY of fans, I wasn't saying you were one of them, you've actually been pretty positive about this wave, and I agree the majority of gunship voters did so because they wanted the ship, not because MandR told them too. However, I wouldn't say the OT fans are "greedy", or part of a "conspiracy" to dimish your victory. (nor do most strike me as toxic, besides the ones that hate anything disney puts out). I'd encourage you not to judge the OT by a few fans, but rather the films. (otherwise I think no one could enjoy any of star wars, at this point ) Glad to see you're happy about this wave! i wouldn't hold out hope for a headhunter, the last one was substantially over $30 and it's been a few years since then. I think it's more likely we'll get an interceptor like you predicted, to go against the belbullab but still be at the $30 price point. Agreed about the mando and child brickheadz, they look great. (and until boba fett's wide-release brickheadz came out, the only one I had was captain america too!) -

Hopefully the AAT has a bit more too it, the last one was only $25, right? I don't think it does, it's only $20. Yeah, I think we had images of the avengers endgame sets about this time of year, and you'd think that'd have more secrecy around it than a couple of helmets and d-0. -

I wouldn't say it's sellers showcasing greed. That's how much the mandalorian goes for online, it's supply and demand. You aren't being forced to buy it. Thank you. It worries me that people have decided that, somehow, a vehicle that will be in a few episodes of the clone wars is more iconic and a better idea than a set with more screentime than ESB slave one from the final film in the saga. This right here, this is exactly what's happening. People literally just got to vote for a UCS set and after the gunship won, they've moved on to complaining, somehow, that we're *only* getting 4 TCW sets. Some people will complain no matter what. I think this wave sounds good. An at-at is a desirable vehicle that's been retired for awhile, the night buzzard is a cool looking ship that will likely have some great figures, and we're getting 4 TCW sets. 4!!! The wave's got something for everyone. I can understand being disappointed that we're not getting larger TCW sets, but there's a difference between "i wish we got some bigger sets for TCW" and the entitlement of "LEGO NEEDS TO GIVE US MORE BIGGER TCW SETS WITH BAD BATCH AND EVERY CLONE EVER BECAUSE WE, THE VOCAL MINORITY, SAY SO!" I'm not saying that that many people are saying that, hence "vocal minority", but there do seem to be some people. -

It's a lego marvel community thread. You wouldn't spoil a new star wars film/game in the star wars thread, would you? And while the sets contain something, as others have said there's no indication will be in ANY sets, in fact based on our descriptions it's rather unlikely. Just use a spoiler tag, it's not that hard. -

Yes! that's IMO the best AAT color scheme, and the small size will make my wallet happy. Also now I feel less stupid for bricklinking the white grievous. I'm also trying to begin a clone wars/separtist crisis era collection, so a few small, artiliary type sets is good for me. Could another eta-2 be next? That was one of yours, right? (also please ask for a UCS gonk droid in the wishlist thread so we can get that.) -

My reasoning for ahsoka and maul is that they're the main hero and vilian of the season. Bo-katan and 332nd are more unlikely, hence while I would like them, my main hope is that we at least get the main protagonist and antagonist. YES!!!! I love the ship design. I liked Albrekh in TROS, he was just there, a space chimp repairing kylo's helmet, with absolutely no explanation. I too think he deserves a figure, but I don't think it'll happen this soon. I might be wrong, but could one of these (probably not the at-at) be the last april set? Otherwise I agree, no AT-TE, LAAT- or ARC-170. They did say there were some prequel/TCW bright spots, so maybe there's some nice small sets. An artillary unit with some nice figures, for instance, or something like the 2013 BARC set.
