Hi, Thx for the great comment, I really appreciate that ? I call my style 'detailistic', a new word for the dictionary ?. But in the end it's alot of trial and error to get the textures and details right. Venice is making slow progress. Alot of testing and trying new things, but where getting there ? I think Venice is going to be 40cm wider than my Spider-Man build. So it's going to be my biggest city build to date!

Welcome ? Great nickname as well ?
-
Thx, glad you like it ? Yes, the texture turned out great. It was a lot of tinkering to get it right. The broken glass was a fun part to make and gave it a bad neighborhood touch. Some rascals threw rocks against the windows (you can still see some rocks hanging in the brokenglass windows) a couple of nights ago. On the top floor a burglar was trying to break-in with a screwdriver, but he screwed up and broke the window ? Greetings Barthezz Brick

Yes, you found him ? it are actually bricks/packs of cocaine ?

Thx for the great comment and feedback! Gave you a follow as well, great modular buildings Are you building these in real-life as well or just in LDD? This detailed/realistic building style has 2 sides to the story as well. I want to do interior within my builds but i can't because the walls would be 3/4studs thick.. So maybe i have to do a 'clean' build somethime to accomplisch that Greetings Barthezz Brick Hi, This next build is special to me. It was my first real attempt back in november 2017 to do a LEGO city build and the feedback and response were overwelming. I didn't expect that at all! The build is called 'A Cold Day In Hell' and it's a story about a detective who can't let go of a certain murder that happend back in November 2017. There is a small puzzle hidden within the pictures, can you find the murderer that these detectives are looking for? Thx, glad you like it ?. That is just the one question I couldn't give you an answer to.. I have literally no idea. If I may guess: approximately 7.500/9.000 pieces.. but maybe more or less ? Thx, much appreciated ? If you have any questions or curiosity's, feel free to ask. I will answer them happily ? Haha, thx for this insane comment ? Then I'm curious for your next build! If you have any questions, feel free to ask ?

Wow this is so cool to hear! Thank you very much. I hope I can surprise you with my upcoming Venice Italy build in a couple of months ?. I stumbled upon that topic already because within 2days I had the same feeling (maybe longer because I was reading as a visitor before) but it's a general problem with forums. People want volatile media like facebook, insta.. it's all 1minute of fame and no real discussion, they just want to get attention for the problems or a thumbs up for there work.. Let's see if we can turn this around ? Thx for the warm welcome ?

[MOC] Historic mocs - by Barthezz Brick
Barthezz Brick replied to Barthezz Brick's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thx, much appreciated ?. The build started with the wooden bearpit, because if that part wasn't working/ I couldn't make that double arch i would stop the project. But after 3/4 attempts I got it working. The inner wall is 1stud with a layer of tiles on both sides. I could go on for hours, but let's say I'm just really proud on the end result ?- 60 replies

Barthezz Brick replied to Barthezz Brick's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Haha, first idea/sketch was 2 times bigger ? this is 95*65 in centimeters give or take. And thx for the compliment ? I had time.. I spended 300 hours in 5 months I think + I needed to work and my girlfriend wants attention to ? On the regular LEGO minifigs the capes are from 'Capemadness' and the rest of the figs is custom made (21 of them). Hi, I'm a 33year old AFOL from The Netherlands and after a 'dark age' of 20 years I'm back since 1,5 years. I build in different themes with my own 'detailistic' style (I know that's not a real word, but I define my style as detailed/realistic). You can expect City, WW2, Star Wars, Medieval, Zombie/Post-apocalyptic & Fantasy builds in the years to come. I'll post my older builds in the coming days. If you can't wait/you're curious checkout my Flickr account. Or give me a follow on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and/or Pinterest. if you have any questions or you want to know something, let me know ? Greetings Barthezz Brick

Hi, I'm new on Eurobricks, but not to the world of LEGO. I'm building for 1,5 years now and this WW2 build I made back in 2017 for a contest on Flickr. If you like what you see give me a follow on Flickr, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and/or Pinterest. Background I build an accurate scene from the movie 'Saving Private Ryan'. I did some extended research to make this scene as accurate as possible. The hardest thing to figure out was the placement of each soldier. Second of all that the halftrack came in from behind and that Captain Miller and his men had to turn around 180 degrees so that the wouldn't be attacked from behind. Eventually Captain Miller and his men where surprised by the explosion from the other side of the halftrack. By the second hit Captain Miller and his men came into action and ambushed the small recon unit of the 2nd SS Panzer Division by surprise. Those German Soldiers didn't know what hit them! After the battle they found out that a small 101st Airborne squad from the 506h PIR was following them up close and took out that 2nd SS Panzer Division halftrack. The rest of the story is known and otherwise watch this great WW2 movie :) Hope you'll like what you see!
