  1. Yeah. The theme is not getting many sets, but there are still sets. It's not dead.
  2. Honestly, I think that the AT-ST is pretty cute. The "tree" is fine for a juniors set, and the speeder doesn't look bad either. For a juniors set, not bad. I might honestly pick it up if I can find it on sale.
  3. Yeah... I can't believe they scrapped that awesome concept art of them fighting on the rafters over a pool of lava to replace it with I'll give a point to lego for the fact that there wasn't a more interesting duel to do, but they (or lucasfilm or whoever chose this) still could have done one of the smaller ships from the show or the ep5 instead of that duel set.
  4. They're....increasing the price of the N-1? Jesus, at least stick the increases to stuff that was reasonably priced before, don't throw them onto sets that were already really overpriced! So sort of like the endor action battle set, something Afols will use as a $30 part/figure pack (though at least this one sounds like it has actually $30 of stuff. That action battle set was TINY for $30)
  5. If they have death star, you totally have to get it. The lower half of the planet alone sells more than the set itself did! (I believe this is because it's being used as an engine in some of the famous ISD mocs)
  6. duuuuuuude. I know it can't transform, but this looks way better than the official set.
  7. I know I said I'd stop making purist minifigures, but I had one more idea. Some of the characters spread across the outer rim. Varied in species, equipment, occupation, and morality, these denizens of the edge of galactic civilization show just how strange the outer rim can be. The explorer: The Explorer is an unknown model of class four droid. Heavily modified or even fully custom-built by unknown parties, this droid allegedly travels planet to planet within the Ab Dalis system without a ship, traveling at speeds thought impossible for an object of such small size. Equipped with evidently extremely powerful engines, a strange heavy blaster it only seems to use in self-defense, and a long-range communicator, the Explorer sends it's data out in the direction of the unknown regions, leading some to believe it's preforming as an explorer scout for an unseen alien civlization. The Gladiator: The Gladiator seems to exist only for war. The alien (of unidentified species) resides on Poln Major, entering any prize fight or gladiator pit he can find, and usually coming out on top. He covers himself in the rags, armors, and even teeth of the combatants he slays, the Gladiator forgoes all other prizes, living solely to fight and kill in any arena he can find. He typically fights with a round shield and some sort of laser-hammer. The Hunter: Where the Explorer's sole directive is exploration and the Gladiator lives for violence, the Hunter lives for the sport. Unlike some of the others here, the Hunter will tell his story to anyone he meets. He claims to be a former aristocrat who left his former life to seek out more exotic prey, something that would track with his eccentric personality and unique, but expensive, armor. Equipped with a laser bow and two small, spiked batons, the Hunter travels various systems along the edge of the galaxy, hunting alien creatures wherever he goes. The Soldier: The soldier is rarely seen without his full armor and helmet, but those who claim to have seen taking a drink at a cantina-or with his helm shattered from a fight- say he's a clone of the bounty hunter Jango Fett. That would make sense, considering the full body armor, and the familiarity the Soldier clearly has with all sort of military weapons and hardware. His favorites seem to be a double-barreled scattergun, as well as two shoulder mounted firearms: a repeating blaster and some sort of mortar. The Soldier also carries a riot shield, the one piece of his equipment that doesn't seem to get constantly damaged. Unlike most of the denizens of the rim, the Soldier is a bona fide do-gooder, fighting bandits and pirates along the rim for little to no reward. The Entity: The Grysk. Nuso Esva. The Vagaari. The Yuzhong Vong. All legendary boogeymen from outside the galaxy. Like them, the only thing certain about the entity is that if it's even real, it must come from the unknown regions. The physical description of it, usually heard by madmen in the streets or whispered frantically by those who claim to have seen it, is of a blue and gold armored creature with black and gold wings. One particular element that scares those who claim to have encountered it are the blazing orbs of yellow fire that seem to be it's eyes, which some claim are connected to the glowing yellow blade it's said to carry. Most encounters with The Entity are simply seeing it from far off, usually in barren, unpopulated, or abandoned areas, and while no reliable accounts have been obtained of the Entity in action, all who have seen it claim it is capable of great violence, and worse, say they gained a deep, unnerving feeling during the encounter that the being they were seeing was deeply malevolent. I've got 2 more entries in me, I think, both from different catagories. Another 12x12 vignette and an alphabet fighter.
  8. Grievous seems to have some price increases associated with his appearance in sets (I guess the wheel bike was alright, but look at the starfighter and speeder). So I'm really glad they didn't include him, I shudder to think of a $160 AT-TE that's just the same thing but with grievous added. I maintain that we'd see/have seen a system gunship earlier if not for the UCS one. System versions of sets tend not to be released while UCS versions of that set are already on shelves. Although, PSA for anyone wanting a cheap 2013 gunship: Add it to your bricklink wanted list via "part out", deselect the figures and speeder parts, then change the bubble canopies to the 2002 versions (goes from like $40 each to like $2 each). Unless prices have changed drastically in the past year, it'll save you like $100. There are some other minor things you can do that I put in a thread somewhere, but I'm too lazy to go find it. Dang, let me shop at your local store! The AT-TE and justifier are both sets I'll be watching for sales on. The AT-TE because I already have one but really want those clones (though I doubt it'll go on sale, it'll probably be really popular) and the justifier, which I don't want as much, but am fairly sure is gonna break the $100 mark at retailers by march 2023.
  9. Actually, Cad Bane's hat has a progressively smaller radius the further on in the timeline he gets. (I'm making a joke, but this is an actual thing people have figured out.) I don't know how much this affects sales, as it's not really something you find out until after the fact, but I have both the 2016 and 2019 AT-STs and they, while great looking, are some of the most unstable and finicky SW sets I've owned, so if the 2022 model is anything similar, I get why they want a version out for little kids.
  10. I would pay more than I should to get an official Morbifigure. *breathes in* IT'S MORBIN TIME Not a fan of the sanctum. The build is pretty good in terms of detailing, but it does look kind of weird, like a chunk of the building just on the right side. The figures are pretty lackluster too, both in number (only 8? in a $250 set?) and quality (lack of leg printing on half of them, some terrible hair choices, etc).
  11. Those are all pretty solid suggestions, my favorite is the updated TIE bomber (and hopefully an interceptor too). Yeah, maybe, but money's tight right now. If I'm buying a $100 set, it's got to be something I REALLY want, not just something that'll be worth more in a couple years. Mandoverse CMF: Could not think of an entire legends wave, here are 7 sets, literally all but 2 from the Thrawn Trilogy. Spacetrooper pod: ($9.99): Mole Miner pod with a Spacetrooper and Lando Calrissian. Chariot Tank Assault ($59.99): Chariot Tank and small bridge+building facade with collapse feature for the bridge. Comes with Han Solo, Aves, C-3PO, 1x imperial officer, 2x stormtrooper. Next set has spoilers for the 90s thrawn trilogy, which is really good and has great twists so I don't want to spoil it: Skipray Blastboat ($79.99): 2-seater Skipray Blastboat with Luke Skywalker (Jedi Master), R2-D2, Mara Jade (Smuggler), 2x stormtrooper (Ysmlari packs) Suwantek TL-1800 freighter ($139.99): TL-1800 with interior cockpit, gunnery stations, 2 rooms (with hidden equipment closets) and a small hanger with room for Brightwater's bike. Comes with Daric Larone, Taxtro Grave, Saberan Marcoss, Joak Quiller, Korlo Brightwater, (all in their non-armored outfits), and Mara Jade, as well as 3 stormtrooper armor suits and 1 scout trooper armor suit for the closets. UCS: UCS Ebon Hawk ($349.99): UCS Ebon Hawk with Bastila Shan (light side), Carth Onasi, Zaalbar, Mission Vao, Darth Malek, Bastila Shan (dark side), 2x sith trooper, Revan (starting outfit), Revan (white jedi knight robes), and Darth Revan. Heir to the Empire ($59.99): "When you understand a species' art, you understand that species"... or "Why, the only puzzle worth solving of course; the complete and utter destruction of the rebellion". or "But it was so artistically done...." Thrawn has so many great quotes, maybe they could include multiple quote tiles. Grand Admiral Thrawn's office with the ysmlari tubes. Comes with Grand Admiral Thrawn, Admiral Pelleaon, and 2x stormtrooper.
  12. I have bad news for you... it's $140 I'm really having to watch my wallet right now, so I don't think I'd get it anyway, but if I didn't have an AT-TE yet I'd be much more likely to suck it up and lay the money down for it. I really hope they do another 212th battle pack, they're my favorite legion but I don't want to get the AT-TE To be fair, it has been 9 years. (Or 6 years if you want to count the 2016 one, which I don't)
  13. I feel largely the same. There's a lot of great MBS choices they've skipped to do this, which, like you said, isn't his ship anymore. I'm not sure we'll see everyone on the ship, though. We could see a couple exclusives, or we could just as easily see an updated, heavily detailed episode 1 mando and a grogu.
  14. Super battle droids are VERY brittle. I had 4 as a kid and all of them broke (I wasn't rough with my toys, those were the first lego pieces I ever saw break). Whenever I get any in a lot to sell on Bricklink, I make sure to package them very softly and never disassemble them for shipping. My guess is lego's aware of this, but knows it'll require at least one new mold to fix, and since the past 7 years have been full of new content, they haven't gotten around to it. They should, though, SBDs are cool. The crab droid is more straightforward: I believe they only appear on utapau and in TCW, so they'd really only appear in that sort of sets. This AT-TE would have been the perfect opportunity, so it was either laziness/cost/timing decision to not design a new side build, or because they changed it from geonosis to utapau to include cody, in which case it's pretty cool. The crab droid not being an official set doesn't annoy me as much as a missing figure or large ship, since it's size and being a droid makes it pretty easy to MOC.
  15. No clue. Some sort of statue, a few imperial boxes, and some green thing. Don't remember any of them in the show. The last republic AT-TE was $90, and adjusting for inflation, that's $113. Sure, there's the dwarf spider droid, another battle droid, and 2 more clones, but that's not a $27 value. Here are my full thoughts I guess: AT-TE: A solid $15-20 overpriced, and the few changes they make from the 2013 model don't fix the previous inaccuracies. Awesome figures though, and i hope they appear in cheaper sets. If they really did change this from geonosis to utapau just to include Cody, that's a HUGE deal in terms of showing just how much they really do listen to the fans. Justifier. It looks really good, and the figures are great too. There are two real issues here: the fact that its $170, and the fact that lego thinks the justifier is popular enough to be a flagship set.
  16. Not sure about super accurate, but it's not hard to give it the correct number+orientation of toes. I'm really crossing my fingers that Cody shows up in a cheaper set next year, because I'm not buying the AT-TE. And some people are saying the justifier is $170? Which is even crazier. No, thank you. I'll wait until it inevitably becomes, like, half off at target. Yeah, that's probably what they were going for. Between this and the "metallic gray" comment it's got to be the razor crest. I think he was being sarcastic about how intense the cody campaign was, but yeah, Rex would be nice to get now. Especially since they can do the antennae instead of just ignoring it like last time.
  17. I'm not trying to brag, but even I could make better AT-TE feet: Say what you will, at least it has the correct number of "toes" Honestly, not a fan of the walker at all. It's just the 2013 one with more desirable figures. I'll cross my fingers Cody and the 212th reappear somewhere else. I'm somewhat pleasantly surprised on the justifier, but not enough to make it a good set in my eyes. It's well-built and seems pretty big, so it's not outrageously overpriced, but that doesn't mean it's worth it either. Who wanted this set?
  18. Locking cad bane behind a $160 set where he and Omega are the only real draw is one thing. Putting him in that set at least in part expecting people to buy it so they can use that cad bane, who's not in the right outfit for TBOBF, in TBOBF sets would drive me nuts. Yeah, that's annoying me a bit. The gunship was fine, because people hopefully aren't army-building those. The accessory pack is a little worse, but at least it had more standard clones than ranked ones in the set. The advent calendar, though...agh. I used them for army-building, but this has what, 2 figures you can army-build, one of which is just the standard battle droid?
  19. Not as far as I can tell, but it's only $5 sealed on bricklink (cheaper than the figure alone, for some reason). I might buy a copy or two. I guess it's possible? There was an image of the back of the instructions of the august SW sets awhile back that was super-low quality but had our first fuzzy look at a couple sets that haven't had other images leaked yet, as well as seemed to show some sort of tan building as a previously unleaked set. That got taken down after a day or two. It's certainly possible lego just caught this one early.
  20. I just hope it brings bricklink prices down. Or that they expand the magazine to the US.
  21. Supposedly the next figure in the lego star wars magazine will be the mandalorian loyalist. Jealous of you guys in europe if that's true.
  22. Same here. Especially since it's not actually a different armor type, it's just the animation style.
  23. First of all, how dare you make me click on a devientart page, even if it's just clone designs. That's cool, and it's pretty much a 1:1 adaption, so I think you're definately right that this was the basis. It's also interesting that he's called an AT-TE trooper, wonder if he's the Phase 2 "driver" for the AT-TE, since I don't believe we've ever seen them in canon. Also concept art bly looks AWESOME. Ah. Yeah that's accurate. Not really expecting a stunning build from that. The snippets of the set we get with each figure reveal are kind of cool, but I definately can't wait to see the full thing either.
  24. The Cody image suggests some sort of interior passenger seat or something, at least. The Dwarf spider droid won't take up all 300 pieces either, but it is important to temper expectations here. Newer sets tend to have more, smaller parts, and the last republic AT-TE was nearly a decade ago. This guy is not in the movies, or any on-screen content for that matter. The design seems to be traced back to the cross-section books, the previous lego minifigure of the fella is the most common image result for Phase 2 clone gunner. I get that the image is potato quality, but I'm pretty sure you can still tell apart the AT-TE and AT-ST. I can't find the images anymore (or codyleaks at all for that matter), but between the aforementioned difference between AT models, @jdubbs said "ummm" in response to someone mentioning the 4+ AT-ST not having been revealed yet, which doesn't bode well for the set.
  25. Kenobi is killing me, man. The plot holes that are showing up, as well as the VERY BIG ONE that they hint at towards the end, it's like they just don't care about the original films. I just feel so... drained. And it's impacting the sets for me, as I LOVE the scythe set, but I just like the show enough to justify spending $100 on it. But, yeah, these sets would be nice to have. The $20 one was one of the bright spots of this episode, and I'd love to have it as a set. Animation CMF series (CW, BB, Rebels): Mandoverse wave: Ok so finishing this up will be a mandoverse CMF and Legends set wave, then a SW gaming CMF and set wave. I do want to get a second wishlist MOC wave out by the end of the summer, so, again, If you've got set ideas you'd want to see done as MOCS, let me know!
