LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I know, I was just saying that the rest of the scenario happening there is plausible. That design's from a plush of the lego stormtrooper in a light blue ugly sweater that's been around for over a year now, so I doubt it. What annoys me is that the ship could, like the lambda shuttle, be able to fit at least 4 figures in the back area. Plus, there's a turret on the back (which hasn't been in set images yet but I can't imagine they'd leave it off), which should seat 1. I'll still get it even if just to display it with the figures on a plaque or something, and I still think it's a cool set overall, but it'll still be disappointing if it can't fit figures in it. -

Same here. The shuttle build is super accurate and it'll be nice to have 5 of the 6 main characters in one set. I really liked the opening episode and am definitely purchasing the shuttle very soon. I do hope we get another set soon, as they're missing Hopefully this is like clone wars s7 and mando where show popularity leads to more sets. -

Omega could probably use the mid legs IMO, she seems like a young teen, and the harry potter kids have midi legs as early as 12-13. Hoping for 1x2 printed tiles, and with Paz confirmed, this is going to be an amazing set. I just want to add that my thing was completely based on just the set (Which personally I think is pretty clear proof by itself, just by-spoiler tag since it talks about the speculation- . another piece of merch, and the trailers, so your alternate theory could totally be true. I do apologize if you feel like having that spelled out is a spoiler, I thought it was clear from the boxart so I didn't think it'd be considered a spoiler. Yup. I do wish they had done this, made the shuttle it's own set with the OG 5 and Omega, and then doing a speeder chase with the speeders, plainclothes hunter, an elite trooper and the unknown other character that happens to be in the shuttle. :/Insert thor "YES" gif here./: That chima armor piece is underrated, but I doubt they still have the mold. most likely it's wrecker's, makes more sense that they made it for wrecker now that we know there are other armored heavies on the way in the form of Paz. (and if the dark troopers are minifigs, they could use it too) -

I completely agree, the box art clearly shows the "spoiler" I disagree that this constitutes a spoiler, but you're the mod, I'll use spoiler tags. Just out of curiosity, at what point would this be no longer considered a spoiler? We were able to talk about the child once his sets were leaked, so in the instance that are we able to talk about it then? Personally I feel that the box art (just looking at the set images, but just in case) , but even if that's not the case, surely the thing in the first spoiler tag would enable us to talk about it? no way she isn't, I'm just hoping for a new mold or even printed horns, she would NOT work with saxon's horns. most likely a stormtrooper or death trooper, but I'll say for Paz Vizla as a wild hope. Honestly we might not even get mando, just the armorer and two troopers, maybe with a set looking something like this: -

i mean, this entire thread is discussing building set leaks, so I don't think it's a huge jump to make. (and the spoiler isn't like a hidden detail or something, it's literally the name of the figure) I haven't seen any plot leaks (at least any dealing with this plot point), but from the lego set alone they don't exactly seem like they're really trying to hide this all that much. -

Crosshair is the power broker confirmed. Same here, I cannot wait to buy this. I've got gift cards I've been saving anyway, and this seems like as good a time as any to use it. Is it even still a spoiler if official merchandise like the black series figure outright confirms it? It's a set discussion forum, we're discussing a set that has all of the bad batch except crosshair, as well as an imperial character with what looks like crosshair's helmet. They aren't really hiding it. -

It might be to "avoid spoilers", as lucasfilm doesn't seem to realize that everyone already knows about crosshair. (which would make this the third disney+ show this year where they make a super obvious twist and act like it's a huge reveal). Expect him to just be named "elite corps trooper" or something on the packaging. These new images have me sold on the shuttle, I might get it even if the interior is lackluster. The figures are incredible and the new angles make the shuttle itself look much better. -

For the sake of the argument, you're welcome. Yeah, I'm guessing it'll be a loyalist fighter and not a troop transport like the gauntlet. The only way leaks have led to official reveals, if I'm not mistaken, has been when lego officially unveils the leaked sets in "response" to the leak. I don't believe this'll impact the timetables of the SW leaks. That said, I think the shuttle will be unveiled by Tuesday. Bad Batch premiers soon, and the official images apparently already exist, if the leak actually did come from an R2-D2 press reveal mix-up or whatever it was. I doubt we'll see the other sets until they leak around june. -

Which Mandalorian fighter is it? I'm assuming Clone Wars, but is it Maul's gauntlet, death watch, loyalist mandalore, or a generic mauldalorian fighter? (I love the new pfp by the way) I don't know if they could make the lander at a $30 price point, unfortunately. I'm glad you saw my lander design, though! Pretty much any location set, for one. If i had to put money on it being something, it'd be one of those, as the $25-30 location set is pretty much a line staple at this point. (death star escape, yoda's hut, obi-wan's hut, etc) -

I believe the reports actually turned out to be more aligned with the "huttslayer" rebranding theory. A new idea: Speculative bad batch wave based on trailers. This is done in the way I've been doing my other waves, I don't actually expect lego to make a full bad batch wave (I wish). They're formatted as follows: SET TITLE ($XX.XX): DESCRIPTION AND FIGURES -REASONING/SPECULATION. As with any speculation, there could be minor plot spoilers if this stuff turns out to be true. This is also made as if the havoc marauder set doesn't exist, because it's integral to any bad batch wave. -

wait it actually megablocking does? That's incredible! Honestly if the colors are correct, then the only problems with the set I have are the inclusion of the BARC and whether or not it can fit the whole crew. -

They're named after the songs that play during those scenes. I really don't get why lego hasn't done a "celebration" set yet, it's one of the most iconic scenes in the franchise. yeah, I should have had it in the TROS wave. Can't wait for your list! I see so many people saying this. I was lucky enough to find one for only $100 (but not Zeb ), but so many missed out on the original set. With Rebels having it's own clone wars-esque wave of adult fans after the show ended, I think it would be a great idea for lego to make a $200-300 18+ ghost with phantom and include the full crew, it'd sell like hotcakes. -

Maybe not today, but it at the very least means that they're close enough to finishing it that they're ready to restart the marketing. for VIPs, yes. I don't believe we know yet if that slot is being taken up by the gunship or AT-AT, though my money's on the AT-AT being the normal 2hy with the gunship dropping a different time as an exclusive. -

Good to know the name of the lander. Totally forgot about Ochi's ship, I'd probably replace the whisperer with it on my list. One list for the whole skywalker saga to finish it off. This one's a bit larger. -

....your argument is that the SDCC sets being released to a whole country instead of just SDCC is because you could go to SDCC...in the country...to buy the set. The SDCC that you have to pay for tickets for, not to mention the airline tickets of traveling to California, as well as hotel costs for staying there? So you'd end up spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars for a chance (because it's usually done as a raffle) to purchase the set? And that lego releasing them to all the US was worse? I really don't track the logic here. Most of the sets likely in the US (and like you said, likely made in mexico...which borders the US...) by the time SDCC canceled anyway, so yes, the argument that it doesn't make economic sense to send the incredibly limited copies of the set to the borders of the earth definitely still counts. If two of the biggest missteps are a figure with damaged robes and a debatably packaged part (The KoR ship not being able to fit all the knights isn't great but you can't really fault them if you bought all the knights, they aren't forcing you too), the year doesn't sound so bad. 2014 wasn't exempt from inaccuracy, I have 212th helmets printed backwards as proof of that. And yes, there were no prequel sets for...a single wave of system sets. Shocking. We're getting plurality prequel sets for the second half of the year, I don't think prequel fans will have "nothing to buy for the entire year". And Doddanna was definitely long awaiting, he was constantly on most-wanted figure lists on this site, many people said they wanted him. Yeah most kids don't know him, I don't remotely understand the point there either, his inclusion isn't making the set (specifically the cheaper x-wing set that came after people complained the previous ones were too expensive for kids to afford) worse. -

Even then, the disney era films each had a few sets a couple months after the release, then the sharp cutoff. That one's from TLJ, and he was talking about TFA, but you're right, that's probably one of the worst they've had. I also agree it's not lego's fault or disney's fault; it's just how movie production works. (although off the top of my head the only other example i remember is ant-man's helmet, which is another disney property, but the wider point stands.) The only-usa promos were SDCC sets that weren't going to be released outside of SDCC in a normal year. 2020 is actually BETTER than most years in the regard that instead of a single building, it was at least available for a whole country. In addition, while there were missteps like the overpricing of the grievous set, there were also amazing sets like the RC, 501st battlepack, AAT, etc. No idea what you mean by no prequel sets this year, I know off the top of my head that at least 4 prequel era sets are releasing this year. I'd argue the new cheaper starfighters are good because fans were complaining they had gotten to expensive, and they were easier for children to afford because the sets are made for children, just like they were in 2014. We also got long-awaited figures like Dodanna and Beskar Mando, with more releasing later like Bo-katan, Saxon, Fennec, Gideon, Mandalore Maul, the list goes on. I mean, he said only normal sets, so I assume he didn't count promos. And I seem to remember the 501st battlepack being very well-liked by fans, including you when it first was announced. -

Unless the cockpit is printed and not a sticker... Honestly I'd have to say it would have been better as all parts in either color, not a mix. If the parts exist in sand blue, I might change it over to that. Regarding the best waves discussion: I think the whole 2007-2016 time period was great for LSW. If I had to pick a specific year, 2016's rogue one sets were amazing and the earlier waves that year weren't half bad either. Likewise, 2008 was another banner year for the franchise. I think 2020 and early 2021 have given a lot of hope for the return of the "golden age". We got a good mix of all the eras, some amazing designs like the Razor Crest, and so many fan requests were/are being met. (501st battle pack, cheaper x-wing and tie fighter, UCS gunship, more prequel sets, etc). It's not like lucasfilm didn't take merchandising fees. What happened around this time was that sets started using larger numbers of smaller pieces instead of smaller numbers of large plates, which changed the price. Second, literally all vehicles in the first TFA wave appeared in the film. The first order snowspeeder was only seen in the background, or you might be referring to inaccuracies in the shuttle design, but "a lot of vehicles that didn't make the cut" is a massive exaggeration. As for never revisiting films, that's more so due to just the amount of content coming out, and it's still not really true. (TFA in particular has been getting sets years past it's release) The problem is, when a new film was releasing every year, and now there'll be multiple shows a year, it's tough to make sets for everything, so lego chooses to make sets based off the most famous (and best selling) vehicles and locations from the older films rather than immediately revisist a film that just released. There were large gaps after the prequels released between their sets, too. It's easy to just attribute everything people don't like to disney, and while you can believe me that I hate that corporation (for reasons that don't belong in a LSW forum), they aren't responsible for every bad thing to ever happen to star wars. -

I don't think so. 2020 was a one-time thing, since they already had the sets produced when SDCC got canceled. For this one, I think that they'd have been smart enough to wait before producing them, especially since SDCC 2021 was confirmed to be not happening SUPER early on. Combine this with how far back it's been rumored (from what I remember SDCC sets don't really get leaked, again with 2020 as an exception due to retail sales of them), and I think it's pretty unlikely that it's an SDCC set. This reminds me of last year. Speculation that certain sets were cancelled, all doom and gloom, and then the reliable sources come along and clarify there's actually MORE sets possibly coming. -

Lego cancelling a $160 set because it has a (most likely repeat) figure of a character played by an actress that was "canceled" would really make me angry, but given the jabba's palace and slave leia "controversies", I wouldn't put it past them. I still do think it's more likely to be the one that we don't know the contents of, or the vader's meditation chamber, though. -

This. 100% agree. If it can fit figures, it'll end up doing it's job. I'm just hoping that the cockpit area will look a bit better in the official images or in real life. I've been theorizing for weeks it'll be revealed around may 4th as a tie in with the premiere. No way that -

I am worried about this. It's hard to see, but it doesn't look like that main section has an openable interior, and the cockpit can't fit more than 2 figures. Yeah, the speeders are really making me wonder here. I could see the lime one being included, but I don't get any rational behind adding the imperial one too. True, it's great to have the entire batch in a single set. -

The sand blue isn't too bad IMO but that cockpit is rough...probably because they decided to include 300 pcs worth of speeders so the shuttle has to be smaller. I'm still not 100% sure this is real, it looks to me like someone went on stud.io and just made a render based on all the info that was leaked, using the part designer feature for decals. If it is real, I probably won't get it, even if Wrecker, Tech, Hunter, and Echo look great (at least from what I can see, plus wrecker's got his body armor) -

Same. I personally won't get it, since I'm trying to save money and am already planning on getting the troop transport, BB shuttle, and maybe the arquitens (depends on the figures), but it looks great. Much better than the already-good 2012 set, and the lightsaber feature is nice, even if the saber itself is lackluster.
