  1. Oh, the technic one. Right, I forgot.
  2. I don't know this for sure, but the fact that it was mainly used on constraction pieces (which are much larger than standard bricks of course) may imply something's off with the durability of that color for standard connections, and standard bricks from it would be brittle like maroon and reddish brown used to be. I've certainly had enough flat silver speartips break off to corroborate that. On the other hand, some flat silver standard parts do exist. The 1x2 curved slope and 1x1 stud, for example. I wonder if those bricks don't experience the same stresses as standard tiles (which I could see for the 1x1 stud, but I'm not sure about the 1x2 curved slope), or if my theory's just wrong.
  3. Given that this one is supposed to be much larger than it's piece count would suggest, I don't think we'll have to worry about side builds.
  4. Thank you! Look, I've laughed at a lot of your jokes but this is just too far. Wasn't it obvious I was talking about lego George Clooney?
  5. Thank you! As an update, I've finished the 6 smallest sets (sort of cheating: The mechs are all pretty similar, and I already had a Batboat and Batmobile for something else I was working on but never finished or posted.) Tomorrow I'll move onto the War of light set. I'm definately not doing the D2C, something with that many parts would crash my computer, but all the other wave 1 sets should be complete by Halloween. If people like it, I might build wave 2, and I already have some ideas for a Wave 3 cooking. This could turn into a yearly thing, like my SW community wishlist one. (which was sort of semi-yearly this time, but that was just because it took me like 6 months to do it, and the second one only took 2 months... eh). Most of it's fine, but I'm pretty excited to show off my non-oversized brick built batcycle, as well as my Batmobile that's been around for like 6 months without being posted. I could see a UCS version being the 2023 UCS Bat-vehicle (if we get one at all). A minifig-scale one is less likely and would probably be super oversized, but I welcome any new sets from the best live action batman stuff
  6. Could be worse. At least we're getting sets. DC hasn't had any standard system sets this year (3 max if you count The Batman sets, but they released in 2021 in some places) Well, that's a little more interesting. $550 is still too much for me but if I happen to win the lottery or sell my kidney or something I'll buy it. No, no, no. A $950 mk2 hulkbuster (the same size, though), and because of it, we lose the Morbius set.
  7. It's a weird mixed point. Technically Leia's costume did exist before, but they always had her in a tan jacket, when her entire outfit was white. The UCS falcon was the first one to have a Leia in her ESB costume in all white, though she appeared with a slightly less detailed version a year after the UCS falcon. I thought it was han's first costume too, but he does appear in his blue jacket in an AT-AT in 2010. On the other hand though, it's a pretty major update to the figure, and it's the first time both Han and Leia had their oxygen masks on. I don't think either are as popular as Kuill, but I also don't think Kuill will be more than around $50, much less $150 like the guy I was responding to said. I mean, maybe? I could see kuill showing up again somewhere, but the Mythrol is a lot less likely. I agree. I think Kuill might stay around $40 or $50, but mythrol will drop with lack of demand. And like you say, of course retirement will bring their prices back up. Really? under his post you should see a picture of a minifigure's head and hair saying "Mick, Corsec, 286 xp", then John 14:6 below that, then a billion links. Are you on Mobile? Does Mobile hide signatures?
  8. I agree in general, but if it's $500 USD (which is what I believe they meant), you'd be comparing it to the USD price of bowser, only $270. (and of course we wouldn't be getting a minifig scale city, that'd be like house-sized IRL. But a microscale exterior section of minas trith with minifig-scale scenes on the other side seems like something they could do) Again, not something I think they WOULD do, but it's possible. I agree. As a D2C set, something like the world map would have to be around twice the size, which is just obstructively large. Even if you built up the locations like in the ideas set (which then creates a whole new issue because it goes from a wall decoration to a tabletop decoration, and generally people have more wall space than table space), it'd still by an absolutely massive set that I just don't see happening.
  9. Not to minimod, but you might want to check out the thread. It's pretty much exactly what you've made here.
  10. The GWP does worry me somewhat, as it'll be hard to show that fans are buying sets to get the GWP as opposed to a standard set where you can tell if it sells, by, you know, it selling well. But I do hope it does well, and that it could lead to any form of G3. I think at this point, we have the parts, and the main thing we need for bionicle is a continuation of the story (or more likely, a reboot, but ideally a story of the same depth). This is the one time that i'll spend bonkers amounts of money for a GWP. Long Live Mata Nui. It is! Definately not, I can't imagine we would have images of a 2023 set months ago. I dunno, GWPs recently have been pretty solid. Look at the lars homestead kitchen, ray the castaway, the forestmen hideout, etc. I would buy pretty much any set to get Tahu. Hell, I'd buy VIDIYO sets to get Tahu.
  11. According to brick_clicker, Lego Bionicle is getting a promotional set, a buildable Tahu figure, releasing in early 2023! It's a GWP, so it'll be a little tough to get, but this is HUGE news! After all this time, a new bionicle set!
  12. I'm bored so I'm gonna throw out a wishlist in the style of my SW ones. Microfighters: Hulkbuster ($9.99): Mk 43 iron man Blackbird ($9.99): Cyclops Helicarrier vs quinjet ($19.99): Helicarrier (with nick fury) and avengers 1 strike jet (with mind controlled hawkeye) Battle Packs: Shield agents battle pack ($14.99): 2x shield soldier, 1x bridge officer (galega guy), and 1x shield pilot (all from avengers 1). Build is a weapons rack and bridge console (with galega print) Thanos's army battle pack ($14.99): 2x chitauri, 2x outrider. Comes with one of those gorrila-like things thanos has Duel: Helicarrier showdown ($19.99): helicarrier catwalk and data card entry thing over a base with parts to represent the glass "floor". Comes with WW2 suit cap and the Winter Soldier standard sets: Midnight sons: Mindless ones attack ($29.99): Comes with Ghost rider (Johnny Blaze) on a non-oversized bike, Daredevil from the bugle, punisher (same torso as the bugle, but new face and no dual molded legs), Doctor Strange, and 2 brick-built mindless ones Sentinel Attack (Non MCU, $39.99): Large brick-built sentinal with 90s animated series versions of wolverine, Professor X, Rogue, and Gambit. Fantastic 4: Doomed ($59.99): a part of a latverian castle with an interior lab. There is a wall for Thing to smash through. Comes with Invisible woman, Mr. Fantastic (spare, normal torso as well as an elongated arms one), Human Torch, and a bigfig of Thing, as well as a Dr. Doom minifig Battle of Earth ($89.99): massive leviathon and a chitauri chariot with Loki, 2x chitauri, Iron man mk7, Hulk, Thor, and Cap. Giant-Man: battle at avengers compound ($99.99): Massive giant man figure and a chitauri tank. Statue of Liberty Battle ($159.99): portion of the statue of liberty and associated scaffolding with multiple explode and collapse features. UCS: I am Iron Man ($549.99): Life-Sized Iron Man helmet and Arc reactors (origional, triangular, and nanotech) on a display plaque. Comes with Tony Stark, the MK 1, the MK7, and the MK85. MBS: Oscorp (Non-MCU, $299.99): Massive oscorp tower with interior penthouse suit, musuem-like floor with the spider, goblin transformation chamber like in the raimi films, and an armory like in TASM 2. Comes with Peter Parker, Spider-Man (symbiote suit), Scarlet Spider, Spider-Man (1960s cartoon), Deadpool, Daredevil (dark red suit with brown belt, stubble printing on face), Dr Strange (classic comics look), Wolverine (brown and yellow), Harry Osborn, Norman Osborn, Mary Jane Watson, Oscorp scientist, The Jackal, Green Goblin, Hobgoblin, Kingpin (minifigure, not bigfig), Kraven, Scorpion, Silver Sable, Hammerhead, The Lizard, and Hydro-Man. Qoute sets (18+): Devil of Hell's Kitchen ($39.99): Church rooftop with Daredevil (there's a compartment on the back to swap between Netflix suit, Comic suit, and homemade suit). Qoute.. ah, there's so many, but I'd go with "The city needs me in that mask", "a man without fear", or simply "I'm daredevil". Infinity ($49.99): The wreckage of avengers compound with the most recent thanos (new face print) and Iron man with the nano gauntlet. Quote is "and I... am... Iron Man." Assembled ($89.99): New York street and wreckage with the original 6 avengers in a group shot. The quote is "Avengers... Assemble" (which yeah, isn't entirely applicable, but it fits)
  13. Hold on, Cad Bane is a SUPER popular character among collecters. I don't think Kuill is gonna be at the same level of popularity. Even besides that, I don't think you can just assume he'll cost a fourth of the cost of the set just off one other figure. By that logic the exclusive Falcon figures should have all been $200, and I don't think they were nearly that high, were they? It's not perfect, but here he is: (in spoiler for space as to not take up too much space for something off-topic)
  14. Not that I was even close to the only one to do so, but I totally called that this would flop (if it does indeed continue to trend the way it is). I mean, c'mon, really? Who at Lego thought this was a smart move? I will look forewards to the cheaper prices of many black parts caused by bricklink sellers buying and parting out this set when it hits absurd discounts. As for the $550 hulkbuster... man, I think a hulkbuster would do great in theory, but it's like they're TRYING to kill the set. Less popular hulkbuster version, bad PPP, only one figure that doesn't fit the movie and is pretty similar to one we already got in a cheaper set to obtain, etc.
  15. Zeb is my White Whale. There are other, more expensive characters I want, but they're either easy to make purist customs of (Revan) or aren't part of a set "crew" (symbiote spider-man). My rebels collection is incomplete without Zeb, and yet as the amount I'm willing to spend to obtain him increases, so is the amount he goes for secondhand. The figure itself isn't even that good, but that head is closer than any purple minifig head or brick-built abomination Anyway, what were we talking about, Kuill? I'd place him at $50 to start, bottoming out around $20-25 and increasing exponentially once the set retires, or if he appears in other sets, cheapening dramatically. @Legodude123, I'd suggest using the standard Ugnaught head and finding some similar torso on bricklink or in your own collection. You'd be missing the cap, but at least you wouldn't be paying $50 for a single minifig.
  16. Yeah, but lego has to know how well it would sell. Aside from some scattered mechs, I haven't bought lego marvel since endgame (Though it'll change if I can find a discount on the bugle), but I would spend hundreds on a NWH set. I'm cheating and giving you 4: 1: Hulkbuster 2: Avengers tower 3: Don cheadle bust 4. (out of left field guess) Oscorp
  17. the 2022 film Morbius was based on the marvel comics character morbius the living vampire take that as you will Being based on a luxary yacht doesn't make the set good, though.
  18. Hey, to be fair it's a target audience of edgy 14 year olds. you know, the ones who like shadow the hedgehog. Honestly everytime I hear the word Morb now I just remember that we're getting a Morbius minifigure. It feels like I'm living in a fever dream (and then I revert to the nightmare of impending ww3) HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH *breathes* HHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH Are you kidding? even with the price increase, that's hilarious! I do not expect this to sell well at all and look forewards to picking up M'Baku, red ranger, and 1x6x5 black panels at a discounted price.
  19. First of all... Holy cow, you weren't kidding! I vaguely remembered your profile picture, checked your activity, and yeah, years without any posts! Totally agree with everything you said though, I'd much prefer sets based off the LOTR movies than the rings of power show. Aside from LOTR just being one of those things that doesn't need spinoffs like that, I really don't like the show. I'd be ok with Hobbit sets, the films weren't the best but they came out when I was a kid so they've got a place in my heart. I really just want to see some nice D2Cs and a battle pack for the uruk-hai Yup. This thing'll be killed in review if it gets there. A shame, it's quite nice.
  20. I know! I had this as a kid, and I've lost most of the stuff by now, unfortunately including Smaug. I think all I have left is Dwalin's torso and Kili's head (Which I've been using for the Punisher for years). I'm kicking myself now as to how dumb I was to take this apart as a kid, and how I somehow managed to lose Smaug. I can see myself just taking apart the rest of the set/figures and giving them away/selling them, but I feel like I'd remember giving up Smaug.
  21. IDK if they're available online, but there are copies out there. I'd find someone who has one (by searching for reviews) and ask the reviewer if they'd be willing to scan the instructions. You'd think a single company wouldn't be delaying the entire gaming theme? I hope we see a few more sets next year. I think a spider-man ps5 set would be great, and I wouldn't mind sets for (it was at this moment I realized how few video games I play. And since we're not seeing super smash bros sets until nintendo stops being cowards, I don't actually have any suggestions.) If anyone remembers Castle Crashers, that'd be fun, though it's like 15 years old so it'd never get a set. It's basically got the story and main heroes of a lego theme, with elemental, colorful knights. 90% of lego blunders are related to their website. Didn't most of the BP sets leak via the instructions site? Though to be fair, this one's been up for forever.
  22. The concern is no fig, since everyone seems to agree there's no way we get sets. I think it's the third time I've said "while I think deadpool is coming, *x* reason why is inapplicable", but c'mon, morbius isn't exactly the same maturity rating as deadpool.
  23. Maybe a half hour total? *I should clairfy, that's a half hour where I was responding to emails, listening to a podcast, etc while doing this. Not a half hour of focused work* Pretty fast at first but it took while to come up with some of the wave 2 sets and check to make sure the rosters for the D2Cs were correct. (I haven't seen either series in full, just certain episodes)
  24. Not that I think we won't get a deadpool, but the issue with Punisher and Daredevil was that they were somewhat well-known for the brutal (but excellent) netflix shows. The thing is, that isn't the only thing they're known for in pop culture like Deadpool is, where Ryan Reynolds and the films just became the deadpool standard. Even then there's the double hit of the comic costumes being more different from the netflix ones than deadpool is from his comic one (where it's pretty much just a darker red, as opposed to daredevil's giant DD on his chest and Punisher's spandex and white boots) alongside the shows, while being too violent for kids, not being as overtly offensive as deadpool, where the point seems to be to go as far as it can. Not that I think that's bad, it's pure deadpool, but I think it's harder for the average parent to accept (Which is also understandable). Another aspect might be morality. Daredevil is quintessentially a good man, with Catholic faith being a major part of his character, and his refusal to kill. Punisher is a more morally ambiguous character, but that's usually the point of his stories, with other heroes coming into conflict with him over that. (Also, this gives me an opportunity to bring up the amazing scene in the comics where Cap is beating down Punisher, who refuses to fight back, "not against you.") Deadpool, at least in his movies, doesn't exactly have spider-man stopping him from lopping off heads, or Cap telling him "language". (Sure, there's Colussus, but he's a joke). TLDR: Daredevil and punisher are from more mature stuff. Deadpool is seen by many parents as an active bad influence on kids.
  25. I've said it before and I'll say it again: if Batman is what sells, it should be easy to make a Batman wave with a leaguer in each set like they used too. A wave like: I have so many ideas, wave 2: Honestly if people want I might make some of these.
