  1. That ain't happening, maybe we'll get a Christmas O'Donell Robin if we're lucky
  2. Just at the end of the year he made himself known again, he's plotting something
  3. REAL PIC!!!!!!!!!!!! I found this on brickshelf. I dont know if its real. does anyone have any ideas? Hobbit I would be really exited if Lego got that license. This has the potential to be a great line.
  4. Davey Jones? Idk if he'd really care about Aquaman, like is the sea sovereign actually vehemently against British pop singers?
  5. Sure, but in all those cases they're supporting roles in stories explicitly about the multiverse, you can explain in the movie what's up, that's different to if they decided MCU Spidey from the jump would be played by Andrew but not have any of his films be canon to the MCU nor bring back any of of his supporting cast. It's kinda an apples to oranges change, the average person who sees the poster or trailer who knows nothing about the behind the scenes is gonna naturally assume they're connected, very different to two movies where the premise is explicitly "we're gonna open portals to the old movie universes and get the old to meet the new." Sure, the GA might get it if you explain it clearly enough in interviews but why would you do that, what do you gain? Like regardless of anyone's opinions on the films he was in they were all controversial and 4 out of 5 underperformed so it's not gonna be a guaranteed nostalgia trap like the two Marvel examples. Obviously the writer/director of the film doesn't feel he's right for his film so it's not gonna help the story on it's own terms. it's too much work to convey for no substantial reward.
  6. You know on that subject, I checked the other day and Nighwing figures in the UK are all in the 30ish quid range. It makes sense as the Batfamily is super popular with the tik tok generation but it's insane as I swear a few years back you could get the polybag or 2019 ones for about a fiver. It's genuinely insane how, even ignoring all the rest of DC's roster that the core Batfamily members aren't being produced regularly.
  7. You know they wanted Harry Styles for that role? Ofc those plans changed after Niall petrol bombed him
  8. I mean, not really. "Clean slate" says he explicitly wants to get rid of all the old elements and thus is hypocritical. "Changing of the guard" literally just means his vision is different to who proceeded him, why reinvent the characters who already fit in his vision as he had made them becomes an understandable stance there. I think the peacemaker situation is overly confusing, assuming there is an explanation in the show for why series 1 doesn't match up (like if he just hallucinated the JL or something) I think it'd be much cleaner if he just said "you'll see what continuity it's in when the season releases" or whatever. But I think something people in the know don't seem to get is that it doesn't matter here, because from what we've seen all the confusing continuity shit is exclusively in the shows. The reason that you can't just have a standalone Superman movie that keeps the guy who played him last is that the movie needs to appeal to a much broader audience than season 2 of Peacemaker or Creature Commandos. If you make a movie headlines by someone from the old DC universe every normal person will assume they're connected and trying to explain they're not will just confuse them more, none of the movies so far announced are seemingly gonna feature any of the old actors from other projects, that's all stuck to streaming shows, mainly animated ones too, the people who watch those are gonna be the type to know or staunchly not care about what's canon and what's not. They're not touching the Suicide Squad or Blue Beetle characters outside of TV for the time being so they can get away with it without alienating the regular people who don't know who Walter Hamada is.
  9. I'm a little confused by the complaint about having a film's director and writer in the marketing, that's a good thing? Like a big issue with the current blockbuster system is how executive driven they are, admittedly this is a weird case where the executive is also the writer and director but regardless it's a good sign that this is being pushed as a James Gunn film first instead of a DC one. Not only is that just the smart thing to do since ofc the DC brand is box office poison right now but that kinda reinforces the idea that (for now) DC is gonna just focus on letting creatives be the hook instead of the brand or and endless string of unfulfilled set ups
  10. I am chill lol, it's just funny. It's been equally insane behind the scenes and it's silly to act like it started being that way recently, announcing then cancelling projects willy nilly has been a joke about DC for the better part of a decade! They had a film edited by a trailer house for Christ's sake, this has been Sony level from the jump.
  11. TBF he's not just keeping the Suicide Squad guys, as you said there's also Blue Beetle for some reason. I honestly think if he just didn't announce the Blue Beetle thing until that show had actually been greenlit it'd probably be less confusing. TBF I do think a big part of the issue is he had to market 4 random DCEU film's as actually being important to his plans which lead to a bunch of weird impossible to parse statements. The funny thing about it is if it wasn't for Peacemaker he'd probably be fine, TSS is pretty much written to be in a completely different world than the other DCEU film's and never show's or references any event from the other films. There's a couple shared cast members but they're all written and dressed completely differently to the point most casual watchers don't realise Flag was in the first. Keeping Robbie and Davis makes sense and is something audiences would probably accept like JK Simmons. But he fully shot himself in the foot by including the Justice League in Peacemaker then having Peacemaker characters pop up in Black Adam and Shazam and now everything is a mess. I doubt any of this will matter as the way they seem to be trying to run this series is by just making good standalones that share actors which is what audiences will be more receptive to then trying to get them invested in another MCU immediately after they've grown sick of the first. The reason that I think stuff like Clayface or Sgt Rock is smarter to do than a new Wonder Woman or Green Lantern film is the former two are genre films helmed by a well known creative who has went to Gunn and asked for it. Those can be sold as movies to people not into capeshit. If you make just a bunch of movies where the hook is "look, it's this hero" it's not gonna do as well as it did back in 2019. Superheroes aren't enough anymore, you have to make actual movies OR just bring back shit people are nostalgic about. Bale ain't gonna come back so in terms of DC movie stars they're kinda boned with the latter so they have to try the former
  12. TDKR is an Adam West plot in the coat of Nolan. I love it so much, it's hilarious when you think about it for a second but I cannot take it seriously because it's the Batman voice at it's silliest (genuinely LEGO Batman sounds like less of a parody than TDKR Bruce) talking to the one character in any Batman film with a stupider voice than him about how the occupy wall street movement was bad.
  13. megabluck off, you're looking at the DC cinematic universe and claiming it got weird in 2022? This has been megablocking bonkers since 2016
  14. I get that, but this happening at the exact same time that Andy says he's gonna do a different film first due to delays does make it seem like there might be a link or at the very least Mr Flash has been quietly booted from the film. I thing regardless of what happens there has been a change in whatever plans there were. Also I doubt the DCU "plans" hinge on any movie but Superman, otherwise Gunn wouldn't take the approach of greenlighting whatever happens to come together first, he'd try nail down on getting specific films made instead of letting creatives lead projects based on Clayface and Sgt Rock which weren't even in the initial line-up. From the way things are shaping I think the plan for the DCU is just making standalone movies that happen to share characters and locations which is the best way to go. But who knows, maybe the reason both films got delayed at the same time is WB wants The Batman 2 out before the other Batman is introduced
  15. IDK, I don't think he'd really want to be our leader for the long haul, I feel if we made the right argument he'd be willing to be in charge for the short term, just to fix things, but I think he'd not want all the responsibility. He should have the ability at all times to take the reigns if need be though
  16. Merry Christmas my fellow inmate. As a Brit how would you rank the Nativity films (the greatest films to watch pissed on Christmas) 🤞Dummy for president, the night's still young🤞
  17. 22 Demolition Dummies
  18. THEY TURNED SANTA INTO A TWINK, I WON'T STAND FOR THIS! I'd accept making the tooth fairy or jack frost twinks, maybe Jesus at a push but this is going too far! Santa isn't Santa if he's not round and jolly Oh this is beautiful, this is why the ring chose you, your imagination breeds beautiful, dummy based art
  19. Here's my LEGO santa tierlist, unfortunately it is not as JPEG as I wished it to be
  20. Yeah, that was when the Flashes started sucking and megablocking each other
