I actually have some leaked sets from this wave: Titanium man mech ($34.99): War machine and titanium man (just him in plainclothes, made of basic re-used parts). Iron Monger mk 2 ($39.99): War machine and Zeke Stane. Warbuster mk 2 ($69.99): Colonel Rhodes and 2x Aim agent. UCS Don Cheadle bust ($349.99) -
@cycbuild Is the blaze trooper your own design or adaption of an existing one? Either way, excellent job on all of them, but that one's by far my favorite.

[CaTC] Cryptid Hunters
Mandalorianknight replied to Nokturn's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Ohhhhh! In that case, great job! I know MOCs are getting stolen by the knockoff companies, so I assumed you found some site selling his set. In retrospect, I don't think amazon allows that. But the fact that I was fooled definately speaks to the quality of that tease. I agree that it's a great set, too.- 16 replies

They move fast, I'll give them that. I wish there was a way to crack down on these guys. I'm gonna wait a little longer to see how to allocate my votes (if your victory is clear, I might vote to get a different theme to second place), but you can count on up to 3 votes depending on how far behind you are towards the end.- 16 replies

[MOC] Surefoot TR3 Rover (Ice Planet Badlands)
Mandalorianknight replied to HarrisBricks's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Dude, leave it be. The man's made an awesome ice planet moc, why are you so adament that because it uses an extra color or two, it's not ice planet? It's a fan made creation for a fictional space group made for what is ultimately a children's toy line. You don't get to decide what is and isn't ice planet. -
Well, it looks like this one's been destroyed in the polls. I wasn't expecting it to win (though the ones I expected to win also aren't doing well), but I do appreciate the support and that it got any votes at all. Those who did vote, the Legionnaires salute you. I'm busy this week, but I'll be starting on the other 3 sets soon. Thanks! Yeah, they'd have to be toned down for an actual theme. Thank you! I'm glad you like them.

Thank you! I think exactly 20 years, she's definately long overdue. I think a microfighter duel pack would be a good way to do it, as kids would buy it to get an anakin and we'd all buy it for Zam. The shield generator was another fun one, it was a struggle to do it without those big UFO quarter circles Assault on Hoth used (which are inaccurate because the shield generator doesn't have that sort of chamfer/slope they have), since there aren't many large round lego bricks. Thank you! The guy who suggested that one actually included a $50 price point target as part of the suggestion, so you've got him to thank for the scale.

Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

I'm sure we'll get a wolveriene and I'm not sure we won't get a deadpool, but what we definately won't see is a set based on the movie. My bet is comic-based characters in a X-men branded set, maybe more movie-styled (but still not stated by lego to be movie based) figures in an 18+ set like avengers tower or something. -
The Tribute to The Razor Crest - Released!

Lol my guy I agree $600 is overpriced, but $300? Really? How big do you think it is? -
Ooh, that might work. I also found this, which I think might work too.

Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I mean, your opinion doesn't matter so much as lego's opinion of what 18+ sets mean, unless you're producing the sets of course. Lego seems to just be using them to market sets to adults, and they're typically just sets with more complexity/less play features/etc. IIRC the bugle designer hinted at a bit of leeway with some of the figures in that set due to it being 18+, but I wouldn't expect a deadpool set anytime soon. My guess is we see either a set with comic-based Wolverine and Deadpool, branded under X-Men, or potentially a more movie-accurate deadpool and wolvierine in an 18+ avengers tower. Wolveriene's almost a given to appear in 2024 in some form, since he's not just known for R-rated stuff, but the issue with Deadpool is (despite not only being in R-rated stuff, I know) he's associated with it by the GA more than even Daredevil, Blade, or Punisher. That's remained pretty stable, they've confirmed a few times that it's gonna be R-rated. The short answer is... yes? The long answer is I have absolutely 0 clue what the heck is going on. Right now it sounds like there is at least one more D2C this year, which may or may not be $500, and also may or may not be the hulkbuster. -
The close-mouthed face is great, I'll use that if I buy the set. Speaking of Syril, any hair ideas?

I've been keeping stuff on flash drives recently, so the only digital model I'm missing is my TIE interceptor from a year or two ago, and of course this one, which I was just too stupid to save a copy of. I find stud.io to be better, but I never had much experience with LDD. I'm gonna be pedantic here: The canon battlefront games have a TON of blue ice on hoth in some maps. Now of course there isn't any by the generator or in the trenches at all, so... As for the probe droid, I can't take credit for it, it's just a recolor of the one from the newest AT-ST Ohhhh, yeah the hinges are just kinda there. No real reason for it.

Glad to see someone prefers paladins (though I may have hamstrung myself with voting here if I've caused some people to switch from paladins to hear, but there are better themes than either of mine anyway and I didn't do this with winning as the primary focus). The Halo vibes are definately there, I just realized I didn't mention this in the previous post but the ProtoLegionnaire was added once I realized the halo influence, since I thought Master Chief was the first spartan. (He apparently is not...I'm not the best at halo lore). And yeah, the Finality's not gonna put up much of a fight in these sets, sort of like when lego throws a stormtrooper into a Y-wing set. Their power is more in numbers, which they'd have in other sets, and some of the variations we don't see in these like the Brutes (welp, another unintentional halo reference) or the wyverns. But for now, they're pretty outmatched....or that would be the case if the little bug thing didn't have the power of a thousand legionnaires!* *this is not true to any extent, the little bug guy will unfortunately be massacred horribly. On the bright side for him, he's either part of a hive mind or a force of nature, so he's not exactly sentient.
-
Thanks! I don't play either, but I realized about halfway through that the Legionnaires were somewhat similar to Halo's Spartans (though at a much higher power level and lower number) The Final End/Finality/etc is definately supposed to be threatening. They're supposed to lean into an almost horror-like vibe, not so much in body horror or jumpscares, but the knowledge that these things have killed off every alien race that ever achieved interstellar travel, and there's no reasoning or bargaining with them. Welp as one of those posers who just memes it, nice Raiden custom. And can't wait to see your theme! It sounds really cool.

And LoTR (And Indiana Jones) are back next year... how much are kidneys going for these days? In a way they already increased it from $530 to $600... this is why I think I'm gonna pass. -

LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Not sure what you mean. It's still LBG like in the system set The set looks incredible, and I love the interior. I think the price is a little high at $600, but nothing insanely overpriced. I won't be getting it, as it's just too expensive, but it looks very nice. I have a few minor issues: The mythrol head is bad. Didn't need to be molded, it just doesn't capture the character. Kuill's head is also weirdly droopy. I also don't like those gaps. I LOVE the blurrg though, and will be copying the design. Ironically, I already have the pram design in LBG, since it's just a minor change from the advent calendar design that I made back in 2021. -
The sets might not be the most complex, but they're great little builds and the concept is something so lego-like that for a second I thought they'd actually done it before *they have not*. Would love to see a racetrack or the castle someday, I know a few people here are planning on making the other three sets for their entries. Yeah, I dunno. We'll see when cloneopatra gets back on, but since Cyborg_samurai's not submitted yet, I don't think they're gonna grant a second extension. I look forewords to voting. So many strong contenders, there are at least 3 themes I think deserve to win (and my own, of course! ). It'll be a democratic bloodbath, that's for sure. (maybe not for the figure part though, I think there are only 4 or 5 entries there)
-
It sounds like we'll see something more unique for this one based on what cloneopatra said in another thread. I hope we can vote for multiple though (and maybe not our own, because I'm not sure how many non-entrants are planning on voting, and a 19-way tie would be...odd)

@Agent Kallus Thanks, the Suwantek is probably my favorite too. Though I get why you wouldn't buy it, appearing in 2 non-canon books, it isn't really at the millennium falcon level of fame. Yeah, I was surprised at how different it was, I always just thought it was an AT-DP with the blaster replaced with the arc, and then the side thingies. But it seems to be taller and have a much different cockpit. The legs are actually super posable, though I'm not sure how many are feasible balance-wise. If you look, there are the BD-1 style joints at the "hips", potentially allowing for even more motion than the actual vehicle, as well as the ability to rotate the "knees" back and forth. Ezra's outfit is technically a different color, but all the nougats blend together in stud.io The central wing's hinge is just a couple ball joints for the V-19 Torrent. I wish I saved the more part-heavy geonosian fighter somewhere, it was a thing of beauty. And yeah, stud.io's part inventory isn't great (especially since it's now owned by lego... it should have all parts on it now, right?). Blue snow (colloquially known as "ice") is what they did in assault on hoth, and since my set was essentially attempting to be the generator from that set but not dumb, I kept it in. Though I agree it's not the most engaging set...play features aside, the generator isn't that interesting to look at. Thank you, color choice for Exogol was hard but I agree Sand Blue works well. I probably could have made it less wide, but I think it'd look a bit weird. Microfighters all are definately on the higher end of the part count (Though still within reason). I agree Zam is overdue. Oops, didn't mean to repeat the same image. Here's another: As for the duel, I will defend that pillar placement: Unlike the 2013 set, there just aren't enough figure slots to fit Kenobi and Skywalker. Scarif was a hard one, and it does end up looking a bit plain (that jagged edge was rough too, but it was that or small gaps along the side. It sort of has an almost lego death star style of simplicity in the base of the build. To be fair, though, a lot of that's just the source material being a gray tower. As for the hinges with sand and trees on the sides, that's to add a bit of color and visual. They hinge to aid in display. Believe me, if you think it looks plain now, imagine it with a gray base and no trees at the bottom.

[MOC] Surefoot TR3 Rover (Ice Planet Badlands)
Mandalorianknight replied to HarrisBricks's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
It's a very nice vehicle. With both of these, you've made stuff that just feels ice planet, even with all the new parts added. It is? He added a couple, sure, but the main color scheme is the same, and he literally says he added more colors in the post. Why are you complaining?
