LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Ok, so there's still hope. But was that when they were unveiled, or when leakers found out about them? Because I know for a few days leakers thought p1 cody and rex were in the accessory pack. Same. Jan 1 I'm buying 2-3 specialist packs and the Morbius set. The new andor episode almost made me cry, this show is EXCELLENT. I'm buying the set now, if nothing else I need (Unrelated, but the Mon Mothma scenes are starting to drag for me. They haven't gotten worse, it's just that everything else is so good that it's dragging down in comparison) -

And luckily, the handheld stud shooters seem to be a thing of the past for SW now. 100% agree, they wouldn't use this in a D2C. I don't think it necessarily is huge evidence towards system sets, could just be they want to use it for both avatar and hawkeye/green arrow (though I feel like a DC set containing a hero besides batman might be more shocking news than LOTR system sets at this point), but it's definately something that they would use in system sets were LOTR system sets coming. My guess is 2023 is just brickheadz and a D2C, before 2024 hits us with the full wave. -

Same, at least in terms of the May stuff (and the Mando sets), but, and not to get people's hopes up, how far in advance did we know about the accessory packs? I know the specific contents were pretty heavily in question up to the point of image reveals, at least for the clone one, but how far in advance did we know they existed? -

I totally thought they already used that color on him, but it didn't exist yet for figs. (I'm gonna be that guy and say that medium brown has been a color since 04 from bionicle ) So yeah, it'd definately be a nice addition to the figure. And I think they can fit the spoiler stuff in too. Giancarlo Espacito's already implied that pretty heavily in promotional stuff. Well now I'm confused. I believe both throne rooms are coming as 18+ dioramas, though the jabba one contains nowhere near that number of figures. -

I believe it's typically around a year, though larger sets take longer, brickheadz can take less time, etc. -

I don't quite understand your question. Do you mean how long does it take from the start of a set's design for it to show up on shelves? How long a set is produced before retiring? These Marvel D2Cs have rivaled Assault on Hoth and Camp Nou for the worst D2Cs of all time. The BP bust is not only a weird choice, but has failures even as a display piece. The Hulkbuster is a solid idea for a D2C, but has horrible proportions and as such also fails as a display piece. -
Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks! I don't want to say my exact plan for this (partially because I'm not exactly sure if I can do it), but the hammerhead will show up in the wave in some capacity. Also, production has officially begun and is on track for a December 16th release. -

That definately is a 501st helmet with holes in it. -

No, dude, he's talking about getting more sets for the show, not the show itself continuing. -

We'll say it's a cowl. We've got to add another one then, 13 is so unlucky that the Oakenshield company had to settle for a hobbit just to get 14 members. You can't ignore Rasta Batman though. -

Actually, there are 7 cowl molds if you count special suits, and 11 if you count other members of the bat-family. 12 if you count bat-mite. I am 12 parallel universes ahead of you. -

Well that's certainly possible, it's important to remember that the part isn't exclusive to marvel sets. It could be as simple as an architectural element in the next modular. -

Feel bad. I definately knew that there were 3 cowl types before 2 years ago. Definately. -

Oh, sorry, I thought I clarified but yeah I didn't mean you specifically i just meant in general. It's people trying to have their cake and eat it too. No, but they said it was an AOTC set, then they tweeted a gif of Cody and the utapau AT-TE killing the geonosis AT-TE, then the released set was an ep3 at-te with cody. I can't think of a different reason for them to take the effort to change it. Isn't it black? It was black in Rogue One at least. But anyway, yeah, I totally agree. That'd be a nice set to get, and could get us Saw, who's probably the most important character we've never had a figure of. Awwww, shoot, it's not the one with the teeth? -

I'm gonna pick on you despite the fact that you were half-joking, because I'm irrationally annoyed by this. Based off all the Promobricks stuff, it really seems that AOTC was going to have almost the exact same thing for it's 20th that ESB got for it's 40th, a big walker set. But because we all whined about cody so much, they changed it to ROTS so they could put him in. It's our fault that AOTC didn't get a big anniversary walker branded as such (but at least the walker still works for AOTC.) It's not like lego maliciously annoyed it out of anti-prequel sentiment like some (not you) keep implying. -

If we didn't already know the battle pack was based off the battlefront 2 501st, I'd have guessed that Promobricks got confused and it's the blue ARC troopers. It does make me wonder, as it seems a weird thing to celebrate when they really only celebrate the anniversary of ESB. (Not to mention it's the 40th anniversary of ROTJ). I wonder if this means CW03 might get a set or two. -

You're thinking I mean the type 3 cowl. Type 1 was the original Batman sets, type 2 is the current chinstrap one, type 3 is the one without the chinstrap. And yeah, Pattinson really needed a new mold. -

As the guy two posts above you said, it's just the Nutcracker arm printing. It's probably not going to be on the actual figure My guess is the Keaton suit is just a new torso print on an otherwise standard black suit batman with type 2 cowl. -

Many of the newer ones with the closer skin tone use normal arms and legs. Specifically, they appear in 3 sets with those limbs, including the cheapest set, in both male and female variants. (still not sure if it's the exact same skin tone though) -

Mandalorianknight replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
just buy a ton of Attuma heads and put them on the avatar figures. Not sure if the skin tones are the same, but other than that it's pretty perfect. It's hilarious to me that the two biggest movies of the fall/winter are water-based sequels to highly successful films, featuring a tribe of aquatic blue people, and both risk failing to reach the heights of the first (With BP, many people are still wondering how the movie's going to do without T'challa, and for Avatar...do people care about Avatar anymore? My guess is BP2 does well, not NWH well but still pretty well, but that Avatar doesn't even get half of what the first one got if you account for inflation) -
Another excellent addition to the series, I love how bug-like it works. It's like a hyperrealization of 4-LOM's own design.

Oh, you've seen the Bat-Cycle chase set from my DC moc wave? Jokes aside honestly just release the exact same set and don't put the flash branding on it. The suit doesn't look much like the movie suit anyway. That's like, that's what gets me most here. With Overwatch, yeah apparently the people there were jerks, but as far as I know they weren't on some assault/kidnapping spree. And the set wasn't like a "Blizzard headquarters" set, it was of the game. For this, your main actor is some sort of criminal maniac. Now granted, I don't think they should have cancelled the overwatch set. Honstly I think they should just rebrand the set as generic DC. Maybe throw in a red hairpiece and say the flash in it is Wally West. -

Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well, there are always "x is innocent" people, but what almost worries me more is all the people ignoring it. Like, this guy's done some seriously horrible stuff, and we're just going to pretend he didn't? Like, I'd get it if it was a celebrity tweeting something controversial, because you can (and I have) make the argument for freedom of speech and how it doesn't affect the movie, but this guy's committed multiple violent crimes and is getting away scot-free. Yeah same. I should clarify that I don't think buying the set is some sort of defense of Ezra Miller. Though I do still hope they rebrand it just because I really don't think they should release the flash movie, at least not while Miller's out of jail.
