Forgot all about it - was just going to bed and saw your post which reminded me. Thanks. For reference to those asking earlier - I spent my $209 in a combination of PAB Standard, PAB Best Seller, BAM, and a couple of cheap sets. Just hit the threshold and it qualified for the GWP. So it looks like both Pick A Brick and BAM qualify for the promo.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

The "Standard" bricks never went away that I noticed. When the service was paused they were all changed to out of stock, and not removed. If you didn't use the button to show out of stock then it would have appeared as if they weren't listed. I am in Australia - other country sites may have been different (although US and UK both had them OOS when I checked a couple of weeks ago). -
Ongoing Transformers Rumors and Discussion

I had absolutely no interest in this model. But after seeing it I think I may actually get it. Thanks. Worked for me in Firefox. -
I would note that for dual moulded legs on BaP they are AU$4.84, while the BaM online is $3.33 for a figure. So at least you can get a significant saving there if the ones you want are there, along with a free head, torso, hair/hat, and accessory. Although potentially Bricklink would be cheaper for the legs.

LEGO Dungeons & Dragons - one step closer?
timemail replied to AmperZand's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I don't know how popular it is, but it was recently in Stranger Things which brought it to many people's attention. My wife who has nothing to do with anything fantasy or Lego actually listens to a comedy D&D podcast so there are audiences getting exposed to it through other means at the moment. I would likely buy multiple boxes of Dragonlance or RA Salvatore's Forgotten Realms CMF figures. The Heroes of the Lance and Drizzt and his mob would make great generic fantasy figures that would suit castle or fantasy builds. -
LEGO Creator 2022 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

It is an interesting theory. Over here the Castle and Pirate ship are both $160 while the Viking will be $180. Neither Castle nor Pirate Ship were exclusive to Lego. They both had retail releases. Too early to tell for the Viking ship though. That being said Star Wars pricing over here is very inconsistent with sets that are cheaper than a set in one country being significantly more expensive than the same set over here. I would love to know what is going on with their prices. Sometimes I think it is just some great conspiracy from them to learn how much people are willing to pay by comparing country to country sales to choose the best price to maximise profit. I would think that could be hard to do, but they must have data based on previous years to account for regional differences. Other times I think they employ a lot of incompetent people. -

I would be happy with the smaller one. I can see a $380 set having 20 minifigs, but a $1000 won't have 60. I would rather buy 3 $380 sets for more minifigs and hope that I can work out how to expand the castle as it is. For me - I don't need extra bricks, I need more castle minifigs and the like rather than some extra bricks.- 2,976 replies

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
timemail replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Zoth33 noted the black falcon torso and legs is available. Looking at the US site you can see it has been moved into Bestseller bricks rather than being in Standard bricks. It will be interesting to see how different Bestsellers will be on a regional basis. It may differ based on warehouse size, consumer appetites, etc. Hopefully if they do have different ranges across regions those Bestsellers in one region remain Standard warehouse as well so they are available worldwide. -

Interesting. They are a Bestseller part rather than a Standard part now. I wonder if that will happen worldwide. -
Another major part of this is they have temporarily shut down the Standard warehouse. All bricks from Standard have been set to out of stock, which would possibly account for most of the 75%. They are not actually out of stock, but ostensibly have been set that way until the warehouse has caught up on existing orders (and hopefully make some changes to make it more efficient). I find that the vast majority of my orders come from the standard warehouse rather than what is now the Bestseller warehouse. Being stingy I always used to compare prices on both (old PAB and BAP) to get the cheapest bricks, and so know that most of what I bought was not previously available on PAB. I am assuming here that PAB is now Bestseller, however in practice those bricks may have changed. It may be hard to compare different region warehouses also. Currently the North America warehouse has about 200 less bricks available than the European warehouse so it could be a regional thing. Funnily UK has 3 bricks which AU don't have despite being the same warehouse (I think). A red car bonnet, a bright green flower 1x1, and a dark azure 2x2 flat tile. Those three are not available at all in Australia, not even when showing out of stock, so there are probably still system issues they are sorting out. The site did say they were expecting the Standard warehouse to reopen in May, although I can't see where that message is now so who knows what is happening.

I almost had this problem (or not exactly this problem). I had all my minifigures ready to order, went to pay for them, and saw the amount was significantly less than what I should have paid. I edited the order and realised that the system had stripped out all the legs, torsos, and shields. So it was going to charge me less, but for stuff I did not want (heads and hair/helmets). The only reason I actually noticed was that it brought me below the free postage threshold and I was checking why. It appeared that it would let me check out with the incomplete minifigures, but since the legs, torsos and shields were all I wanted I just gave up. Not saying that happened to you, but it is quite possible. I would note in my case the cost was reduced when the parts were stripped out, although it looks like in your case you paid full price.

For those that struggle to find this (like me) it is under the "Studio" Menu in Bricklink. Prices in USD (as that is what it is showing me) are: Brickwest Studios: $349.00 1950s Diner: $129.99 Train Station: Studgate: $399.99 Winter Chalet: $199.99 Working Waterfall: $229.99 Space Troopers!: $199.99 Mountain View Observatory: $319.99 Exploratorium: $299.99 Modular Construction Site: $319.99 Depending on the conversion to AUD I may look at getting the Winter Chalet, but I suspect it will dwarf all other Winter Village sets. Pricing seems a bit up there. The Diner and Space Troopers! look really over priced to me based on the pictures. It is often hard to tell density of a set from just a couple of pictures though.

LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
timemail replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don't think it really matters what thresholds they put popular GWP at in Australia. They never have enough to last any decent amount of time. This will be gone before one sun comes up. -
There is a toggle button to show out of stock items. The big elephant and head are there, but out of stock (trunk is in stock). Also out of stock are the deer, reddish-brown horse, female big cat (mountain lion?), and a heap of others. I don't see the white bulldog though.

This torso is now available (in beta in some regions) in the Build-a-mini section of the Lego site (which was mentioned with some more pictures in the Lion Castle rumour thread). Nice to see some more castle figures (and a shield) available for those without a Lego store nearby. -

Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully that comes to Australia soon. They were not available here that I am aware of, and I need to get a couple of dozen of each of them I think.- 2,976 replies

There is also the fawn from Snow White's Forest Cottage, but that is discontinued, plus Disneyfied so not a "real" Lego animal.
-
This thread is not about defensible positions - it is about unpopular opinions which don't have to (and often don't) have any logical backing in the real world. I would love for Lego to move completely away from Disney and work on supporting smaller IPs through a lot of one offs - random tv shows, popular books, cult classic, as well as doing more non-IP based sets - everything from cavemen through to futuristic spacemen (with a small s). It would make no financial sense at all, but I would certainly enjoy the company more, even though a large proportion of the sets would not interest me. Keeping in mind that large proportion would be replacing other sets not of interest to me anyway.

AFOL Dissertation Participants Needed!
timemail replied to 1903093's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Quick point from me. I think it would be better if you define what "Engage with Lego" means for the purpose of this survey. I almost gave up at the first engagement based question (Q7). Engage with Lego to me means contacting the Lego Company either through website, surveys, phone, or emails, whereas you are intending it to mean (I assume) purchasing, building with, designing etc. with ?physical? Lego bricks. Not sure if you intend for visiting of Lego forums, building using virtual tools etc. as "Engaging with Lego". There might be some basic assumptions made by people which affect what your survey results (especially around frequency of engagement). That said the subsequent questions did to an extent clear up what I think you mean, so completed the survey based on my assumption mentioned above, and only my interactions with physical bricks for the question about frequency of engagement with Lego. -
My castle apparently shipped on Friday. I'm in Australia, and it shipped from Victoria, so I imagine I will see it some time in the next two weeks. Hopefully this week however deliveries take a loooong time these days so I won't hold my breath. Good luck to any other Aussies waiting on this, hopefully you will see it some time soon.

Rumoured New In-House Theme Discussion
timemail replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Medieval Castle also has coconuts, plus a great opportunity to include some animal molds with a migratory swallow. -
I don't mind service fees and the like too much. Keep in mind in Australia we have to spend $149 for free shipping anyway, so when I do a B&P order it is normally has to be for a large amount of things. I think people have been spoiled with getting a few pieces at low price, which would likely have been costing Lego money, so if we have to pay what it actually costs to make the pieces, transport the pieces, store the pieces, pick the pieces, and post the pieces then I think that is fair enough. It would be good to get "Best Sellers" from the non-best sellers store to avoid part of those fees though when most of what I order is not a best seller. The website design I like better (parts properly sorted so I can find what I want e.g. all heads shown is a blessing) although I still want more parts on the page and better navigation between pages. I just hope the selection gets back to what it was before including having new parts (I don't care if they are delayed, as long as they get there eventually). Even something like a 1 x 2 brick has had a heap removed from the old site. They were available in Australia a couple of days before the change, and now are down to 7 colours (and not including many available colours like white, blue and yellow). I tend to use B&P due to the range from one place, and the prices are on par to what I would pay when considering multiple overseas postage costs (Bricklink prices at Australian stores always seem to be way over what it costs from B&P and overseas so I only get from there things I really need in a hurry). If the basic range is not fixed then I would need to stop buying from there, but hoping the reduced range is only temporary.
