  1. I buy about 30-40 sets per year, and I had my first ever missing piece last week. Although about 3 days after it was missing I found it in the kitchen. I have used the missing bricks section quite often though. Mainly due to damaged sticker sets, although I have also had about 5 replaced large transparent pieces and a couple of large black pieces replaced due to scratching. I also had one piece which looked like it had either melted, or didn't have enough plastic in the mold to make the complete piece.
  2. This is the key for me. Personally I don't think an entire line should be removed because of the one person who created that line. There is plenty of good that has come to people because of Harry Potter, and the bad hasn't been due to the property itself, but the person behind it. My apologies if I am not getting the whole story on this - it is not something I have followed in any real depth and I may be mistaken in my view. Lego however are positioning themselves as committed to LGBTQIA+ and no matter what they go forward and do, the fact that they keep Harry Potter makes it all seem like lip-service. We want to look like we are allies, as long as it doesn't hit our bottom line too hard. It seems more like what they are doing is trying to get some quick commercial gains through positioning as an ally while not actually taking any real stand (not that I would expect anything else from any commercial entity). Any other company I would say they should leave it. Lego I say it should go and they should remove it if they really want to gain any credibility for their social responsibility.
  3. Thanks for the advice. I may have to drop back in on Monday and check the front ones. I didn't change the order (although it must have been slightly changed as I didn't grab all of mine from the front). I guess I may give blind bags another go after all.
  4. Finally have seen these in Australia. It is the first time I have ever bought a CMF blind bag as opposed to just getting them from ebay/Bricklink. I am terrible at the feel test so I basically just got reasonably random ones rather than feeling for what I wanted. Was after Foal girl, toucan lady, dog man, purple sword woman, and bard. Bought 5 on the off chance I would get the ones I wanted. From a new box I managed to get purple sword woman, 2 x toucan lady, 2 x foal girl. Went back the next day, box didn't look like many more had gone. Bought 2 more and got 1 x toucan lady, 1 x foal girl. I really did want multiple foals so it has worked really well for me. Will try to swap one of the toucan ladies for a bard or dog man (the store has a swap system, but no-one else had purchased any to add to it), and go to Bricklink or ebay for the others. I think I have exhausted my luck with these and won't bother buying the blind bags again. I would have been quite annoyed if I had have gotten 3 lots of 2 minifigs I didn't want which was much more likely. Even though this worked really well for me it has showed me that unless these are actually marked I am probably better off with other marketplaces to get what I want.
  5. For me it is not about limited space, but I have only been collecting Lego for a short time, while you may have a Deadshot with arm printing, I would be more than happy with one without arm printing if it was in a recent set. The biggest issue is the way Lego release is that they have to account for new customers like me every year or so, since they have no way to order back catalogue items. I am not saying that they should but I am saying that they need to keep releasing and re-releasing popular things, or those of us new to Lego miss out, and Lego miss out on new customers. Lego sets are generally not aimed at AFOLs, but at new customers. Iron Man would be the Marvel equivalent of the Star Wars X-Wing or the City Police Station. Any Marvel fan would need to get it regardless of when they came into the hobby. I personally would love for DC to re-release the full Justice League since I don't have any of their minifigures besides Batman. That being said whatever DC sets currently come out are going to be bought by me as I have so few DC sets already.
  6. I think that they would weigh a lot of the bricks to be honest. Surely there isn't some guy there literally counting out 200 1x1 tiles or similar when they could just put them on a scale and give you slightly more than they would weigh. I always assumed that was why you normally get a few extra of the items that you order in large lots to account for minor discrepancies in weight. With the precision that Lego supposedly use for their pieces weight should be an accurate indicator of quantity. Then again they could be machine sorted into amounts of 50/100/200, but if that was the case I would expect them just to drop the bag they were sorted in into your delivery rather than chucking them all loose into one bag. I wonder if anyone in here knows how the order picking is actually done. Certainly they don't seem to weigh the total order at the end although they could easily work it out - even Bricklink has this feature. I have had a few large errors (including receiving most of someone else's order once) which would have been picked up otherwise. My errors tended to be entire items missing. I had my first delivery where I received less of an item than I ordered where I was 2 1x1 round tiles short when normally I get a couple extra. Note to self to just order a few extra of tiles and bricks rather than exact amounts to not be missing what I need for a MOC in the future. Wtih regards to extra or missing items I also assume they pick multiple orders at once and on occasion human error puts the bricks in the wrong bag. My order from 4th January shipped on Monday, my orders from 24th and 28th of January which include all the new animals and expensive saddles are still In Warehouse. Hopefully I will be surprised to have my orders just rock up like Hoth Rebel's have.
  7. It says Bricks & Pieces purchases are taking about 5-6 weeks to be delivered. I wish that was the case. What you have suggested about 5-6 weeks to be shipped is a lot more likely. In Australia 5-6 weeks for delivery is what I hope to get in normal delivery periods. Best for me was 4.5 weeks.
  8. This topic may help you. https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/1188-the-eb-glossary/
  9. Definitely want to get 2 art sets for Joker and Batman. Not fussed about the rest. I am really hoping they make them in similar quantities to the last lot and we get similar discounts when they try to sell them all out. I want to pick these up at about 40% off. Otherwise I think I will have to give them a miss, although I will be very disappointed if that does happen.
  10. Has anyone else gotten parts for 1c in their last few orders? I did an order in October and got 4655372 - Brown hoods for 1c each (instead of 61c). Last weekend I did another order and got the 6357152 - Black angler fish for 1c (instead of $2.04). In both cases it showed as the normal price when adding them to the bag, but when checking the order after it was placed it shows up on the bottom of my order as a discount. I did try ordering the hoods again on this order but paid full price for them this time. I was wondering if this happened to anyone else. I don't know if it is Lego giving out bonuses, a price error on another item which causes a need for an adjustment to bring the total price of the order to what was quoted in the basket, or something else.
  11. Did anyone think to ask them how to get the stickers back on the sticker sheet when you dismantle it? If I can't do this I certainly won't be buying this set.
  12. I know this is a late reply, but mine were crumpled badly. I have had this issue with stickers and instruction books quite a lot lately (generally on small sets where they are loose in box). I always use Bricks and Pieces (replacement parts on the Lego homepage for those who don't know) and get replacement ones sent out. Normally when they send them from there they put a small piece of cardboard in to stop them from being damaged. I have not had any issues with the replacement ones. So if you haven't done so order new ones through BAP. I hope that if this happens enough they would realise what poor quality they were sending out. I just wish I had known of this service earlier for all the damaged stickers I received in the past. It really does reflect poorly on the quality of what is supposed to be the premium product.
  13. I am new to using B&P so my word is certainly not gospel (and I would not neccesarily identify any BAP piece by sight). https://nostalgic-wilson-b2026b.netlify.app/index.html The above link may help if you are looking for a particular part. You can view a number of minifig pieces (e.g. sort by all torsos) that are on BAP. It says it was last updated 18 November. I will note that just because it is on this site doesn't mean it is available. Many of them are out of stock or zero price.
  14. Generally you can't. Some BAM pieces are on B&P but that is mainly as they are in other sets. I have never seen a BAM exclusive on B&P.
  15. I have never been missing a piece after hundreds of sets. I have had a few replacements (mainly bent or creased stickers or scratched transparent pieces) which Lego have replaced no issues. I have had plenty of little pieces missing when I get to a step but It is always amazing where I find them. Stuck inside tyres, in the back of other pieces, right in front of my face. I do occasionally skip a step as I tend to build based on the picture now and sometimes miss a change, but at the end of a bag you can always tell if this has happened based on the left over pieces. The extras are that consistent in the bags for me. When I first started I would first colour sort the bag and then get all the pieces for a step aside and then place them. I didn't make any mistakes when I did that. I no longer do that as I have become more advanced a builder, and can more easily recognise the parts in a big pile, but I would recommend it for new people. That and always keep your pieces on a table or a tray with a lip to avoid knocking them off.
  16. I have had similar once due to time differences. The Lego website updates at 0000 AEST which for me is 2330 ACST. I did an order between 2330 and 0000 which was double VIP, and picked up a set technically released the next day. In my case it had shown the double points when I did the order, but they had taken it off after. They added them back after an email with no issues.
  17. 6 is a bit rich for my blood. I just picked up 1 of the Sith and will likely try to do the same here. I was able to get it at 60% off, so hoping for similar around this one (although I suspect retailers will order less given how much they had to discount them). I almost bought a second Sith in the hope I would be able to build one of the Batman ones with it (and a minor BaP or Bricklink order). I figured the colours would be similar. I will be kicking myself if this is the case.
  18. That would be my most wanted set at the moment. My two year old literally walks around singing Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Batman ... Train. All the time. He likes Batman, and trains, and would love them together. Not sure that is a bright side for me. Does that mean it will be the same size as the previous art pieces but with an extra few hundred 1x1 rounds? The previous set I got was 3400 pieces for $200. This one may just be the same size but with an extra $40 on the price tag.
  19. Thanks for the tip. Sold out in SA (or no stock received yet), but able to pick it up on Amazon AU price match.
  20. I do agree. I hate being given Pepsi when I order Coke and return it every time. That being said the benefit to having your company being THE company must be greater than being unknown. I would think that Google would rather any internet search being called Googling than being called DuckDuckGoing whether it was through their engine or not. In terms of Lego, if people go into a shop and ask where the Legos are and are shown generic construction blocks because they have no Lego then sure Lego may lose a sale. But if they have Lego that is where they will be taken. The consumer may buy a random brand set due to price or theme or something else but if they really want Lego most people would be able to tell that the one which says Lego is the one they want. If a store was actively promoting Megablocks as Lego that is a complete other thing and should be cracked down on. IP infringement by companies is a separate thing to a trademark being used in the common vernacular by regular people.
  21. When it comes down to it language constantly changes and evolves and a single company certainly isn't going to change it at their will. I mean many people speak English, yet there are many variations between countries, states, provinces etc. This variation is both to how it is spoken, how it is written, and how words are used or formed. In reality it is a testament to the product that it is used to describe all bricks by many people and surely that would be of more benefit to the company than being a company whose brand is simply not known. If some people see a Lego as being a single brick, and Legos being multiple bricks then so be it. Is it really that confusing that we don't know what people are talking about or can't ask a clarifying question. I think it is just standard pedantry which is often seen on the internet. I would note that I come from a country that shortens or lengthens so many words that it really doesn't matter to us what a company thinks, many companies realise that what is important is any good publicity, and if your brand doesn't suit your environment, then adjust your brand to suit. McDonalds is a great example where much of their branding here is now Maccas simply because that is how they are known. If you try to force your customers to change rather than accepting that sometimes you need to change then you are going to fight a losing battle. Edit. Beyond the screenshot earlier I haven't seen anything from Lego trying to stop people misusing their name (protecting their IP from other companies is another matter). I suspect this is more fans trying to change others behaviour rather than Lego trying to change it.
  22. Legos is common where I am (South Australia) for any building brick. A supermarket called Woolworths here recently had a generic building brick giveaway which everyone who I know was referring to Woolworths/Woolies Legos. Oh. And they all pronounce it Lay-go / Lay-gos - I have never heard it pronounced correctly from anyone here. I always call it Lay-go but don't put the S on the end. I would note that I don't know anyone else who collects Lego as a hobby so the people I am referring to are all non-Lego fans. There are many brand names used to refer to a product type over here (e.g. Texta = marker, Esky = cooler box, Band-Aid = sticking plaster, and the list goes on).
  23. It is a good set for a good price. I have three which help my little ones with spelling and sounds. I have them sorted in letter groups for them e.g. OO, EA, LL on 1x2s and others on 1x1s so they can put words together. There are 3 x M, 2 x A, E, I, O, T, S, R, L, and N.
  24. They come in a "full" set. Technically full although there are no W tiles - you are supposed to use the M upside down and it looks terrible. If you don't care about W though they look good.
  25. I just checked my sheep (for same reason - future castle build) - I have 20 loose in a plastic bag which were with a heap of other pieces. Not tightly packed but loose. None of mine have any blemishes on them. They have been sitting in the bag since the sheep were first available, and I have been taking things out of the bag every now and then so they do get stirred around a bit, but there has been no transfer of any kind. I must say that I have recently started using replacement parts to get any of my damaged parts (and bent sticker sheets) replaced. We pay a premium for Lego so we might as well ensure we get a premium product. I have never had any issue with getting the damaged stuff replaced. The main culprit for me is trans windshield type pieces which are easily scratched and harder to replace from my meagre collection. If it is a common brick I tend to ignore it, however if I have one damaged part in a set that needs replacing I tend to get all the damaged pieces in that set replaced. So yeah, I would consider contacting customer service about it.
