  1. He's just an alternative version (Every character has a bizillon of those). And he seems to be more based on his classic apperance what with the use of the cold gun.
  2. I really don't think we can expect a correlation between this Marvel 75 Image and any new figures/sets we'll get. Just like those equally awesome DC drawings, we know that the artists have artistic freedom to draw what they want for the most part--which is why on the DC image we saw many variations of characters, and many of them won't be actual figures. This is more of a cool image of what the line could be; not what it will be (at least not now). Nothing more.
  3. I think we should be clear that that wasn't Captain Cold's fault...it was the writers fault... There are prelim photos (Which is what Hulk_Smash saw), game photos, and then obviously lots of comic photos. The 52 villain reference everyone is talking about stems from the already seen Sinestro figure, and the game designs of Grodd and Manta, which appear in their 52 costumes (Although I have to admit Grodd looks basically like he always does).
  4. I think it's more likely to see sets from the more "risky" movies like Wonder Woman and Ant Man actually. Like Guardians of the Galaxy, which itself was considered risky, I think it's more likely that the studios (Marvel/DC) would be promoting more the movies that are not a sure thing, since they need the extra bump. We didn't get any Thor 2 or Captain America 2 sets (unfortunately), but it was a sure thing that even without Lego promoting it to kids, the movie was going to be a hit. I think that DC and Marvel are move likely to promote and request sets for their more risky ventures to build promotion.
  5. Ah, yes--Electro was on that shirt, I remember seeing pictures of it in the Lego email updates (Whatever they're called). I'd be fine if we got a Classic Electro in one of these new sets. Although I think the figure way overdue is a Classic Green Goblin. Of any of the Marvel villains, I think he may be the one we need the most right now...that and of course more X-Men (Any of them at this point).
  6. Rumor (Actually I think it's been confirmed) is the "new dino" is supposed to be a genetic mix of a Tyrannosaurus, a Velociraptor, a snake and a cuttlefish! Called the Diabolus Rex; it was made to raise attendance at the park--and dangerous running ensues. Ego it'll be very scary! I think it would look great in Lego too. I hope we get some nice new molds for this line too, since I don't feel that brick built dinos would work well; mainly for structure and playability. I'd rather have molded figures than ugly half-technic creatures--which is very much how they'd turn out.
  7. I think the store pre-orders are more hit and miss. I've only ordered online pre-orders from Gamestop since I really don't want to enter an actual Gamestop, but I've heard stories like yours where no figures coming with the game, and then I've also heard of people going to Gamestop for their games and coming out with two, three, four or more figures--they just asked the workers and were handed them in bulk. Something similar to this happened to me (If I remember right, it was a while ago). I had preordered LB2; and I think my mom also preordered it for me as a gift (Not knowing I did the same, obviously)--mine didn't come with the Lex Luthor and her's did; so I just returned mine. Too bad this preorder is not from Walmart; since they wisely packaged the game and figure together, which just fixed this whole problem. Either way, I myself am really hesitant to preorder LB3 without Gamestop actually showing that they are giving out Plastic Men. They've not shown anything about it online whatsoever; but they just updated the cover photo and release date. It doesn't help that Lego/TT keeps posting on Facebook about the preorders rewards. Worst case would just be buying the fig on the aftermarket.
  8. Gosh I hope that's not the case! New 52 Captain Cold is just terrible (As are most New 52 designs). I really hope he's just the classic version; and I'll be very disapointed if he is New 52. But...I could totally see that happen.
  9. Captain COLD!* If this turns out to be correct, this will easily be the best DC wave ever! So to clarify the Grodd set will have: Flash, Batman, Wonder Woman; Grodd and now Captain Cold? That number seems on par with similar sets we had this wave like Hulk Lab Smash. *Granted I bet he won't have boots...I'm keeping this up as long as you can Lego... ---- Spiked black hair is interesting, especally for someone whose flying the Javelin. It could be Nightwing again perhaps? Or maybe someone like Superboy or something. There's not too many options I suppose for who it could be, at least not with that style of hair.
  10. I don't feel it would be really difficult to have Manta's helmet allow a minifigure head inside; and I hope it does actually. It would just add more playability to the figure as a whole; plus give us a new African head (Granted another male; females are very much lacking in that department, but that's a whole other issue). There's so many other Lego helmets that fit figure heads, so it's not too much of a stretch to think they could make one that would work. As for Flash, I'm not expecting him to be different in this new set. And I doubt that he's a place-holder for Zoom; since having two Flash foes without Flash is just crazy. Flash doesn't seem to look different in LB3 than the one we just got, so I expect him to be exactly the same; which means no boot printing...maybe someday, like years down the road we'll get a correctly designed Flash. It is interesting though that Flash seems to be included in yet another high end set. I mean we got him in a $30 set, so it's a bit interesting to find out that he's in yet another expensive set; especally one that's actually more than his first appearance.
  11. Because flowers are beautiful...duh. Although I will add that I think we should change the banners for seasons/themes more often. It feels like this one has been up there for years.
  12. That's even better...at least for my wallet! It would make sense for Brainiac and Darkseid to be in the same set--since that's most likely how it'll end up in the game. I think it's more likely that it was Cyborg you saw rather than a Drone. With both major villains in one set, along with everything else, they really don't need henchmen. And the amount of attention Cyborg gets these days makes it likely he'd show up. That Hawkman is awesome! Hopefully he's the one we get, even if he has those Pharaoh's Quest wings. Really, I think it's time for a new wing mold though, since those wings just look weird some times. They look far better in the game since they're bent a bit. -- I pulled some of these images from the Game thread, which show us what the sets and figures will most likely look like. @Hulk_Smash; does this look familar? It does have the offical Lego look...ergo ugly technic and no landing gears!
  13. Wow, this sounds like it'll easily be the best wave yet! The Invisible Jet and the Javelin in the same wave! Never would have expected that! Hopefully New 52 Wonder Woman also shows up, since she looks spectacular in the game shots. I am a bit disapointed with all the Batmen being included, but granted that is expected--however I think the list of new heroes/villains/and their vehicles more than make up for it. I cannot wait to get more Legion of Doom figures like Manta, Sinestro, and Grodd. Hawkman is a big surprise; so I hope Hawkgirl is in the pipeline too, since I always loved her on the Animated show. And both Grodd and Darkseid being big-figs is a surprise too. I'm assuming Grodd will look like his appearance in the game, as we've seen. Although I am sad that he won't have his epic purple cape! I am worried about Darkseid however; I hope to the Lego Gods that he's not in his New 52 appearance, no matter how likely that seems. That look is grotesque; and he's always looked better in his more simple comic/Animated outfits. Heck I'd buy Animated sets all day every day. Cannot wait for this wave to come out. He said it was the shape of the old republic set, not the size (Although I wouldn't expect it to be that big anyways, what with everything else in the set); ergo it's in the shape of a manta ray. And it is a bit of a surprise that there's no Cyborg--I was sure he'd turn up.
  14. You are right that there's no chance they'd base the sets off these animated movies (Which are always direct to video, and not shown on TV); they just are not popular enough; at least not in comparison to TV shows or Lego's game itself as inspiration. Although I have to say sets based on Assault on Arkham are even more unlikely--I've not yet seen it, but apparently it's easily one of the most violent DC animated movies (Lately all the DC animated movies seem to be way more violent than they used to be; or frainkly need to be; by the way). We'll most likely get an Aquaman if we get Black Manta, although I'd doubt he would be different then the last one we got. --- But speaking of Plastic Man; why is there still no mention of him on Gamestop.com? Lego keeps throwing out that he's the pre-order fig for the game, but there's no mention whatsoever about it on Gamestop--I don't think it's a good idea to pre-order the game for Plastic Man until he is actually advertized on the site. I don't want to get ripped off somehow by ordering too soon...that very much seems like something Gamestop would do.
  15. Regardless of what symbol is used, it's still an awesome build by itself--there can never be enough war-elephants out there! Although I have to admit I find the elephant's arm-band hilarious.
  16. I bet Darkseid will end up in the position similar to Galactus in the Marvel game; where we fight Brainiac/Loki for the majority of the game, and then a larger threat that requires everyone comes at the end (Darkseid/Galactus). I don't remember where I heard this, but I think the JLA and Legion of Doom are said to team up at some point? Not sure. Or Darkseid is just a major boss battle at some point. No doubt the game will take us to Apokolips anyways.
  17. No offence at all, although if you didn't catch the quote...then we may have a member who's not seen the Lego Movie! There he is! Get Im' boys! Well obviously there's going to be a lot of people who play Minecraft and a lot who don't. Even though it's based for Minecraft fans, the sets should also appeal to non-players. Lego is generally very successful with this task, but in this case it seems that while it appeals to some fans for it's accuracy, it doesn't appeal to non-players because it's accuracy means a lack of detail and bland bricks. I've never played Minecraft; but if the set looked more interesting I may buy it; a person does not have to know the source materal to like or dislike a set based off it.
  18. Hey, hey, hey! That's a suggestion; they have to put that on there!
  19. Then that'd be one waste of a big-fig! There's so many characters that we don't have (but should) who could use the big-fig mold. I'd rather see those before I see an obscure (And let's be honest, basically useless) variant of Martian Manhunter (Whom I'm assuming has a big-fig for his "normal" form in game for no other reason than to include more big-figs; similar to some characters in the Marvel game). Plus we already have two other giant green characters in big-fig form!
  20. That's seems very unlikely...granted it's still disturbing! Most likely Grodd would either be a reprinted version of the Chima gorillas, the CMF one, or a new big figure akin to his appearance in Lego Batman 3.
  21. I never saw the prelims that everyone seems to be comparing these too, but those must have been horrible, because while these are apparently better then those first images, they still look absolutely terrible. These builds are very basic, boring, and overpriced. I feel like you could make 90% of the sets with random Pick-a-Brick parts! I don't understand the love for these whatsoever.
  22. There was a short and rather forgettable scene near the beginning of the film with a cannon (It was in the movie for less then a minute). Most likely it was included to either try and mesh two scenes together or more likely it was added just to increase the play features. Frankly, it's really impossible for Lego to accurately depict Knowhere in a $40 set, so I don't find it strange that they added in some non-movie things.
  23. I actually find this to be the most likely of all the sets. Yes the minifigure selection may be off, but I'd be shocked if we didn't get Brainiac in this next wave. He's the main villain of the game and is promoted often. Heck, at the LB3 game panel at Comic Con, many voice actors carried large brick-built figs of the characters they voiced, and Brainiac was one of them; they were all accurate to their game apperance (Including Brainiac's lack of leg printing) and many of the other characters are also likely to be seen; such as the new Wonder Woman. Of any of these new villain characters, Brainiac seems like he should be a must.
  24. That's a cool list, if true. It does seem a bit too much of a fan service to be realistic, considering how much Batman is thrown at us; although that being said, I'd be very happy if those are the sets we get. The only set that seems really out there however is the Darkseid one, since we've seen nothing promoting him from the game; whereas we've seen tons of Brainiac; so it's strange that we'd get Darkseid and not Brainiac. I'd love to get a Gorilla Grodd figure--bigfig or normal. Although if he was a big fig, I'd really hope he'd come with a gigantic purple cape! That may be asking too much, but I love Grodd's formal wear. And Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet is just begging to be made into a set; hopefully it's be more successfully translucent than Green Lantern's jet, which just has too much non-trans-green parts on it. Black Manta would be a great figure too; and I think he'd work best in a small $13 set with a new Aquaman and a small sub.
  25. Still, again like I said, it would be easier and cheaper for Lego to just use Joker's hair, since it's already in production--it's just easier for them to use it; even though it's not perfectly accurate. I could see them using it, and giving his skin a lighter shade of green (and most likely gloves--a more Teen Titains looking version is most likely I think). Just like Sinestro, the hair will not be accurate, but Lego will use it anyways. That's starting to be what I expect from this line, and frankly that's disappointing. But that's still grasping at hypothetical straws anyways, as we have no indication we will even get a Beast Boy any time soon (other then "it looks kinda realistic"--which could be said about many of the game characters).
