LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is more or less what I'm thinking, with either a couple snowtroopers added or the second driver removed, depending on the scale. Maybe one of the snowtroopers can have a veerswatch face print, since he canonically served on the same AT-AT and saved Veer's life. This is so unrealistic.... you forgot the entire 501st legion, every named clone, and a handwritten apology from lego for not putting p2 cody in the gunship. Hopefully people don't get too unrealistic but you KNOW someone's gonna ask for mustache rebel or an entire snowtrooper complement. Minifig Scale: Veers, two drivers, a snowtrooper or two. Not Minifig Scale: Pilot, and either veers or a snowtrooper. -

That's pretty cool, as extra parts go that's a good one to have. -

Holy cow man, that's beautiful! You perfectly captured that part of zeffo. The buildings, the enemies, the little bridge you can force-push later. You just got another subscriber! -
Star Wars TIE Fighter collection MOC
Mandalorianknight replied to Mandalorianknight's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That's a nice collection of your own! I like the interceptor design, especially the sort of landing gear he's got on the lower wings. (Though I still can't stand how the grey is added at the edges of the panels, lego using it for most TIEs is why I made my MOCs ) I've got my collection pic later in this post, I think they work out pretty nice in terms of scale, but some sources have the bomber at the same width and length as the advanced (which seems totally wrong), so I'm not completely sure. None of the images I have found have those dots, but that's definately a studio model, which is about as canon as you can get. Thank you for finding that! I'll update this post soon with the engines added. Alright, the landing craft is next on the docket. I'm thinking I'll do a TIE droid, too, just to make a render in the style of the original TIE collection set. Thank you! Alright, the bomber is completed. Certainly a chonky boi, I was worried it wouldn't be able to hold it's own weight, but it seems to do that just fine. I think it turned out very well, but the gear is kind of tough to turn, so I'll do a bit work on that. My TIE collection (I need to install some lights). I wanted to wait to build the advanced until someone found the engines, so the system TIE advanced from rebels is standing in. I've also got a couple questions: A friend of mine requested I make the clone wars shuttle (the Nu class, the one that's got the modular on the bottom). Would you prefer I do the Nu shuttle, or the bomber variations first? If I fix up the bomber gear function/maybe include a stand for the interceptor, would you guys want instructions to be available? If so, and I feel weird about asking this, but should they be free or would you consider buying them? Frankly I'm not sure these look good enough to sell, but this is a somewhat expensive hobby and I'm not exactly rolling in cash, so selling instructions could be super helpful in that respect. You three would get free instructions anyway if I make them. (I think I was gonna send Macron the part file for the interceptor awhile back and then I lost it) -

I thought it was a store exclusive already? If it's not, it makes more sense to me that people thought it got cancelled. Was the site down for everyone, or did I just have bad wifi? -

This is 100% not just you, I want to clarify that, but guys, why the hell do you think the forge was cancelled? We've known it's not part of a main wave for forever and we've already seen the leaked images of the set. AFAIK we've never seen leaked box images of a star wars set that was later cancelled (the closest being prelims of the final constraction sets that were very clearly unfinished.) -

The superhero franchises have and will always be different from star wars in terms of SDCC releases. I'm pretty sure you're right that it's set for september. I think it's meant for wide-release but based off the success of bespin duel (in which case they got the point completely wrong, it's more expensive and not as iconic of a scene). -

Star Wars TIE Fighter collection MOC
Mandalorianknight replied to Mandalorianknight's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thank you so much! TIE Bomber: If you're talking about the engines, the curved bricks are supposed to be there. This fixes a mistake on my original model where I just used dishes. TIE advanced: the engines are definately somewhere around there, but no images or art I've seen has them. If you know where they are, please let me know, I should put up missing posters! The TIE shuttle is a genius idea! I always thought it was just a TIE bomber with a different interior, but looking at the EC henry video, the wings are flipped and the hull is bulkier. Plus, it technically appears in the OT films, so now I've got to make it so my earlier post can be accurate. I'll definately give it a shot, thanks for the suggestion! -
Reviving this thread to show off some mandalorian updated figures and purist customs. My apologies for the dog hair pervading each image. Mando Collection: Updated Figs/purist custom named mandalorains: Djin Djarren (episode 1), Boba Fett (BoBf), Bo-katan (mandalorian), The Armorer, Sabine Wren (season 1), Unnamed purist custom Mandalorians: Mandalorian War Suit, Mauldalorian, Death Watch soldier, Gunmetal Mandalorian, Purple Mandalorian, Mandalorian bounty hunter. When organizing my mandos, I noticed I had six major mandalorian types: 5 each from the battle packs, 7 blue death watch, and 7 sets of christmas jango torsos with mauldalorain heads (a cheap bricklink order). So I made six clans, with coloration and "backstories" inspired by another memorable franchise with six distinct tribes. The colored medium blasters are official lego molds, just prototype ones. Clan Talok: Clan Galara: Clan Lekari Clan Pohachi: Clan Konaro: Clan Onari:

Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
My completely subjective thoughts: Loki's homicidal GF and god-king Croki: 8/10. The figure looks great, and the lack of leg printing isn't that bad either. It is maddening that croki doesn't have his crown, though. for only $5 I might pick her up, as I loved loki. Star Panther: 7/10. The figure itself is pretty good, but just comes off as star lord with a purple jacket and T'challa's face underneath. Maybe after what if I'll get the appeal. Administrative Consultant Loki and lepin throg: 6/10. I mean, sure, the printing is good quality, it's a CMF. But he wears that jacket for, like, one episode. They really should have gone with the white shirt, maybe with a dagger scabbard at the back, and given him a dagger instead of a mug. Throg honestly doesn't look like lego to me. Captain Tea: 9/10. Peggy looks amazing! The printing and new hair are great, and I think her tesseract is the best so far in terms of size, shape, and color. I might get her. SWORD agent that should have arrested Wanda: 5/10. There were so many other, better options. Only had two loki figs, only two TFATWS figs, but sure, wandavision gets another fig, and not agatha or normal vision but Monica? The figure is aesthetically boring, the accessory isn't interesting, and monica herself wasn't a character I enjoyed in the show. And in The Marvels, she'll hopefully have a superhero costume, so this fig holds no value to me. Requiem: 7/10. As with T'challa panther, the figure is well-made, but I don't really care about Gamora in Thanos's armor. Again, maybe I'll see it after what if. Why is the monster hunters line back: 8/10. The only villain in the CMF, and very well-made. Might pick him up for a battle damaged cap purist custom or something. Spider Slayer: 9/10. Definately an amazing spider-man figure, I'll be picking it up 100% to use the parts for a purist custom Andrew Garfield Spidey. Captain Barnes: 9/10. Incredible design, and the only other figure I'm certain I'll get. Bucky's one of my favorite characters, and this just makes me sad he never got to be captain. I was really hoping that TFATWS would end in a "team cap" being made, where Sam, Bucky, John, and Sharon all worked together, but anyway... Uncle Sam Wilson: 7/10. The printing is good, but I don't like the hair, and while I get that the CMF restricts part count, I MUCH prefer brick-built wings. I'm also not a big fan of Falcon Cap Definately A Criminal Wanda: 7/10. Printing is good, but the face is bad, and the headpiece is poor quality. I guess you could call this the second villain of the CMF. Apple bought Vision? 6/10: too much grey, weird amounts of gold, vision needed to be monochrome. Plus his accessory makes no sense. -

Aaaah, the unhelmeted one reminds me just what weird CGI abominations the prequel film clones were. Seriously George, you couldn't be bothered to make a SINGLE real clone armor costume? Did they really all have to be pure CG? Anyway, you're right, the yellow does look a bit lighter there than on the lego figure. I'm guessing it's meant to represent the darker-colored commander Ponds then. AFAIK the only 2021 sets we haven't seen yet are the AT-AT and a possibly 75369, right? -
2018's set 75211 Imperial TIE fighter is the best official, system scale TIE lego has ever released. Unfortunately, lego never ended up releasing other TIE variants, like the TIE advanced, in that same style. Or an interceptor since 2005. Or a bomber since 2003. So I've attempted to make my own. About 10 months ago, I made a TIE interceptor and TIE bomber moc in that same style. The interceptor was serviceable and I ended up buying the parts and displaying it alongside my 75211, the bomber was admittedly pretty weak. So I fixed it up and added in a TIE advanced moc to complete the four TIEs seen in the original films. Note that these aren't meant to be Jerac-level mocs that are so impressive they're barely like legos, they're meant to be fighters you could display alongside the official TIE fighter sets. These are all meant to be the same style as 75211, so here's a (somewhat low quality) photoshop of them all together. BOMBER: My original bomber was, looking back, a pretty bad build. It was disproportionate, unstable, and somewhat inaccurate. This model fixes those issues while keeping the bomb-drop function, which I think is integral to any bomber moc. Turning the gear on top of the bomb bay will open the bay door on the bottom of the hull and release bombs (it can fit various bomb builds, from bionicle zamor spheres to the rocket-like ones used by the republic frigate set). I've ordered the parts and I'll update this post with a physical image once built. ADVANCED: One thing I noticed when looking at images of the back of this ship; where are the engines? Seriously, I cannot find anything resembling an engine here. Anyway, the ship's got similar wings to the bomber, and the shape of the area behind the cockpit was interesting to build. The cockpit itself is similar to 75211, but altered slightly to fit vader's larger helmet. INTERCEPTOR: Unfortunately I lost the stud.io file to the interceptor, so I wasn't able to go in and remove the spring shooters like I did for my physical model. It's the same basic principle I used for 75211, all you need to do is replace the 1x4 spring shooter bricks with 1x1 headlight bricks with 1x1 LBG plates and 1x1 trans red studs attached to the side. Note that while Stud.io doesn't seem to think the wingtips work, the physical model works fine and doesn't seem to put any undue stress on the brick. Let me know what you think of these mocs, and please give suggestions as to which TIEs I should make next in this style.

People are finding any excuse to not buy a set they voted for IG. Maybe I'm being too cynical and it's just the standard "complain about everything lego does". Honestly neither are that bad to me. Ponds is the perfect color, and the 212th troopers, while not orange enough to be movie 212th troopers, fit the more yellowy colors of the clones in the show. Yeah, any figures here would get them criticized. If they're subpar or re-uses, they're, well...subpar or re-uses. If they're exclusive or new, it's spun as lego being "greedy" (if you buy a $350 set because of two figs, it's not the company's fault IMO) -

And if you buy more, it's easy to swap heads out. I've got a couple of em rocking the angry clone head. They're also very cheap, very massable, and easy to swap out the arms and legs to make them look completely different. Between them and the mando packs, my collection went from boba, sabine, and the white one from the book to nearly 40 mandos organized into 6 clans. (classic blue, classic red, classic green, dark orange, grey/orange, and azure) just got a sealed celebration exclusive tatooine microbuild (another one I'm planning to flip). I'm hoping to get enough money from this to buy parts for a TIE advanced moc I'm working on so I can finish the main OT tie collection. -

Impressive! Gives me almost two-face vibes, I like that you've made the damage on the interceptor side apparent and created your own u-wing design, instead of just slapping an interceptor wing on 75155. -

Recruitment officer is a good choice for low-ranked imperials, they're pretty cheap and have that classic officer look. I mainly got the lots to restock my bricklink store, but I'm keeping a few myself. Mainly an Anakin (from 2018 interceptor), as my current one has a cracked torso, and a death watch mando, because you can never have too many! -

Dude, if it handled the bugle, the 501st pack, the razor crest, the star destroyer, and even bionicle's return way the hek back in 2015 (bionicle gen 2 was bad but we didn't know it yet, lol. Now I'm stuck with half a Toa team with no corresponding story), then it'll survive the gunship. Could be a popular set, but it's not a 501st battle pack or mando battle pack. -

I don't know about packaging, as the blue box/black box sets were before my time, but misprinted parts at least have never been rare or valuable, so idk how well scalping would go. (I may be mistaken, in which case I have some clone and imperial helmets with misprints for sale ) Agreed about the bad batch shuttle. I'm less sure about the mando fighter because it's pretty expensive with just 3 figs, and there are cheaper options to get mandos on the market right now. (for instance, you could get over 4 times as many mandos for the same price by buying the battle pack). I'd guess mostly afols will buy it, and while I'm sure bo-katan's price will be pretty bad on bricklink for awhile, I don't think it's a massable enough set for it to sell out fast. -

The only things I know about the singers is what they look like, as my grandparents got me action figures of them back when I was like, 7, and that the twi'leck one had an unrequited crush on boba fett. That said, they definately add a lot of atmosphere to the scene, and if I remember correctly they weren't slaves (though they were probably in the model node's situation of "yeah we're getting paid but if we try to leave he'll definately kill us"), which means coupled with their alien appearance they could probably get made without the same controversy. (I mean, lego did a whole people pack of swim suit minifigs, so I'm guessing the leia controversy is moreso that she was put in that outfit as a slave, which has a...certain connotation.) My personal Jabba's palace/barge MBS idea: Jabba's Palace ($449.99): massive 2500 pc jabba's palace formatted similar to the 2003 version, of a large central area with a tower on each side, and vertically tall (helps avoid that idiotic controversy and allows for the rancor pit. Middle section has a rancor pit on the bottom and jabba's throne room on top with a trapdoor and spot for carbonite han. Left tower has the droid torture room on the bottom, then a staircase leading up to the front gate, then more stairs leading to a guard post. Right tower is the same, except the bottom is a prison and the middle is a small landing with a jukebox like in the games. The Rancor is brick built, and also included is a 2000-ish pc barge with interior kitchen, prison, bar, jabba's viewing area, and deck cannon, along with a sarlacc and skiff. Figures are: Jabba, Crumb, Bib, Boba, 1x bmorr monk, 3x dancing girls, 2x gammorrean, 2x nikto, malaki, EV-9d9, 1x gonk, c-3po, r2, boushh, slave leia, luke, han, lando, chewbacca (chain print), max rebo, 1x gran, 1x ishi tib, 1x quarran, sny snootles, and yakface. -

This year's January was TINY compared to other years, and still lower than average even after adding in the march sets. Here are the chances I give: Shuttle: 70%. I don't know how lego deals with pre-orders, which is the only reason I'm not putting this at 100%, since they could increase stock based on the amount of pre-orders. But the main ship of a super popular show, with the entire main cast? It'd be almost like the razor crest if it sold with Cara, Kuill, and Gideon added, so I anticipate it'll sell out fast. Gunship: 50%. This is a wild swing. Either it doesn't sell out at all or it sells out almost instantly. This will depend on how many of the average UCS fans buy it, and how many of the voters put their money where their clicks are (since we already know a good percent are using the figs as an excuse not too). I don't see any other sets selling out anytime soon. They're good sets, but they don't have too much. The Marauder is more expensive and not as good for army-building as the 501st set, the duel's only draw is a new maul, and the sets with the most desirable figures (fennec, dark trooper, bo-katan), are expensive enough that a chunk of people will bricklink it instead. Personally I'm going after the duel, and have a pre-order secured for the shuttle. -

There might be an element of sunken cost fallacy, too. They could have done it all the way back in 2013 to give rex his rangefinder, but they didn't, and now characters like crosshair are without rangefinders as well. This is maybe one of the main areas I'm annoyed at lego with, since rangefinders on rex and crosshair are major parts of their helmets, and they won't give it a new mold. Definately reaching, they'd be different box sizes, and while the fan vote makes it a bit more complicated, I still think the gunship boxart would have been made first. It depends for me with that second part. The older boxart is more dynamic, but the new boxart gives off a more collectible, sort of black series vibe. I'm not sure which I prefer. -

Welcome to eurobricks, you've certainly made a grand entrance! If I'm understanding this right, you basically got lego customer service to admit to the existance of the UCS AT-AT. Kudos to you, sir, very impressive! Yeah, it's fantastic compared to the other two, but still has some hilariously awful dialogue and confusing plot points. This does translate to sets somewhat, ROTS always seemed to get more than the other prequels, at least in the past couple years (anakin's interceptor, grievous's starfighter, AT-AP, gunship, mustafar duel, etc just off the top of my head). I still wouldn't expect many sets for the prequels themselves soon, as clone wars and bad batch take place in the same era and are currently much more popular, so most of the prequel era builds are from those. I.E., the AT-RT and some BARCs, along with other vehicles, were packaged with clone wars/bad batch builds and figures. This is coming from lego customer service, so on the reliability scale it's 100%. Personally I believe the more reliable leakers, but some people only believe it once there's some sort of confirmation or leak from lego. Just off google images, the p1 and p2 armor for the basic clone shinies are identical, and the helmets are the only difference. I might be understanding this wrong, but as-is I really don't get this comment.
