I got an ide while looking at new parts. I believe this part is the 5 L black part used on both sides between the front springs. From the Hig res Pics I was quite sure it was not a standard 5 L beam, and even tested half beams and levers to see what it might be. This however fits very well. Will try to figure out the winch mechanism with this tomorrow. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=80286#T=C PS: I prefer LDD as it is quick and easy to use. More complex builds I always do physically with real bricks, but for quick mockups of solutions or ideas LDD is perfect. I also have imported a lot of newer parts to LDD, it's more on a functionality aspect I find it lacking, like compressing springs etc. _ED_

The Polaris BigBoss/Sportsman has independent wishbones for front suspension, and some kind of bogie rear suspension. This should be possible to mod in. It is a 15 stud wide model so I think both independent front suspension, and a setup with pendular front suspension and 6WD (diff on front axle) should be possible. TC18 proved this. But not independent front suspension and 6WD. Would love it if somebody could come up with a concept for both in the same axle and still keeping to 15 suds total width..

Quite an amazing set actually! If this has the new diffs it will be quite the parts pack as well! Turning into a must buy =D And the fact they have managed to combine the 42029 and the 42070, with more functionality, into a package not much bigger than last years 42122 Jeep Wrangler is really great! Shows what can be done if they don't go all out on looks to license a set... Same as with last years tow truck. Hope they keep this up! Lets show them the way to go with out wallet. This might be a set I buy multiples of... One for parts, one for the model, one for moc B, C, D, etc models and one or more for gifts? I also belive this will be a great set for B, C, D... models! I can already envision moc B models representing the aforementioned 42029 and 42070 as well as a few others. And also I can see a lot of mods comming, like more realistic tires with balloon ones, other equipment setups, rear belts etc. I sometimes use a Polaris just like this in work (The reason I first got interested and started considering this set), and will definitely try to mod in into that exact model, as well as modify it with the equipment we use. And suddenly I know what I'm going to do after dinner tonight... LDD, here I come! This is the one I have at work: And some of it's equipment: _ED_ EDIT: Unfortunately I can't post pictures of the exact one I'm using as photos are prohibited at my workplace... But these are the official Polaris photos of the model.

This turned out amazing! I've been following the build, and must say the result is even more amazing than I thought it would be! You have done an very good job at preventing sag after the joint. I for sure thought this would be a problem in such a heavy build. _ED_

I would suggest you get the 42129 Zetros. It contains all the parts you want as well as a good selection of Control+ parts. _ED_ -

What about a backhoe? Been a while since the last one, and we have no PF or control+ backhoes... 2800 parts give quite a few possibilities, Especially now that we have both Large and mid size tractor tires... -
Building on this I would like to se a new part (similar to the old swash plate part on the wirlwind rescue) that also could be used as a wheel hub with a much more powerful ball joint then the current CV-joints. Is it to much to hope for to see such a part in both this and the new supercar, along with realistic suspention geometry? Probably if I know TLG...

We have a Control+ Excavator (2019), a hauler (2020) and a dozer (2021). My money is on a front loader. Seems every second year is a complex set. 2021 we got the dozer (complex set), and 2020 we had the Hauler (simple set relatively). A four channel front loader with some added stuff like a new light kit for Control+ would be another relatively simple set, and it is the nex natural thing to play with the other 3 construction sets. I would however love to see a sett with pneumatics and motorized valves! That would be a must buy if there ever was one! :) -
A Jesko would actually be something I would buy! If it is something else it would need to have some innovation in suspention setup or the steering to make it interesting to me. I think both the bugatti and the Lambo had to few innovations to make them worth it. It was all standard angles, standard hubs, and very little new from the Porche, just some refinement. I'm hoping they would use this to launch a new set of suspention parts that allow for more realistic angles, like slight camber, kpi and caster, while at the same time maintaining correct steering angle. That would make it a must buy. A new gearbox, fake engine or RC would not impress me the same way... _ED_

Seems a bit wide for a Sherp... Otherwise a nice model! How bout making a trailer for it? _ED_ -

Thank you very much! _ED_ -
Very nice model with good functionality! I love these compact models! I'll be trying my hand at it later. Though I'll need to do a few mods as I lack a few parts. _ED_

[MOC] MAZ 5316 RC
Nazgarot replied to Danifill's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Apart from the steering geometry this is a very nice, and inspiring build! Love both the general geometry of the whole model and the shaping of the frame and the cabin, and it has impressive articulation on the axles! Very well done. Could you make a cad rendering of the drivetrain? Would love to see how you geared down the buggy motor and transferred it's torque to the wheels. _ED_ -
I have a possibility to buy one for € 290,- Is it worth it? I'll probably mod it heavily to get individual control of the right and left lift cylinder for the blade, and I'm already designing a Dozer from scratch (Started before this became known). Problem is I lack parts for the Dozer I'm designing, so I'm considering buying this as a base and modify it with what I already for for my own dozer. So, how good a parts pack would you consider this at € 290? _ED_

Lego 8043 Problem
Nazgarot replied to ndm1306's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Calm down Andman. I agree he is rude, and not appreciating your help, but there is no cause to be rude back. I do sincerely think you did a good job trying to help even though the video was unavailable to you, as it was for me to. ndm1306: Please be more polite in your responses. These where all good suggestions from Andman, and your response tells very little of what you actually have tried/tested. There are several things that can cause this problem, and it would help greatly to hear what you have tried as well as knowing a bit of your skill level. Typical things you should consider is alignment of parts, checking manually if there is any tension when you operate the switchover function without the motor, as well as checking friction. The function should move smooth with a marked "click" when it changes. If it does not something is to tight or out of alignment. If it does it might be as Andman said, that your rechargeable batteries lack power. If I where you I would test with a set of fresh AA alkaline batteries if nothing else can explain the problem. _ED_ -

Nazgarot replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Licensing costs way to much and makes for less innovative models with fewer functions. I haven't bought a single new set this year, though I'm considering the rescue truck... The sets have become way to expensive for what functionality you get. _ED_ -

+1 A reintroduction of flex would be a great way to solve brakes with "new" parts. I feel Technic was a lot more innovative in the -90s. _ED_
