If you PM me an email address I can send you the LDD file. But I usually don't intend to build my MOCs in real bricks, so I don't really optimize the inside structure or make sure it's stable and the pieces exist in these colors.

LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

I wonder why it's Monkie Kid and not Monkey Kid. Is the main character a... monk? -

Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Graupensuppe replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I already installed blinds about ten years ago to prevent exposure of the models to direct sunlight. I still notice that in some cases stickers on the front of a model are affected slightly earlier than the stickers on the back side though, so exposure to light does seem to be a factor. Which colors do those stickers have? Areas that are printed with different colors also seem to be affected differently. White areas almost always crack and peel off, while areas printed in other colors such as black or brown sometimes aren't affected at all, even if they're adjacent. Here's an example I already posted in the quality reference thread when the stickers of my Batcave set started showing the first signs: -

I rarely if ever attach a sticker more than once; and this usually happens with all stickers of a set at about the same time. I noticed stickers peeling off from curved elements in a few cases as well, but that seems to be an entirely different problem from the stickers that really develop cracks all over and disintegrate. Since in my experience clear stickers never do this while white stickers nearly always did before 2010 and still often do now, I doubt that the adhesive alone is the problem. It's got to be the white foil itself, or an unwanted reaction between the adhesive they use and the white foil. -

But the white stickers mess themselves up when they inevitably crack and crumble away. It seems more important to me that the material doesn't deteriorate (especially in expensive collector's sets). -

The solution would be using only the clear stickers, because (in my experience) they're not affected. -

Same for me, but a few years later they started peeling off again. For example, the stickers of my 2017 UCS Snowspeeder started self-destructing very quickly, after less than 1.5 years, so the problem definitely hasn't been fixed. -
If the gunship sells well I'd love to see a separatist ship as an UCS set, especially the Invisible Hand. There are so many CIS ships that have never been made at all: Providence, Munificent, Recusant, Diamond, Hardcell, Lucrehulk (core ship, battleship, or droid control ship), Mankvim-814 interceptor...

Remember Wookiee Tarzan?

Yes. Unfortunately I couldn't find a more suitable head in LDD.

The official models are both pretty small, so I decided to build one that's more massive and closer to minifigure scale... 1097 pieces (The Jedi on the left is supposed to be Tsui Choi, who makes a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance on Kashyyyk.)

[MOC] Commerce Guild Diamond-Class Cruiser
Graupensuppe replied to Graupensuppe's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I just noticed that the Diamond-class cruiser can be seen in close-up in the Star Tours version of the battle of Coruscant. So I tried to modify the underside of the model accordingly. -
1502 pieces, including two 41st Elite Corps clone troopers. Microfigures (clone and wookiee) to show the scale:

Nice! You could also build a trade federation core ship like that.

Upon closer inspection I realized that there were in fact two more minifigures with TCW-like clone trooper armor after 2014: Old Rex and Wolffe from the 2016 AT-TE. However, I think there hasn't been a single cartoony face since 2014, so I'd say chances are that at least the heads will keep the regular faces. -

True, except for the black cheek lines all the changes are based on the animated version of the clone trooper armor. But that's what Lego seemed to have stopped doing in 2015, and I thought that was the right decision. For example, the 2015 senate commandos with accurate movie-style armor looked much better than the earlier ones to me. If we know what something is supposed to look like because it appeared in the live-action movies, I see no reason to replicate the distorted style from the series. That applies to both faces and armor. All Lego minifigures are caricatures to some degree, but "TCW-style" minifigures are caricatures of caricatures. -

The legs of the new clone trooper actually seem more accurate than before, but the torso and helmet really aren't. I wonder whether the clone in Grievous' Starfighter will look like this as well, or if it's once again a separate style for TCW sets only. -

Absolutely. I think it's regrettable that Lego based them on the slightly caricature-like TCW version again. I was very happy when Lego (and the other manufacturers of collectibles and replicas) switched to using the movie armor for TCW characters. -

I dislike all the cartoony minifigure heads with huge eyes. -

Are there any pictures that show which heads they have? If Lego returns to stylized TCW armor, the TCW cartoon faces might be back as well. I really hope they're not, because IMO using those was one of the biggest mistakes Lego ever made. -

There's actually two things I like: The white hips were overdue, and the complete knee plates are printed now. But the torso and helmet are more important, and they're in every way less accurate than the 2014-2019 style: -

But this is not about the markings, it's about the shape of the armor, mouth, and visor of the phase II armor. The 2014-2019 style was more movie accurate. -

They're still 501st troopers. If the temple scene were a problem for Lego, they wouldn't make them at all. This is just about the visual style, and I really hoped the days of distorted TCW faces were finally over... -

The "eyes" and "mouths" of the helmets were changed to look similar to the TCW style again... Whyyy?
