  1. Looks a lot like an X-Drive (link below my version), except you probably made it even more nauseating by having the bench spinning motorized too.
  2. Thanks for the great review Jim. I'm really impressed by the functions of this models. You do mention the lack of a gearbox as a con plus, but I do consider it a positive: There are more than enough gearboxes out there and to me it's just a bunch of gears that make the pistons move slower or faster without adding real functionality. By not focusing on these kind of functions they kept room for al these original functions that you haven't build multiple times before. Added this set to my watchlist. :) I think you're right that a lot of builders probably thought about there storage first before they started thinking about the potential applications of the piece. Even though you get a lot for your money, as self proclaimed president of the "B-model fan club" I think we should not tolerate the move towards A-model only in bigger sets which seems to have become the norm.
  3. I think you won the price for "most complex functionality per number of bricks". Really clever.
  4. Absolutely amazing how you got all the movements so well synchronised with just a single motor!
  5. I'm also running it way faster than you it does in real life, but even real portable rides tend to wobble a little bit sometimes ;-)
  6. Interesting idea. I like non-vehicle challenges as this pushes people a bit more to think outside the box.
  7. A funfair ride inspired by the KMG X-Drive (https://kmgrides.com/rides/x-drive-2). Fully transportable on a single trailer. Three independent powered-up motors for actuators (both to bring the boom up from transport as to further raise it to start the ride), rotation of the arm, rotation of the seats. Transport (I know, trucks are not really my thing): Setup: In action: Video (shows way more action than the photo's):
  8. Very nice. You might want to check out binary of quaterny (base 4) solutions as that might work better than 10 axle positions.
  9. That ramp is very satisfying to watch.
  10. Thanks for the review. This set has by far the best function to parts ratio of the whole 2021/1 line-up ;-)
  11. Just an idea: you could make it into a "game" where you get a certain beginning situation (like red pallet in slot A3, blue in B1 etc.) and an ending situation that you have to achieve with minimum amount of movements possible.
  12. Impressive how you put so many functions in there.
  13. Hey juggleman, based on what I'm seeing there you should definitely post here more often!
  14. The way the gondolas catch on to the cable and releases from the cable is absolutely fantastic! Could you share some detailed pictures of these parts?
  15. Great work! I especially like the mechanism on the crane to pick up / drop the containers sideways.
  16. Very nice. Impressive how you get the lifting mechanism working so smoothly (and without burning up the motor).
  17. For those in Belgium: The Liebherr is at Dreamland for only €316! https://www.dreamland.be/e/nl/dl/lego-technic-42100-liebherr-r9800-grafmachine-188650
  18. This is even more scary than the real Boston Dynamics one ;-) Really impressive movement.
  19. What I would really like is a new version of this: ... but for Control+. Would be a lot more fun than using your phone, and you would be able to build stuff like a steering wheel, gear knob, ... on top of it to create realistic controls for your creation.
  20. Thanks for your feedback! I didn't know the Aspark, so it wasn't an inspiration. However I like that you recognise an existing car in it ;-)
  21. I didn't know you've got those in AA-format. Isn't there a risk damaging your motors or are they safe at 11.1V?
  22. If you measure alkalines give 1.5V, but under load this is actually lower so the difference with rechargeables isn't actually as big. If you really need maximum power for a short (and expensive) time I can understand you use alkalines but otherwise it's really a waste of money. Keep in mind that there are huge differences in quality when it comes to rechargeables, so if you ever had a lesser experience with those that might be due to using an inferior type (I've once bought a set AA's that claimed to be 2000mAh but where actually around 900mAh). My own battery boxes are all filled with IKEA LADDA's which always come out very high in quality tests and are pretty cheap.
  23. Good to know. I had seen this curved arches on models from others but wasn't actually sure how they were made.
