  1. Actually, unrelated to your greater point because I don't care but I think it's actually very funny that Peacemaker isn't treated as on par with them in universe, literally every other hero is strung up Peacemaker is the only one left bleeding out on the floor. He's such a loser he wasn't worth displaying as a victory like everyone else. If I were more optimistic about the theme I'd say a comic based one could be supported by the bad price as they'd make more new prints for the comic based roster but we all know that means nothing
  2. You know as someone who never gave a shit about how much movies make I never got how BVS was a flop despite the 7 million internet arguments I've seen about it. You put it in context in a really clear way, that's genuinely a really atrocious drop off, too often people just compare contactless numbers and that doesn't help but man you could see the audience goodwill to DC wilt there.
  3. Yeah, the Dummy is an all timer figure. I think it was just him, the Ninja and the Diver who had 5 copies in a box. Going off memory here I believe there were four magicians per box
  4. Well I did acknowledge that, it's not a guarantee be we can't act like this has never been a factor with Superheroes sets so while it guarantees nothing it does make certain things more likely.
  5. You know what, I agree with most people on here, there is a magic to the old CMFs that has been lost in recent years. Back in the day you go to the store, you see every case having 60 minifigures, five of which being Demolition Dummies, so you have more chance of getting the figure you want. There'd be the communal element of feeling the bags, trying to find the parts of the Demolition Dummy, with the big display minifigure bag hanging above you (which you assume has a massive Demolition Dummy inside). The wider selection of 16 figures means that dud figures, like everyone but the Demolition Dummy, mean less as there's a whole extra third of a modern series per series. The characters would have little sets between series that all go together with funny bios that connected them and told us who the Demolition Dummy was friends. And had a slightly different aesthetic to normal minifigures in the CMFs, they still all fit together with regular figs but you could just tell who was a CMF because they had a slightly cartoonier design language with memorable expressions like the Demolition Dummy had. With the instructions having a cool image on the back telling us how we can turn a LEGO nudist into a baller baller shot caller half as cool as the Demolition Dummy. They just don't make them like they used to
  6. We don't expect any direct tie ins, LEGO rarely ever does that, but the hope is if the characters are more relevant with children they'll be more willing to make sets with them. Then again Robin has been the lead in one of the most popular kid's shows for over a decade and he's not allowed in sets anymore
  7. Man, imagine your only friend being Leonard Snart
  8. IKR? It's the 2014 Cold figure too. Lmao, this being so petty really makes this panel all the funnier
  9. He worked hard on it, let him enjoy it No idea why they did that, mad
  10. Funny how the book needs to use figures over a decade old because there's so little actual DC sets to advertise, fun that Killer Moth is there
  11. Here we see in the recent Superman activity book how he has become an egomaniac with the release of his movie and is bullying a poor cancer patient. Why is Lex robbing a bank anyways?
  12. Yeah, a bunch of kids shows were announced. Definitely could help with the chance of LEGo sets
  13. I wonder how City D2C would even differ from a modular bar obviously not connecting to them
  14. Sadly, I don't think that's a big enough sector to matter to LEGO anymore. They're firmly in their funko pop era, I think the adult LEGO demographic buy LEGO now mainly because it's a bunch of IP they like in a unified artstyle. I'm sure some people would buy a werewolf Spider-Man because it looks cool but I guarantee you the vast majority of people don't buy CMFs of IPs they don't care for beforehand anymore. That's why they can do stuff that's more niche like the formula one or D&D series because those brands have dedicated enough fans who will collect the CMF without caring about LEGO much otherwise. The Adults Welcome push as been all about shifting LEGO's secondary focus from dedicated AFoLs who are super into LEGO itself but instead casual adult consumers who don't buy much LEGO but will shell out the big bucks for a cutesy version of an IP they love. If LEGO is still making Sony sets when the third film comes out then the hero characters are a given, assuming Jess is still important in three that's possible. Ben was just a gag character in 2 so idk if a line that had to redo Miles, Miguel, Gwen, Peter and half a dozen others + new characters would have room for him.
  15. This isn't a niche thing, it's a popular movie, casuals want the characters from the movie not random extras Also Lobster Loving Batman was in the movie a lot, the Batman bathrobe was at the start and end of his arc. That'd be too cool for LEGO to do, let alone Marvel, pretty sure if they tried put him in a Spider-Man movie he'd gain sapience and take over the movie by immediately solving the plot with his unfathomable power Right? Like even if we assume they couldn't choose Ben, Jess or any of the main characters from the first film someone like the 60s Spider-Man who has an actual joke in the film, or Spider UK who has both a line and is important in the comics + is the version that's a Muslim woman so would also be diverse. Just seems like really poor choices, I really don't see how hyper niche Spiders appeal to the general audience more than characters they remember in the movie. As you've said, it'd be different if we could feel any confidence they'd do these characters later but I kinda doubt it
  16. Yeah, exactly. Like these aren't minor characters, these are background extras 99 percent of moviegoers didn't even notice. It's like. I get the appeal of a series of all Spiderpeople so I don't lament the loss of villains but even in terms of minor spiders surely they'd go for ones that have an actual joke in the movie or relevance outside it. Genuinely I didn't know Sun Spider and werewolf Spider-Man were in the movie, I only know Cyborg was because she was marketed so much.
  17. Yeah, I don't really see the appeal of not just variants so minor but their not even ones that are particularly memorable, funny or with much history in the comics. Like it feels like some of these are them just wanting to do Spider variants of stock CMF archetype. IDK, maybe I'm just biased because the only figure I would have wanted from this movie was Scarlet Spider
  18. Has there been new info? Because last we heard the Batmobile only comes with Batman. I don't think what you put was in anyway an insane ask but we have to consider how this theme has been run, we had a 400 quid Batcave with like 8 or 9 new prints total for a roster of 7 minifigures. And we've also gotta consider that if it really is just a Batman Forever set which is plausible then there's gonna be a lot of filler figs especially as they might just not feel like including Robin
  19. Yeah, they've put too much faith in the DCU to be able to abort if Superman flops. Supergirl and Lanterns are filming Peacemaker is already filmed Creature Commandos series 2 has probably already had the voices recorded given how far in advance animation works Given their planned release dates Sgt Rock and Clayface are heavy enough in pre-production they couldn't just be quietly forgotten about, they could start filming before Superman is out. The Robins movie is already filming And potentially the Blue Beetle cartoon as the lead actor claimed it plans to be out 2026, which I would take with a grain of salt but for him to think that at all he has to have at least recorded his lines. That's a lot, and potentially it could go very wrong, I definitely think 2 shows and 3 movies is way too much for 2026 but the interesting thing when put into context here is that aside from Supergirl and the two Gunn shows this lineup seems to be very standalone. Imagining Superman flops my guess is they put out whichever of these are far enough along to keep, and then if they don't do well then pivot to standalone movies mostly about Batman.
  20. Forty of them, that's as many as four tens and that's lovely Maybe coping is a good idea for a little bit, coping is much more fun than not
  21. There's a chance but I think it's more likely exclusively based on Forever given how LEGO does things now
  22. Well we're likely next on the chopping board if Musk isn't stopped given how he wanted to do give the same support he gave to trump to Farage. Musk's plan is to just buy elections and make the Fascist party win each time.
  23. No way he wins it, generally there's not a rule saying you have to keep advertising children's toys on a site full of Nazis. Like basic free market capitalism is companies will stop advertising in places that could make them look bad and scare off customers.
  24. Oh, that's actually really clever. Nice work Was it though? From my memory the story was it was a 13 year old was crushing on him, he knew but didn't reciprocate then she changed her body to look like an adult, he started making creepy jokes and eventually, for a brief period, actually dated her. She was not mentally aged up just physically. I believe there was a later retcon that she was actually a thousand years old which doesn't help his case as we've all been on the internet Long enough to know "character was actually thousands of years old but just looks and acts like a kid" it's exactly the best defense. To be fair though that story to my knowledge hasn't been recanonised with all the Rebirth and Omniverse stuff so current Hal probably doesn't diddle kids. Kinda hard with Deathstroke as for him it happened in the single most popular Titans story ever that'll never be able to be forgotten or discarded. It's kinda depressingly common how much this has happened. From what I've heard Hal, Mad Hatter and Slade are nonces, Cheetah and Doctor Light are rapists and both Superboy and Impulse have a moment early in their introductions where they make out with a non-consenting woman at super speed, if memory, serves which counts as SA. Insane that only one of these characters hasn't been able to live it down, everyone else gets it memory holed outside of fandom injokes, must suck being a Doctor Light fan. Given the amount of notable villains on the list I imagine the next Legion of Doom meeting is gonna have Penguin doing something like this as damage control https://youtu.be/_YmDcCpD1gc?si=4wutflghs7ipxfoS
  25. Okay, I'm confused, I get the joke with Deathstroke but in that case why is Booster Gold the other person there instead of like Hal.
