  1. I was actually able to gain Senate approval to get 10221 during the May 4th sale!! Awesome. I went through ShopDiscover and saved an additional 5% as well, bringing the total to $304.
  2. I didn't realize the Batman Jetski's would be at Target too. Too bad I had to shell out the TRU tax.
  3. Nice set! Part of me thinks it would have been better to have a Lego-shaped hand on the armor, though. Most sets include a free membership to the Lego Club...
  4. That's fantastic! I love Tatooine-themed mini builds. You did a great job representing the homestead scene.
  5. I know we haven't heard much about the B-wing yet, but do we know if it will be minifig-scale?
  6. You know...the look of the Clone Wars minifigs bothered me at first, but I've learned to accept them for what they are: a faithful LEGO representation of one part of the Star Wars saga. I've simply learned to overlook their faults and appreciate them for what they are. It definitely doesn't affect my fandom of LEGO Star Wars.
  7. I hope the Echo Base set goes on sale; that's the last set I need from last summer's wave.
  8. You've managed to capture the scene perfectly! Great job and brilliant execution.
  9. The Queen Amidala minifig will be available in the new Gungan Sub set this summer.
  10. The price wouldn't be that bad. I'm thinking $80-100 tops. I'd be willing to pay that, assuming it was an iconic saber like Luke or Vader's.
  11. Wow, I hadn't noticed that before but you're right. That minifig looks a lot like a Nolan version of Batman.
  12. Just to be sure - the Star Wars game isn't going to be available in the U.S. right?
  13. Great idea! I've thrown my vote behind it.
  14. I lived in the UK for several years, and would love to get my hands on a set of these!
  15. I bought this set last week and just got around to putting it together earlier today. Like others have said, it really is a great set! I love how LEGO went the extra mile to include the Mustafar elements (platform and mining droid). The set itself feels almost like a playset because of it, which I love (I'm of the opinion that LEGO doesn't make nearly as many location sets for the SW theme as they should).
  16. Man, May 4th can't get here fast enough! This minifig looks fantastic. I'm anxious to find out which SW sets will be on sale, too.
  17. Exactly. As much as we try to explain it away, that's all it really comes down to. I have to call BS on excuses like "they have to pay a fee to LEGO for getting product early". LEGO is getting just as much out of it as TRU is, because they know there are collectors who will rush out and buy sets at TRU as soon as they become available, regardless of the "TRU tax".
  18. The Toys R Us case is simply a matter of a company being more greedy than it should be. The "TRU tax" isn't just a problem with LEGO, either. I used to collect Star Wars action figures, and there is a substantial markup in that category as well. Quite frankly, TRU is lucky that there are still so many ignorant consumers out there who will shop in their stores simply because it's the biggest toy store around (speaking for 90% of parents out there, not necessarily AFOLs). I personally believe that's one of the only things keeping them around. If Toys R Us were, say, an electronics store that offered products at a 10% markup over MSRP, their business model would tank pretty quickly. As for the Christmas markup, don't get me started there....that's corporate greed at its finest.
  19. Welcome to Eurobricks! This topic probably belongs in the "Dream LEGO Licenses" thread. It's an interesting idea- have you considered posting it to Cuusoo?
  20. Hey MightyMegs, which head is that on your Salah MOC? I've been trying to figure out which one to use...
  21. I don't mind the hands not being chromed, personally. If there's any risk of the chrome chipping over time, I'm fine with cutting some corners to make the most heavily used part of the minifig (the hands) last longer.
  22. Nice!!! A chrome TC-14 has long been on my list of most-wanted minifigs. I'll happily drop $75 come the 4th to get mine.
  23. Fantastic build! I love how realistic everything looks, particularly the fireplace. Did you use a light brick there?
  24. I voted for this on Cuusoo! We really need to get the word out on this one...
  25. I agree 100%. We need to get this on Cuusoo ASAP!!! I know a ton of Harry Potter fans who would register just to vote for this model.
