  1. I would vote again, but it won't let me.
  2. The one I have is the one without the black switch. At this point, I think the switch is going to get buried behind the driver which is why I was wondering which way to set it. The front motor is wired into it. Surprised there isn't a mark on the switch to tell which way is forward or backward.
  3. When I read the first sentence, that was the 1st thing that popped in my head. Nice to see I was right when I checked the link.
  4. Very nice building. A city can always have competing bookstores. You know though while leaving the exterior and a few changes to the interior this could make a very nice hardware store or an old general store type business.
  5. So the switch pulled towards the plug reverses the forward motor? Never did a double motor before and am in the process of building on myself.
  6. I still have this set sitting in a box somewhere waiting to get built. I really like this version though, the best I have seen so far. Is this 9 volt, Power Functions, or Powered Up? 1st picture looks like it has 9 volt wheels on the front, but the rest look battery powered and I see the IR receiver peeking out on others.
  7. I like the idea of a "Lego History" museum. That could be really cool. They could have printed poster pieces on the walls along with micro builds. If it is a bookstore, why can't it just be a bookstore or a bookstore with an apartment on top at most?
  8. Palace Cinema and Disney Train both are examples of stickers going across multiple pieces.
  9. I am sure the white base plate is associated with the arctic theme stuff.
  10. So is there a release date yet?
  11. Very nice. It's to bad that Lego doesn't release something like this as an ideas set.
  12. I still think it can be done in the tender and look just as nice as the Disney one. Waiting on a few pieces and then I can start building. Have to decide if I want the handrails on the side or not though.
  13. I don't think they will go 8 wide either, as the curves and their goofy switches are already tight enough for the 6 wides.
  14. I agree with you about figuring this stuff out, but not tonight. I can't imagine putting a battery box and the IR receiver in there without gutting the whole interior of the locomotive. Currently my battery box appears to be just a bit forward of yours, with the rest of it mostly unchanged. The only modifications have been the PUp stuff and a redesign of the fuel tanks underneath because I didn't like how it looked after adding the train motor. It appeared cut off or something, so I made it a stud longer and balanced it out by adding a couple old light gray part# 6091's to the rear side. Now it looks much better.
  15. Unless there is some aftermarket light that can be used, I think I am just going to skip the headlight on this. Although then you would probably need another battery for that too. I think I could make the top headlight work with the PUp lights, but it seems like a waste of the 2nd light and just creates to much wiring to cram in the back, which would cause me to lose the crew member back there.
  16. Well thanks for the pictures, they were helpful.
  17. Any reason you had to raise that yellow 2x2 tile and what did you do with the 2nd light? Now that I pulled the pieces on the top light apart, couldn't you stick another yellow technic brick behind there then plug the light into the 2nd one, and replace the 2 2x2 yellow tiles with a 4x2 yellow tile? I am guessing you would then have to lose the red 2x4 plate though.
  18. Is there an easy way to light a Powered Up 10020 without changing the locomotive front to much? Clearly the lower light can't be lit and the PUp lights have two bulbs, any suggestions on attaching it to the front light and what to do with the other one.
  19. So about when do they usually announce the next modular again?
  20. I assume that traditional model RR decals would work on the corrugated pieces. Maybe Lionel sized ones?
  21. I could be wrong as I am clearly not an expert on steam locomotives, but shouldn't the Disney train be wood fueled as opposed to coal? And if so, maybe someone can show a good example of simulating a wood load on top of the battery box in the tender?
  22. For the gas prices maybe find someone to print your numbers on the bricks or use the numbered 1x1 tiles mounted on the side of a brick with studs on the side. You could also get a sticker set for set# 7993
