DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Renny The Spaceman replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Right? If that happens then the five new figures would probably just be Batman, Joker, Harley, Mr Freeze and Penguin or Catwoman again This sounds more and more plausible come to think of it Honestly the costume designs were great in that film, if they had minifigures you could just put hair on Black Adam and swap out Atom Smasher's arms and have figures pretty close to the comics Right, remember how it was a massive beacon of hope we were even getting a Superman figure last year? Now if we get Chris O'Donnell Robin it'll be a welcome surprise. We're devolving year upon year -

Hey, lay off Atom Smasher! He was in the smash hit film Black Adam, everyone wants Atom Smasher now -
I get that, don't think that actually affects the quality though, I understand how zombies dominated pop culture at the time but I think that shouldn't come into a fair evaluation of the figures. I think you misinterpreted my point, I didn't say he looked like CS or Blacktron figures, I later specifically pointed out how the 2010 CMFs had very unique graphic design to what came before and after, just like Swordy didn't say he looked like the road runner. The point with all of those is sometimes simplicity lends to a better design. The Dummy doesn't literally look like a classic figure like the modern Galaxy Explorer doesn't literally look like a classic set, both take the clean simplicity of LEGO's older design language and applies it to a modern context. A lot of the examples I'm going for here are LEGO space because that's what I know best. Definitely don't think a Space police figure would be in the archetypes for the 2010, most of the line was in 2009! 2010s are an odd duck of a decade as the aesthetic for the early 2010s is completely different from the rest. I mean look at the city police officer in 2010 and 2019

Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

We had photos of the Space series in like November when they came out in May, genuinely could be any day now -
Really creative how you did Mr Fantastic here, probably the best looking purist custom funnily enough Yeah, it's definitely how I think LEGO looks best, like figures who go all in on the detail can look great, like all the old Middle earth figures but often they can lean into overdesigned and just inversely look bland and loose the LEGO charm. The LEGO original figures who look the best and make the most impact I find are always the ones that do a lot with a little. memorable designs are usually clean, it's why so many 90s designs Superhero designs (not all of them, there are a lot of good ones) don't hold up, more detail can often add unnecessary visual bloat. Like look at the LEGO crash Dummy in LEGO fortnite, there's arm printing and side leg printing but it just looks worse. Some designs call for more detail, King Théoden or the modern Basil the Batlord look great as they are but I think something like a version of a crash test dummy lends itself to simplicity, that is the best way to design one. ALSO something I love about the first couple series of CMFs is that the prints are more stylised and closer to the art-style of Micheal Patton's concept art, I think it's what makes the expressions so cartoony and memorable for me. The Dummy's vacant stare is so funny and effortlessly charming and I think if he was designed today he wouldn't look nearly as good in that regard

That would make so much sense financially, so many people who grew up with those games are now nostalgic for them and just coming into disposable income. it's honestly a slam dunk of a set idea. That is the exact reason it will not happen -
You're a sick sick man. Many more of the reviews are positive. He's no more simplistic than the figures around him, unlike most CMFs he is timeless. The Dummy isn't actually disliked by the general LEGO community anymore, he was considered a dud at the time of the theme's inception for being too niche but that has drastically changed. Boring accessories and no headgear apply to the Zombie too who was beloved at the theme's launch. Complaining about this figure for being simplistic feels like complaining about a Blacktron or CS figure for being simplistic, that's the aesthetic, that what's make them definitive and memorable. Consider this, there are so many figures way less niche, with way more detailed printing and new molds with unique accessories like the series 19 Firefighter, or the series 16 Cyborg, or that robot guy from series 24 but they're almost immediately forgotten when the next series comes out, because no matter how hyper detailed you make a common archetype there'll always be another so it gets lost to time never be as memorable as something unique and simplistic as that sticks in your mind. He's the mascot of multiple LEGO fansites and one of the most beloved of series 1 now, the people of the past were simply weak.

Every figure with that head is Luigi in disguise, meaning he made his first appearance in 2017 in TLNM sets, fitting as that's the year his delivery bike was released with TLBM sets. How long will this redemption last? Will Swordy slide back into villainy once we ratchet up a notch in insanity? Stay tuned to find out

When my Evil Bombur figure starts showing wear I fear what that's gonna unleash onto the world -
Idk, think about it, soup makes a pizza soggy and causes it to fall apart, he could take out his vehicle even if Luigi survives, Soup on his own can't take Luigi though That should have been ruled out long ago, no machine could come up with what he said Nice photos, love how you bought a city set you never would have entirely forgotten the aslume. Especially funny as Luigi is made up entirely out of common pre-existing parts

My Idea for a LEGO City Undercover CMF Series
Renny The Spaceman replied to xxix5's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Alright list but the last 6 have got to go. Replace them with Chase in the purple suit, player 2 Chase in astronaut, undercover and robber disguises, the beta version of Chase. Ending, of course, with the best character from the game, the Demolition Dummy. -
Oh, right, makes sense then. I KNOW! The main villain of the original show is a monkey called Mojo Jojo, in this script their archenemy is a human called Mojo who is killed by one of the girls then his son Jojo has a pet monkey which he used to get elected and the twist reveal at the end is actually his dad somehow. ) I Also, since this is my 1000th pos, I shall mark it with something. Here is most of my Dummy army, I don't have any normal grey baseplates (fake LEGO collector, clearly I decided to borrow a couple crater ones from my CS shelf to get the real army builder spirit flowing. :P

Why couldn't he see her? Like it's a different planet but he does own a spaceship? Wrong reboot, I meant that CW reboot script that leaked a few years back, that script was perhaps the funniest thing I ever read, they literally have a character say the main villain only got elected because he has a pet monkey and people love Harambe and the Professor spends all of the girls' inheritance on fidget spinners. The reboot that actually came out seems like it was just creepy (never watched it) but this one was a beautiful mess, the CW's worst traits all put together to make art. Damn, didn't know the ring can hold a job

Well they'd do it to set it apart from the old hobbit sets as the sold poorly, they make them yellow as LEGO city sells, it's also why they reuse star wars prints because star wars sells -

Maybe it's not Lex but a very similar looking alien who happens to have the exact same appearance and role as Lex Luthor -

Very funny this set was bought on nothing but hope. Superman sells a set entirely on the hope it'll lead to better ones, a much lower key use of his talents there -

Yeah, I'm not stupid, it's a The Hobbit set, they're probably making them yellow to establish it's a different theme -
Your Favourite Minifigure
Renny The Spaceman replied to Peppermint_M's topic in General LEGO Discussion
See if we're just talking minifigure as any design that LEGO has produced my vote is easy, it's the Demolition Dummy any day of the week, but if we're talking a specific, individual minifigure that I have owned it's so much harder. Pretty much every childhood figure I've ever owned has sorta ship of Thesused it self so many times that idk if they count as my original one anymore so it can't be my original red Spaceman as I don't know which parts belonged to my original. I own so many Demolition Dummies I'm not sure how I would pick a favourite, it'd be one of them though
