LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 23. Rumors and discussion
Gorilla94 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I like that the red Dragon suit guy will be getting a girlfriend and a full mask snowman would be a cool snow man in a lanscape sceene. A Wolf headgear with open face could be at least usable for a Roman soldier... I like the idea of getting a stick horse. Will look great with a child minifig in a castle setting. I just really hope the knight/his shield won't be pink but something i can use somehow :/ until now it sounds much better than series 20-22 to me, but I am glad I stopped collecting the whole serieses a while ago... ^^' -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Gorilla94 replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Totally. I thought we need medium legs first time when we got lotr dwarfs.... with medium legs they are bigger than hobbits yet smaller than humen and elves :D Donald made the desire for them even worse. The new medium sized legs are the coolest piece of the last years in my opinion... and that says something after getting an axe guitar xD Sadly I doubt Lego will switch the legs now after having 2 cmfs and some sets with the long leg proportions. I hope for orange medium legs... at least those should be available one day. Then we can switch it to white hip pieces and custom print the round white body as well as shoes for Daisy... only Problem is Scrooge with his red details on the upper side of the legs - haven't found a customiser able to print there - but I prefer loosing those Details in exchange for much better proportions for all the Ducks, if neccessary. This should work with black legs for Minnie, too. Mickey will again be difficult without Dual moulding. Didn't think about that very much. To be honest I mostly care about the Ducks. Those are much more popular here thanks to a brilliant translation that adds much detph to the original texts :) -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

Oh, boy :D I´d love to get long legs with blue pants for Goofy. I have big problems removing the print from these feets without damaging the part, so it would be wonderfull to get it with less printing on it! -
10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
Gorilla94 replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I guess it is a matter of taste. To me it is just lazy for 4€. No Tatoo arms, a reuse of the old sword as only accessory... If the feeling of "having the complete thing" isn't relevant to many people, i wonder where the outrage over Mr. Gold came from... he wasn't even part of the official 16 figures in series 10 and nobody without knowing about him would look at your collection and ask "oh, how cool! A Viking, Abraham Lincoln, Gladiators, but where is a golden guy in a suit?". I didn't say there could not be for example a peasant with a medium flesh piglet or something like that as a cmf. It would be insanely popular yet not noticably missing from the castle for anybody - like the random pirate. A childrens toy Castle for 100€ is fine just having a Queen or King. A 350€ luxury product is questionalbe. Selling it seperately using symbols and colours that identify him clearly as the factions king (including the need to look for a reseller or go feeling for it) will feel insulting to more than a few potential customers.- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
Gorilla94 replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I severly doubt that. There was a poorly executed female pirate only made to take some of the cmf budget for the hat-hair-combo also used in the ideas set. It wasn't the captain missing in the set or something like that. If there is a specific lion castle king sold separately - and for a quite limited time - from the 350€ castle it would be the most stupid marketing decision since the Microsoft Ceo announced on stage that the xbox one needs permanent Internet connection because commercials are a central part of the console experience... What I could imagine is a random peasant reusing one of the new Farm animals in another colour or a knight.- 2,976 replies

DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Gorilla94 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Superman isn't expensive on Bricklink. I'd recommend getting a TLBM-Version, giving him dual moulded legs for the boots and getting the custom Cape with his Logo on it from capes4minifigures. The result is good enough to be a cmf. -

Maybe we will see something connected or at least inspired by the animated bathound movie? I mean, it is a movie for children, animals sell quite well in general, so...? -
Wasn't Maul killed in rebels?

I don't want to be annoying or something like that, but I was in exactly that situation back in 2015. What I did and would strongly recommend to anyone new/back in the hobby is to focus on what you really want. You will soon have an army of Batmen laying in a box, which pretty much nobody wants to buy, if you buy tons of DC sets. The mentioned Deadshot for example is still available for about 10€ including his brickbuild weapon. You can get him for a few euros at many flea markets, too. I also got some cmfs I knew would be exploding in price and than trade them in for some special figures like Davy Johnes... In the end I spend not that much money on my collection, I have only the stuff I really care about and it was fun hunting the figures... and space will become a problem faster than you can imagine ^^' -
What I worry about is the jaw hanging down loose or parts breaking, if I open or close it. Have to check how for example the wargs' jaws are constructed. Maybe we get it at some point. I mean we got 3 dwarfen figure-packs as well as war boars and goat mounts now in a quite short period of time.

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
Gorilla94 replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I hope for neutral chainmail and "middleclass" clothes including metal belts and so on. I can make a simplistic peasant design like in the fantasy castle sets within a short time and let them be printed on Lego pieces by 3rd party customisers for acceptable prices. The only thing the customisers I know are unable to do is metallic colours, so I want Lego to give us as much of that as possible.- 2,976 replies

That would be a cool figure indeed. Sadly I have doubts if the movable jaw would work with 3d printed parts. Painting a big fig with movable limbs perfectly clean would be a big challange, too. I am mostly hoping for accessory pieces like beards, weapons and so on, which work as 3d prints pretty fine. I found a few sites with stls for Lego pieces including the old castle dwarf beards :) Smoothing and modifing those for example for Dain Ironfoot will work. If necessary I'll do the same for Thror, too, if ripping the model directly from the game won't work.
-
That would be nice to get, indeed :) The largest challange for this seems to be searching for the correct data, because they are not called "Thror.obj" or stuff like that, but more random names... I'll give it a try, when I have more spare time... if it doesn't work, I'll try to model at least the beard by myself on Blender. Thankfully there is at least Gandalfs beard already uploaded in thingiversethat should be a good foundation in which to build larger dwarfen beards.
-
I just found some videos about ripping models from Lego games... If that works for the hobbit it should be quite easy to make good 3d-printed versions of several important accessory pieces like Thrors Beard, many dwarfen weapons , which Lego never released (Filis swords for example) ...

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
Gorilla94 replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
On top of it most figures were reused in other sets and didn't require special moulds... with the reuse of completely unfitting pirate Torso prints in the last creator caste as well as in the blacksmith set, I heavily doubt we will get 20+ figures with all sorts of great printing and helmet variants. I'd say 2 horses are save (maybe a gray recolour later reused in other sets) and a foal very likely.- 2,976 replies

I really like the new helmet. This and the female Thor one will make great female dwarf fighters. I just hope they make good chainmail Torso prints.

Gorilla94 replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I won't say I am out yet, but I highly doubt Lego manages to make the set good enough to be worth 350€ to me... my set price limit is until now 200€. There are always dramatically needed things to fix like the Pirates of Barracuda Bay ship with sails printed on just one side and the stickers in Kwik-E-Mart or Simpsons House, that must be replaced with expensive custom printed parts, if I don't want to have just the brickbuild "E" legt after a few years... in the end such sets are at least about 300€ to be ready for display... If Lego really makes a modular Castle in Parisian Restaurant-quality I will maybe buy it. Anyways there will for sure be some cool parts that will be bricklinked, if not.- 2,976 replies

I don't get it. And which is far more important for Lego: I won't get the sets XP The money I would have spent will go to other hobbies. -
DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Gorilla94 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
That is what I don't really get. Am I the only one with limited space?^^' I mean Marvel has for example so many versions of Iron man and none of them has the really needed arm printing (except for a silver version from a Toys'r'us pack)... We even have a Deadshot with arm printing. Now I am happy don't need another one, which would probably be less detailed. To me it seems that the expectations are just too high since TLBM have us huge amounts of Sets including even D-List villains like Egghead with unique moulds. -
Well, the rapping Lego-Stop-Motion Luke on youtube was a better Luke than the sequel nightmare x'D To be honest I am really dissapointed. The book of Boba Fett feels just so "Marvel like". "Cute" random sceene here. Cheap joke in unfitting situation there. Unnecessary cameo in between. Long fights that feel like the combatants are made out of gum. Objectively stupid or unfitting decisions to keep the plot going. Seriously: boba did not prepare a single emp granade against droids but smuggled a baby rancor into the city otherwise he would not have been that fast getting him. When Grogu has to save the Mando who gets crushed by a droid that is supposed to be exciting, I guess... I was just asking myself why the Mando doesn't simply activate his jetpack to slide away from it... Sending an assassin to deal with the syndicate leaders made Boba more pathetic than Jabba ever was. Jabba was at least unable to do stuff like this on his own. What hit me most was surprisingly the piggy guard's death. They were really simple figures. He spared their lives, so they were loyal. That's fine for a minor side character that doesn't even have speech understandable for the viewer... Killing them was logical. There was not much more to tell about them and other than the cyberteenagers they were likeable and trigger some sadness with their death... but the way they died hurts. It was so ridiculously stupid to send unarmored melee fighters alone out into a gang war where everyone else has a gun... it is hilarious that the criminals had the decency to fight them in close combat... But that two warriors let themself be pushed over a cliff was disrespectfull to these characters. At least they should have had a death like Lurtz in Lord of the rings.

To be honest I don't get this "DC always gets the short end of the stick"... We had the Lego Batman movie sets and 3 DC cmf lines delivering perfect highly detailed versions of Poison Ivy, Two face, Riddler, Bane... and many, many others including even c-list viallains. To be honest I think last years minifigure scarle dark knight Tumbler was by far the best super hero set in a while using techniques I could never have come up with. -
Ok... that ist very good for her or very bad for him... great, now I think he is too weak and slow, too xD
-
To be honest I don't have any problems with Boba being older, injured and less fast/strong than for example Fennec, who is like 25 years younger. Everything else would be ridiculous in my opinion. What I can't accept is his incompetence. By now I expect him to lose his helmet at the bus and watch the teenage cyborg power rangers looking for it during a whole Episode using all sorts of very "usefull" modifications ( the leg expanding instead of just normal kicking reminds me of a Simpsons parody: "I made lots of cool designs for batman's belt. Look! Here he can store his money, when he takes the bus")... Nobody of us would have gone into the building in episode 4 without at least sending the cyberpunk-children at the back door... It is ridiculous to assume this person survived that long in any other profession than with an easy desk job. In fact I really liked the Tusken plot until they got slaughtered by some amateurs. It would have been nice, if his big goal was to make sure the tribe was save by controlling the settlers. Now we get that pathetic cheap little revenge plot... The scene where he holds the little stick is stolen from Mickey's Cristmas Carol where Tiny Tim died...

Captain America's cowl mould? https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=19303&name=Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Mask&category=[Minifigure, Headgear]#T=C&C=77 That one would look great on a Black mask Minifig if the Faceprint adds teeth to the mask :)
