A few days ago bought a new LEGO set from a local store that has been in business for years with good reputation. The shopkeeper gave me a new set from the store and the box looked so shiny and perfect. I went home driving and handled my new toy with care. No overreacting with extra protection, but everything was done with general common sense. No force or compression should have occurred I found that at least a total of 3-4 pieces of the grey plates (8x6 and 8x4) for ground and roof are not straight, a little bit twisted, they couldn't lie flat and parallel with my smooth table. it doesn't affect a lot as you build up things though. However , is it a quality issue? degraded quality? or was it because of force caused by compression between other pieces inside before opening the box? When I first played LEGO in 90s, I remember in those time there wasn't any pieces like that.

learnt from experience, never use storage box with division

Here in my country , USD 1 for this, not the exactly the same one, but similar, however, the volume for each cell is smaller Last night, I played a set with approx 1000 pieces. I only sorted by color. Yes, it was quite painful at the beginning when I only sorted by color. However, how to sort by type? I don't understand. There are just I believe more than 50 different types of pieces and maybe many of a particular type only have 1-2 pieces. I don't understand how should I sort? Any experieced advice?? Thanks!! -

In addition, how can I keep the best condition of the minifigures? I remmeber when I was as a child playing LEGO, the print on the minifigures (eye, nose, mouth etc) often faded over time. Is it fine just rubbing them with dry cloth from time to time? How do you guys sort by type?? I think I 'll need MANY MANY storage plates if sorting by type.... Now I need only 8 or 9 storage box to do the sorting only, and for the small items, they'll be put into just one box. -

After washing and cleaning of the LEGO pieces, do I need to put them close to heater or just fine to put under UV to let them dry itself? In addition, I would like to ask for second opinion on if I can use detergent to clean my LEGO... As I know, sometimes detergent is picky, and not for everything, ???? -

A last question. The plastic storage box (made of PP) I purchased was not even wrong, it had bad plastic smell that persists, and some very tiny powder residue. I was so foolish and filled my LEGO pieces into it. Now I've thrown away the storage box. However, could it already contaminate the LEGO? Should I do anything to clean my LEGO -

Hi. The reason I use food container is that. Yes, I am not advanced. I only sort by colors, and for the big pieces, I will put them elsewhere, usually not a lot. Finer sorting? I thought of that, but I can't think of how "fine" I should do. I think the extra time spent on fine sorting doesn't worth that because in the near future, I will only do sets not more than 2000 pieces. And I am not advanced, what is MOC? -

Reasons are... They are mostly "deep", but they are not "broad" enough for those storage box, so after you've sorted the pieces, it's not as convienient to find out a single particular piece from the fully occupied cell. A single food storage box is always more handy, at least it's not easy, even if you are working with 3000 pieces sets, that they are fully filled for one box for one color, then there is always more space for your fingers to do the search work -
bought a new set of LEGO today, and bought a plastic storage box with dividers to help sorting. Very disappointing way of working with LEGO, storage box looks big but actually small, can't hold even 500 pieces, and even if you are working with sets of less than 500 pieces, it's very not convenient to find out a particular part from a full stored cell. You may need to take out all parts of a cell. I think the best way is to use individual food box, and purchase a number of such box of the same size, which is not too large, not too small, but already larger than any single cell in a storage box. Storage box is really for "storage" only , not good for finding a part or taking it out when you are building a set. Am I right? Or any better idea??

Is there any old sets not very much priced up?

what if I get a lot of missing pieces? who can prove and how can I ask for help in that case -
Yes, for example, 31077, doesn't seem like it can be compatible with other expert modular building
-
Sorry, my English is not very good. What did you mean by " "where where all the sections can be swapped around to create alternate versions of the building" .... Did you mean it's now getting more difficult to be matching or "consistent" between different sets of creator 3in1 building?
-
Am I advised to take any special lessons or online tutorials to help me get started creating my own building of my wish? At the moment, I am only able to buy sets and follow the instructions. And I am not an engineer or architect personally. Or should I learn and try to understand things by following the instructions of sets and brainstorming by myself??

Parisian Restaurant or Pet shop ? which one to buy?
ks6349 posted a topic in General LEGO Discussion
Which one will have a more consistent and matching look with most of the other Creator Expert modular buildings? Getting hard to find Pet shop now but I can still find it here locally at a deal. I personally love the appearance of Parisian Restaurant more than that of the Pet shop but my major consideration is if Parisian Restaurant will look very different or strange when it's put with other buildings ? What do you think???? -
Hi Malaysia! Are you Chinese or ,,, Malay? Yeah, 31065 is a great set ! However, I watched a youtube video review about them which said it had a lot of way it doesn't make sense. 31069 is a great so I will put it to my collection. I think 31026 is not totally retired and I will certainly get this set here for USD 70. It's a very great set, around 1000 pieces is just fine. Wish Creator 3in1 for building won't stop!!
-
I would like to know, in addition to 31026 , is there any Creator 3-in-1 set that is similar to 31026 which is not totally retired? 31026 has a lot of pieces while it doesn't have too a lot as that of the Creator Expert because I may not have that much time for 2000 or 3000 pieces. However, looks like there is not much building option for creator 3in1
-
USD 70 here, is it a normal price or priced up ? I am not super fans, I won't buy priced up stuff. I buy only I like and deals
-
yes you are right but the thing I like about 3in1 creator is that there is NO rear wall like the LEGO design in 80s and 90s where I can look at the room inside without having to take away the part. But the creator expert makes the building more looking like reality.

Yesterday I worked on a set of 400 pieces without any storage box help, it was already very messy and wasting too much time finding pieces, this is not fun. I've done a windows shopping for storage box, while there are too many choices, it's difficult to decide which kind is the best. What do you think ? Any experienced shared?

so it will NOT be brought to the market?

I mean the LED lights for creator expert of street views. Now look like they are from 3rd party but not the official LEGO. Does anyone know if LEGO has the intention of releasing official LED lights sets? I think they 've made battery and power officially , why don't they make lights as well. It will make the street look real amazingl

when will this set be available to the market???

Here in my country, the price of Downtown Diner approx USD 145 the price of Assembly square approx USD 215 In fact, I also like lego carousel 10257 , the lowest price I can find is USD 160 , quite surprisingly to me. In fact, I also like carousel very much, but is it a good price ? USD 160? will it retire this year?
