Thank you, I appreciate it! True, the electronics make up a large portion of the overall cost. Fortunately, some of those components can still be bought for a fair price second hand and additionally there are other brands offering structurally identical components. This is a great alternative for any MOC, especially considering the servo motors, which are still quite expensive even on the used market.

Sadly it looks like this is just part 2477 in red If you are referring to the parts near the door hinge, looking at the high-res images on the Finnish lego page I'm pretty sure this is also part 2477. The front independent suspension is made up of 4x 5977, which appeared first in the F1 sets, so I still consider them pretty rare. All in all a pretty nice parts pack, especially for the already discounted price some dealers offer. -

While filming for a MOC project I realized, that so far I haven't seen the G with the LBG rims from the AT-AT. I think black is the better fit, especially with the hub caps on. But the LBG ones give some nice contrast to the model -

Incredibly well thought out model. Iconic looks, lots of functions but also nice details in the engine bay and interior. The best part is the portal axles -
Cool model, a pretty minimalistic build with the main focus on its capability. That onboard shot was very cool Would love to see more use of onboard cams in truck trials, but I believe the added weight would be too big of a disadvantage

Phenomenal model, it looks very recognizable from most angles. I especially like how you mimicked the flow of lines on the bodywork in the rear and on the roof. The only part that could be improved in my opinion is the hood. The fenders of the original are a bit taller than the middle section of the hood, the vents are missing in your model and it would be nice if the hood was hinged in the front, as in the original. But of course this is a b-model, and there is always a little bit of compromise to be made. Overall great job!

So I got the G500 and before building it I had to try the new tires on the Defender (as requested by @nerdsforprez ). They fit without problems, there is no rubbing when steering or raising and lowering the air suspension and wheel articulation is still as great as it was with the stock tires. Here's a few quick pictures I took, what do you think?

Most likely. Perhaps TLG is still checking whether paper bags in this form are generally accepted before all factories finally switch over -
Then I would suggest to get rid of those 8-tooth gears near the differentials. They are going to break sooner rather than later if you plan to do some serious driving. What you could do is to use the new-type differential but with the red 28-tooth gear instead and mesh it with a regular 28-tooth gear. That way you'll have one gear transition less and a more robust drivetrain.

I've heard or read somewhere that apparently the same goes for sets sold in Australia. No idea why though -
Hi everyone, I would like to share with you my extensive mods of the set, which resulted in the slightly longer Defender 110 version with many RC and manual functions. I’ve worked a few years on it and during that time I checked this forum regularly for some inspiration. It was interesting to see what others have come up with. The RC functions are: All-wheel drive through 3 differentials Steering with Ackermann geometry and working steering wheel Signature front and rear LED lights Center, front and rear differential lockers with 4 individual locking modes Adjustable air suspension providing variable adjustment of ground clearance from 22mm / 2,75 studs up to 32mm / 4 studs Auto-compressor powering the differential lockers and air suspension, which automatically shuts on and off at fixed system pressures There’s also a detailed and spacious interior, which mostly keeps the RC functions hidden while providing additional manual functions: Working door locks on all 5 doors Adjustable and foldable front seats and completely foldable 2nd row Spacious loadspace Small details such as air vents, climate controls, storage compartments in all 4 passenger doors and between the front seats I am currently developing additional interior mods such as a 3rd row of seats, an optional 3rd seat or cabin walkthrough in the front and a panoramic roof. If you’re interested in seeing a more detailed presentation, additional pictures and a video you can check out my whole post here:

You're right, the part variety has indeed gotten better in recent years. But I'm missing a few more types of mudguard panels in DBG, there's only the ones from the Peugeot. Granted mudguards are very specialized parts, but they make color swapping a certain set or MOC very difficult without compromising on the looks.
