  1. I am shocked. You take that back!
  2. Casually dropping breadcrumbs are we? Gonna remember this. Especially as my Knights Treasurer are just such an organisation... Build is fantastic. Excellent work.
  3. What a flex! How many minifigs do you have? Awesome work, well done.
  4. Yeah, I built this after seeing it: Agree that its a very weird story. Pretty cool aesthetics though. Yeah, I was saying that at the time. Bit of fluff. Uhhuh. Very much wanna build a monster-hunter after seeing that. Though not the 6-decker man-o-war the armada has. Glorious though it is, I will never have the parts needed to build something that impressive. Very Eslandolan.
  5. @Ayrlego Forgive me for being a noob this late in my game. How do I get funds into Nola Mar's account? At the moment the town is completely broke. I could license builds for the town, but it can't afford to pay for them, so the issue is a bit circular.
  6. Yes, and yes! I've already ordered more DBG. Maybe I'll try this again soon.
  7. Those basalt columns! Oh my god I love them. Really wanna make an entire landscape of them at some point.
  8. It's a great build through and through. Definitely reminiscent of a Napoleonic portrait. I'll always be a purist, so the weapons, plumes and colours are a little upsetting, but that's my problem, not yours. I've questioned how the spearhead is sitting on that lance elsewhere. Looking forward to finding our your secrets!
  9. TBH this has been my approach with Bishop François so far. He's a nice bloke really, it's just that no-one seems to believe it... @NOD @Jeff of Clubs @Kai NRG @Garmadon thanks! At the moment my building room is the hottest room in my house, so I can't spend too long there. I had Don Marquez's torso and legs already built from a figbarf I did a while back. Really wanted to use them. Glad you like the expressions and the story too!
  10. I can answer that one. It's Nearly-Headless Nick from the Harry Potter Hogwarts sets. It has matching legs, and there's a couple of different colour versions.
  11. Has anyone seen The Sea Beast on Netflix? Great Age of Sail vibes
  12. Evening mateys. Have we got a story for you? Something a little bit spooky, a little bit strange, a little bit mysterious? Gather round, and listen to the Legend of Haunted Hallowdijk.
  13. Cat A Don Marquez, supporter of King Fernando.
  14. Monsignor Orfeo smiled at his host. Don Marquez - His Majesty King Fernando's Prefect of Kingsport - was a greasy fellow. To a lesser negotiator, his presence might have been off-putting. But the church man had worked with far worse, and in far more uncomfortable circumstances. He sipped his coffee, and listened politely. "It's not a question of money, Monsignor," the King's man was saying, "It's the *influence* of the opposing parties we must fight." "Indeed, my Lord," he replied, politely. "This is where the Shadow Council believes it may be able to support His Majesty. Merely provide us with the relevant names, and we will have their influence suitably... reduced." "Really?" replied the Eslandolan, skeptically. "You think the Order has more power in Eslandola than its own king?" "Possibly not, my lord. But we have the freedom of conscence that your own people might struggle with." They wandered on across immaculate lawns that, only a year ago had been pock-marked by impact craters. "And when do we get to the real reason you're here?" Don Marquez asked. "What do your lot get out of all this?" "It may be hard to believe, but the Order simply wants a more stable world. Situations like the Terraversa Incident must not be allowed to happen again. The best way to avoid this, as we see it, is to allow divinely-appointed monarchs to do their job. Revolutions and anarchies serve no-one." "How very noble of you." "We do try to lead with altruism," Orfeo responded. "But I hear a note of cynicism in your voice. If you doubt our commitment to this purpose then we are perfectly prepared to add ulterior motives to our agreement." "Better now than later." "Naturally, we would expect His Majesty's ongoing support for the Order's activity inside his borders. He would also owe us a favour of significant magnitude. To be repaid at a time and in a manner of our choosing, with appropriate notice." "Ha!" replied Don Marquez. "You do know that Eslandolans prefer gold to favours?" "And The Shadow Council of Hades prefers faith. Consider this a demonstration." "I'm sure we can come to an advantageous agreement. Let me relay this to my people for consideration." And so on they walked, their conversation turning to lesser concerns.
  15. Ye don't do things by halves, do you? Excellent work, kudos.
  16. Damn, that's a great choice of colours. TLG might go for a smaller build.
  17. I think the nutcracker has red on his hips too. Might make fora good experiment
  18. Indeed. We made our own mint a while back, and I don't recall pnences and pnounds being on the schedule.
  19. Thanks! I think I wanted to avoid having the "natives" be a generic tribal culture. Polynesian culture is so iconic, I thought it should be celebrated here.
  20. Thanks guys. I took a lot of inspiration from Polynesian cultures for the Tyree'dee, so this is all exactly as intended. Glad it worked out. Historically, France did use conscription during the Napoleonic wars, whereas Britain only recruited (ignoring the press gangs, ships don't count). That said, I was trying to imply that the threat of death was from the Lotii. Guess that didn't come across quite so much.
  21. Unit name: Tyree'dee Warriors Type: Light infantry / native militia Uniform description: Fibre skirts, tribal tattoos, jade or seashell jewellery Equipment description: Obsolete matchlocks Recruitment centre: Fort Arltrees, Jiankai, El Oleonda Unit history: A formal unit was established by Bishop François as part of the response to Lotii incursions into El Oleonda. The Bishop had previously fought alongside these warriors (under their own organisational structures) during the battle for Fort Arltrees, and was instrumental in recruiting them thanks to his understanding of Tyree'dee religious structures and liaison with fishing communities. Campaigns: The Battle for Fort Arltrees The Lotii War Motto: None
  22. "Oh no! Not again!" yelped A'chua, as he quickly turned away from the young woman. "Come back here you big chicken!" She yelled, stomping after him. "Nope! No. Leave me alone. I'm done with your priest!" Sighing, she lobbed a bolas neatly into the sailor's legs, sending him sprawling face-first into the dirt. "He ain't done with you!" she answered. "I have a family," he begged. "I want to live in peace." "So what?" she replied. "You don't get a free pass just cos you ask nicely." "But... but... I am a free man." "Oh, that's nice." she answered. "Now if you want to stay a free man, and not a dead man, you'll follow his instructions." A'chua the Navigator slumped, defeated, and listened as the teenager told him exactly what he needed to do.
  23. I love the build. It's a really nice story.
  24. I've said it elsewhere, but this is a fantastic lil classic pirates build. I love it!
